Everything went great.Ken gave me the estimate and explained everything in detail even waited for my wife to get home. after that the guys started work a week later.They arrived on Monday and finished on thursday.They removed my old furnace and all of my duct work in a crawl space,after that installed new furnace and duct work .I added central air which I never had also extra vent ,new WIFI controlled thermosat .Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Would use again  without fear

The response was exceptional. I got a call back the same day and technician showed up the very next morning. Now I was not there when services were rendered nor do I understand what was done. (Sorry I'm a true girl when it comes to these things) But my husband was extremely pleased and luckily the cost was very mininum. We will definitely use you guys again.

It went extremely well.  Ken Christensen, the owner, came in by appointment on a Saturday, spent an hour taking the measurements, photos of the furnace area, and discussing various options.  This was a big job and quality, value, warranty and after sales service, as well as installation timing was important to me.  We set up a time in to discuss his calculations per the recommended heating and cooling manual for sizing the furnace and AC.  Ken was courteous, thorough, very knowledgeable and proud of his business reputation, and clearly explained differences between various models (single stage, two stage, variable speed, etc.) and terminology (SEER!).  He uses Trane equipment which is rated highly. After getting a few more estimates, I determined that Ken will provide the best quality, value, warranty, and service.  As this was a big job, in January, that could be done all at one time on a non-emergency basis, we negotiated a fair price.  Ken called to confirm the installation date and was on site to start the job right on time.  Ian and Mathew did the actual work.  They laid out carpet protectors, wore booties, and were very careful in  avoiding any damage to walls, floors, etc., while removing the old furnaces and bringing in new furnaces.  They were very knowledgeable, hard working, punctual, pleasant to work with, and respected the need for cleanliness.  They set up the Wi-Fi thermostat and explained its operation and scheduling.  Both furnaces are running nicely.  Air conditioners are installed and will be charged and put in to service early spring when I will provide another update tot his review.  I am very satisfied with the work done to date and highly recommend this family-owned business.

The entire experience was excellent: Lauren responded to Angie's List request promptly & scheduled the appt. that day at the time I requested. Rick arrived on time. Both Lauren & Rick were professional & polite. Rick quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it well & had the repair part easily available in his vehicle. He did a thorough cleaning job & made sure the boiler was working for a good amount of time prior to leaving. Two weeks have passed since repair - boiler continues to work perfectly.

Had Earl?s come on a Monday for a furnace inspection & cleaning on my 19 year old original furnace. It was determined the heater core was shot which I suspected. I asked for an estimate on a new system and within 2 hours Ken was arrived. He explained in detail what would be done in addition to recommendations to improving the poor air flow I had. At no time did I feel pressured to use his company.  Because of my schedule, the job was started the next Monday.
Project:  Had a complete replacement of the Furnace, AC Unit and thermostat.  They moved the water heater & furnace 3 feet to accommodate for remolding in the future and upgraded the size of the air ducts to the front half of the house.  Care was taken to place the AC unit level and the mulch was worked in and not just raked to the side in a pile.  A lot of work was completed for this project.
It was a 2 day job. On day one, the crew of 2 were supposed to arrive at 9:00 am. I received a call at 7:30 asking if they could come at 8:00 am.  They arrived at 8:00 introduced themselves and where hard at work by 8:05. They worked nonstop until they left at 5:30 pm. With the exception of a lunch break. The following day they arrived at 7:50 and again hard at work by 8:05. They completed the job at 6:15 that night. Before leaving, the guys took the time to explain the new thermostat and go over what they had done overall. After a 10 hour day, I didn?t expected them to be so patient to insure I understood all I needed to know.
Ken was also there most of the first day and part of the second day to oversee what we agreed would be done.
The Crew:  I cannot say enough about how professional and easy going this crew was. I feel bad for forgetting their names. With the exception of moving equipment and cutting of metal, I never heard a sound. Not even a radio which would have been fine. They were here to do a job and they stayed focused the whole time. The basement was cleaned as if they were never there.
I recently moved here and had many contractors. Some were good and some were terrible. All the contractors could take a lesson from the guys at Earl?s on how to conduct themselves.
Time will tell how the equipment runs and follow up support I receive, but as far as installation and the crew, I couldn?t ask for better.

They were very quick to respond and at first I thought they had done a great job. However within a couple days we noticed a smell of gas leaking. NIPSCO ended up having to come on the weekend and said Earl 's had not tightened some valve sufficiently. They said we were in no danger and it was a common mistake.

Our furnace/AC was 23 yrs old we have had to replace coolant each year for the past 4 yrs.  This spring we had to have the AC unit recharged as usual.  On a Saturday night we noticed house was not cooling.  Monday I called 4 contractors to get estimates for new system.  Of the 4 contractors Ken was the only one to measure our home and calculate the proper size of furnace unit we should have.  He took the time to go over all the various options for replacing our equipment.  I was interested in upgrading the air filter for the system(our son has asthma).  He was very thorough and presented the options without trying to pressure us.  We decided to go with a Trane system with a electronic air filter and humidifier.  A crew was here on Friday morning and we had the AC up and running by that night.  Ken and Ian came back to finish the furnace on Monday morning.  They were very polite and considerate of our home.  Ken's name  was given  to us by my brother-in-law who had a similar positive experience with them.  I am very pleased with the quality of there work.  All of the connections are neat and straight, nothing looks sloppy or rushed.  They added a air return in our basement to increase the flow throughout the house.  The quality of the system combined with the 0% for 3 yr financing really works well for us.  THANK YOU

When we first met with Mr. Kenneth Christensen owner of Earl's heating & cooling he was a very pleasant person. So we made our purchase, payed $10,000 by check and financed the balance. Thought our worry's were over. First of all NEVER pay in full until the services or done. We set a date for install.  The install went fine, but that is when the lies started. " This new furnace is is so quite."
Then he told us a story about a woman that could not sleep because the furnace is so quite. Her old furnace made a lot of noise. So she had to play the radio at night to have noise so she could sleep. Well lo and behold when he turned ours on, it sounded like a 747 jet spooling up. Now to be fair, he never said if the lady's furnace was in the basement or attic. Our house is a modular and the furnace is located in the center of our home. His comment was that's just air flow. No kidding? I would have never guessed that.
Now, my son & I had removed and replaced ALL of the duct work about 15 years ago. I ask him why all the stack boots weren't replaced. Lie number 1 : This is a modular, they don't make that size anymore. But you put in about 1/3 of them and they are new. No response.  Number 2: My guys couldn't get to them because the beams or concrete piers are in the way. Really? I can see the new duct work that comes to the end of the boot, but you couldn't replace the boot? My son & I replaced all of them, had no problems. Number 3 : I will have to fabricate new one to fit cause they don't make this size anymore.  Really? I can buy them at Lowe's, Home Depo, Menard's. What I got was a 6in. drop in from the top. He never replaced any of more of the stack boots. I told him I wanted all metal duct work. What I got was some metal and some flexable.  He refused to take the flexable out and put in metal like I asked. He didn't tell us about 6ft. of the old duct work was rusted through, and we might have a water leak.
This is a 95-98 efficient  furnace. The PVC exhaust was never sealed in the top of the furnace. Was told to go get calk and fix it.
Damaged the drywall around the air return vents and was told to have our contractor repair it.
Ther was an entire  roll of copper tubing under my house the was stolen. When I asked Ken about it, he said one of my crew must have taken it. I didn't get an I'm sorry, I'll replace it, I'll have him return it, nothing. And to top It all off he won't return our house keys. Don't know why.
     Kenneth Christensen is a liar and one if not all of his crew are thieves. He will never be allowed back on my property.

 I called the company 8:30, and by 10:00 I was told a service man would be there in 30 minutes. He arrived at 10:30 and started immediately.  He found that the flame sensor was corroded. He showed it to me .  He cleaned the sensor, burners and safety          devices.  By 10:55 he was finished and out the door.  Service call $89.00, cleaning $86.40, total 175.40. They were very efficient and quick.

Jason was very helpful and checked out our furnace that is 25 years old.  We want to eventually get a new furnace and he was very helpful in making phone calls to have someone come out next week to have our furnace replaced.  He made suggestions but never tried to sway us in any direction to get a new furnace or any other services.  I appreciate his honesty.  He was very clean wearing foot covers.  He also did not rush us and answered all our questions.  Overall a great experience with Earl's Heating and Air Conditioning Inc.
