Rodney's guys worked quickly and did a good job of regrading the slope on the driveway. They responded politely to my guestions.

After giving me the bid we had to re-schedule the job twice due to heavy rains.  Rodney did not want to do the job unless weather conditions were good.  He impressed me with his thoughtful phone calls assuring me he was only waiting for weather to be acceptable.

He and crew jumped in at the first predictable sunny day.  Showed up on time.  Spent the entire day making sure the prep was properly done (my driveway was 16 years old and had many cracks to be dealt with).

Job was finished within 8 hours and looks spectacular.  I'm very pleased with both Rodney and his entire crew.  This is hard, dirty work, and it was done right.  I was especially impressed with the way Rodney handled to paving machine, a very large huffing and puffing hydraulic monster that dispenses the heated asphalt at exactly the thickness and placement he directs it to do.

Rolling and spreading additional asphalt manually where needed, the crew tapered the edges just right and made sure the grading was correct to allow water drainage to occur.

Rodney had some problems caused by this springs wet weather and couldn't get a long enough stretch of dry weather for about 5 weeks. He didn't want to do a job that would cause problems later on. He and his crew spent a day prepping the drive by rolling crushed rock over the entire area to be paved, it was hard to believe it could be made so flat. The next day they laid about 2-3 inches of hot asphalt down and this drive is definitely 100 of a 100 score. Rodney and company did everything right and on time with almost 0 waste. I can't recommended them enough.

Driveway left this way for several weeks to settle. Black topped and rolled in one day.  Quality of work good.

This went well. The pricing was very reasonable and they definitely improved the look of the driveway. Getting the appointment scheduled was very easy. I believe they got in a day or two.

All went as promised and quoted. While the cost was higher than another company's quote, the quality of work was much better. Rodney was responsive and professional.

Showed up on time. Did not make a mess. Was very professional. Came back as promised 4 weeks later and sealed the asphalt. All in all a very good job and I would defiantly use them again.

I called R&L Paving and Rodney came out that day.  We walked around the job site and discussed how everything was going to be completed, grades, excavation, stone and asphalt; he shot me a good price, we shook hands and they were here in two days.   I needed a drive for a new three car garage and wanted all three cars to have their own lane to the street.  I also live in really fine sand so everything sinks without a solid foundation.  A foot of sand was dug out and filled in with crushed limestone then compacted 3 times while setting grade .  That was topped of with a good 3" of hot asphalt.  The grades were a little tricky, but in the end, the slopes were perfect.  The crew was friendly and very helpful.  Everything was cleaned at the end of the day and I've got a great new drive that I'm sure will last,  probably, my lifetime.

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Job was completed on time and looks great. We had a few "pop up's" from stubborn growth under the asphalt and they came out and fixed the spots immediately.  We made an appointment to have them sealcoat the asphalt this year, too.  I'm very happy with the job and glad to see there are still contractors who are polite, professional, and fairly priced in the region.

Everything went fine. He lived up to everything he said. He applied a sealer free of charge. He applied the coating without me knowing and it was difficult to get into the door the day of application. All told it was a good job. I would hire them to come back and seal in the cracks that might occur.

Went well. Work was done on time as scheduled for the price agreed upon. I found them on Angie's List. They were certainly not the closest, but professional in all aspects.

Rodney (owner) worked against terrible weather conditions. The day after the the pavement was removed it rained and continued raining (heavily) for days (Flood of August 07). During the quote he remarked that asphalt cannot be installed over standing water or even very wet soil. He waited for several days after the last rain to do the paving so that the base and ground around the area could dry out. The completed the driveway and were within less than 20 feet of the end when a thunderstorm drenched them. They continued working and finished the job in spite the rain. His crew was hard working, helpful and respectful. Two neighbors on the street have contracted with R&L for their driveways. He discovered one had major problems with the underlying base and worked to correct it in a way that would last. R&L

The job went better than I expected. The whole job actually took a few days, but we had some bad weather that prevented them from working. We are very pleased with the results. The driveway never looked this good.
