Purchased Samsung refrigerator to be delivered and installed.  Salesman said I would need a new armored water line which I purchases.  There were a couple of weeks before it was delivered (had to come from warehouse somewhere else).  Three people showed up in old truck with no Lowe's sign on it--presumably sub-contractors.  They had difficulty getting refrigerator into house; I was afraid they were going to drop it or scratch doors.  But they finally got it in.  They didn't speak much English but they got through to me that I didn't need new water line.  Old one (15 or 20 years old), plastic without armor, was OK, they said.  They left without removing protective plastic rape on refrigerator.
Old line was not OK and has since developed leak.
When I called Lowe's today I was told that they do not install water lines.  The salesman had indicated they do, hence the need for me to purchase the line at time refrigerator was purchased.  Adam, the guy on phone, claimed this had always been their policy.  It is not what the salesman told me, of course.  It seemed they didn't warrant their installations I said.  More like they don't do installations, beyond plugging in electric cord was Adam's response.
SO BE WARNED--LOWE'S DOESN'T DO INSTALLATION BEYOND PLUGGING APPLIANCE IN--THEIR SUB CONTRACTORS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL--AND THEY WARRANTY NOTHING (APPLIANCE MANUFACTURER IS BEHIND APPLIANCE, NOT LOWE'S)
