Jeff Hopper Painting

I'm writing this review under Jeff Hopper Painting because he doesn't have an Angie's List account under Faith Home Improvements. We hired Jeff and his crew in August to install new flooring in our new condo. He was originally hired to paint only but we decided to use him for flooring when the schedule with Lowes didn't work out. He stated flooring would not be a problem. We purchased all materials for the flooring installation and only hired him for the labor. He asked for a 50% deposit which we paid with a credit card and then requested the rest of the money in cash a few days later. We were just moving so all of our belongings were pushed to one side of the garage and the other side was had the flooring material and room for them to walk in and out of the house. They made all of the cuts for the flooring inside the garage getting dust all over our belongings. We noticed issues with the flooring installation right away. The day they started the installation, my wife took the day off to be there in case they needed something from us. She started noticing gaps between floor boards, almost where you could see the subfloor, and areas where the flooring was laid short of the base boards, leaving gaps between the trim and floor. My wife asked the crew to fix those issues before proceeding but they ignored her and kept working. I called Jeff that evening and told him that there were areas upstairs that were incorrect and needed to be fixed. He said he would take care of it the next day. We arrived ome from work the next day to find the areas upstairs were not corrected and that they started laying the floor in the downstairs, incorrectly. We called Jeff again and asked that he fix the upstairs issues and that we noticed similar issues downstairs and that I would mark them for him so he can make any corrections before proceeding. He said he would take care of it. We arrive home the next day to find none of the areas upstairs or downstairs were fixed and that they continued laying the floor. That night we called him and ended the business relationship and asked for half of our money back because we would need money to fix those areas, not knowing the what we would find out a couple days later. He did not refund the money we asked and left all of the unused material in our garage that we paid him to dump. Over 3 professional companies evaluated the installation and each company said all of the floors, tile and laminate, would have to be taken out and reinstalled. This required us to repurchase the flooring materials for the other company. We contact Jeff several times about coming to a settlement for the poor work but without a response. We filed and won a dispute with our credit card company, in which we submitted 50 pictures of the flooring, for some of the money but have not received compensation for the repurchased materials. I've currently filed a complaint with the BBB and exercising other avenues for reimbursement.

Failure. Do not use. He canceled 4 times for a quote day of. Took forever to return for work and couldnt even get on the same page of wjat they were going to do with an unhappy customer. When told we wpuld pay when done was treatened with a lawyer. Do Not Use
