The proposal price was $7,800.00. The contract was $7,000, but I?ve only paid $4,200 because the job hasn?t been finished. Cory, the electrician ended up not putting the wire as high and as far as it could go. I found out later that the log joyces were up against the logs. He had cut 3/4th of that floor joyce all the way down to 1/4th of an inch. This happened to both ends on one end, and one end on the other end of the cabin. Now he?s compromised the strength of the floor structure. The building inspector did not catch it either. I had them come back and move the wiring further back. They were going to charge me for that, even though that?s what I asked him to do in the first place. The electrician was smoking in my cabin as well, and left his cigarette butts on the subfloor of the cabin. He yelled at me and said I?m paying him for this work, and if I didn?t like it, I should?ve told him the first time, even though I did. I also found out that the feeder cable was only buried 6-8 inches down and it should?ve been 24 inches. He said he was afraid to go down too far because of the tree roots. He told me that the cable is so stiff that he has to gradually come up, and so that?s why it was shallow. He also said the inspector okayed it, but when I contacted the inspector, he said he didn?t see it and it wasn?t up to code. I?ve called them numerous times, with no return phone call. I had to hide my phone number to talk to someone, but yet this issue still isn?t resolved.
