He always did a pretty good job. He cost a little more; but he is more precise. I don't have to worry about not being right. I have used him for 4-5 jobs before. He lives in nearby main speedway. He is very curious, prompt, and tells exactly what he is going to do. He was reasonable. I had to buy the boards, and he put it in. I had to pay for the labor. He has the general knowledge about the stuff. He does what he says he is going to do. He is like a general handyman. He does a good job.

Our scheduled appointment was for 8:00 a.m. At nearly 10:00 a.m., my husband, who was waiting for the workers, called to find out the status of the job for the day. Turns out there was a glitch in Pop's system and we were not on his schedule (his computer or phone dropped the appointment info). To his credit, he got a couple of workers to our house within a few hours. Unfortunately, my husband wasted a morning waiting for service people. Two guys arrived and they did the work we hired them to do. They cleaned their tools in my kitchen sink, which left a white residue. Easy enough to clean, but I had just done an extra scrubbing and polishing the day before and wasn't really happy to have to do it again so soon (This is why I rated professionalism "fair"). The guys left a tool and some supplies at our house, but that seems to be the norm for service people these days. So overall, I understand glitches happen, "Pop's" corrected the problem when brought to his attention, the guys came, did their job, and chapter closed.

The job went really well. He was right on time first thing in the morning. He told me exactly what needed to be done and completed the job in a very timely fashion. I would definitely reccommend him.

Clay Lewis did what he said he would do and worked around our schedule of doing it. After agreeing upon simply an hourly rate plus parts, I gave him a list of things to do and a key to come and go as he needed. He did all his work over a period of several weeks, coming and going as needed. When the weather allowed him to finish another job that needed nice weather, he informed me of his desire/need to do so and then came back when he said he would. We asked him to delay any further work over a period of one week due to visitors, and he accommodated us. When I expressed disappointment with how one ceiling area of drywall patching turned out, he gladly redid it to my great satisfaction. I was very pleased with Clay's work and will call him again when I need anything done.

I thought it was pretty pricey because I bought my own paint. I thought that it would be less. Overall, his work was good. He was nice. The first encounter I had with him he fixed a piece of siding at no charge. He has a good personality. He's very responsive. The room was painted well and the door was hung on well.

He went right to work and gave me an honest opinion on some other work I was thinking of having done. He did a good job on the work he did and his price was reasonable. I found him to be very trustworthy and we plan to have him back to do some electrical work for us.

He was very friendly and thorough. He arrived on time at 8 am. I told him I had to do some work from home on a conference call so if he needed to talk to me do so carefully. He respected that, focused on getting the work done in the kitchen. He had to go in and out of the house a few times to get all the tools he needed, but was done in about 1 1/2 hours. Afterwards I showed him some other work I would like to get done around the house and and on the deck and he listened well and talked me through a strategy that would allow him to do several jobs at the same time. I am definitely planning on using him again and referring him to friends.

They showed up on time to do the work. They were friendly and professional. They explained what they were doing. There was one thing that he couldn't fix that he informed us of how to get it done. He cleaned up well when he was finished. We would use them again and have even recommended them to others.

While prepping to have new carpet installed we noticed the floor and wall was wet. A quick inspection showed that the outside window sill had dry rotted and this allowed water to seep all the way to the sub floor. I was sure we were looking at thousands of dollars in repairs. That's when I went on Angie's list and found Clay. Clay replaced a 3x2 foot section of drywall and an equal size piece of sub floor. He also repaired and painted two outside window sills. The window job was extremely innovative. He used some type of hard drying compound to "bondo" and then shape the sills. This saved us big bucks, as other quotes we received suggested that we replace both windows. Clay was very courteous, arrived at the times promised and charged exactly what was quoted. Since his price was lower than I expected I asked him to give me a quote on installing some trim work in my dining room and the did it for only an additional $50.00!

He is on time. Gives a very reasonable estimate. Courteous and polite, answers questions as to what is involved and the cost of materials and labor.

I had a cast iron kitchen sink with matching drains. The paint on the drains had peeled off. I bought new brushed chrome drains. He removed the old ones and replaced them with the new ones. He had to remove the garbage disposal to do it. Also made a trip to the hardware store to buy new drain pipe so they would fit. Always does a nice job. I have used him in the past and will continue to.

Clay was extremely nice, and did fine quality work. He quickly provided an estimate, which was fair and inexpensive compared to others. He did a nice job. My main complaint was that it took a VERY long time for him to get out to do the work. I had to call more than once to ask when he would be out to start work. He also used my ladder and my blowdryer to assist with the drywall repair, which was fine but asking would have been nice. My only suggestion for improvement would be communication and organization. I never received a bill for several months for the work he did, and the having to call him several times to find out when he was coming to do the repairs suggested a complete lack of organization. On the plus side, Clay pointed out a region of dry rot behind the soffit that needed to be mended. He pointed out the problem and gave a few solutions but wasn't pushy about it, and he suggested some low-cost methods to take care of the problem. Very honest.

Clay was always personable and the work he did turned out great. The initial estimate was right on. But he was very hard to track down--it almost always required two to three phone calls to get him to call back. The job took twice as long as he said it would, partially because the weather was wet so the drying process took awhile, but partially because there were multiple days when he just didn't come to the house at all. We left our key out for him and one day he just decided to keep it with him rather than leave it in the house as we had asked. He then lost that key and still hasn't found it. We gave him a second key, which he also kept, but has since returned. He attempted to clean the bathroom after finishing the work, but left quite a bit of drywall dust on most surfaces. He also lost one of our light switch plates. All in all, he was perfectly pleasant and did great work. But I don't think I would recommend him to others or use him again--it was just too frustrating.
