separate quote to return and seal new concrete as well as sandblast and seal porch and driveway. They have not returned about 4 messages left on their cell phone. Essentially they apparently deserted and have chosen to not finish job we signed with them to do.
They were paid for the work done immediately after completion.
"The original scope of work was removing and replacing steps leading into main entry of the home. As usual, each side of steps are landscaped. In order to replace old steps access/work site involved damage to the surrounding areas. This is always discussed beforehand as it was with the [member name removed]. I was never told, or asked anything about replacement or repairs of landscaping . We are a concrete company. In response to "tons of gravel" being left on site: "tons" of gravel is inaccurate. We returned to remove all excess material, dirt, fill and spoils as the step project was completed. Main topic of discussion: Originally, I met [member name removed] to discuss issues with his stamp concrete driveway which had a "milky" appearance due to sealer/moisture. To correct the problem we did a sample area of sandblasting to remove old sealer, re-sealed this sample area and gained approval to proceed. This was approved and we were scheduled to complete the sandblasting and re-sealing this spring. The whole purpose was to eliminate the "white milky" look. The reason it was milky was due to moisture.Beginning early spring of this year I spoke with Mr. Duncan. The company I sub-contracted(they specialize in stripping sealer from concrete) to sand blast set a start date date for the 2nd week of June. As this date approached, after repeated calls to the sub-contracted company owner, I was finally advised he could start the last week of June. As soon as I received this info I forwarded it to [member name removed]. By this time he had made the decision to hire someone else. The weather conditions to perform this type of work were critical to say the least as it involved sandblasting, sealer removal and re-sealing with solvent based material. I did the best I could do for [member name removed] given the timing during Spring season. I felt "let down" by our sub-contracted company who have always done a professional job for us in the past. Throughout the [member name removed] project, he and I shared good information and scheduling. I never spoke with [member name removed]. This is an unsettling situation as I feel we did all we could do while relying on others to satisfy [member name removed]. In summary, this is not our known reputation nor is it our common business practice to receive complaints. I hope this explanation of events help to describe the situation from our end. Sincerely, Brad Brown, Owner Swackhamer Masonry & Concrete"
They did a good job. The work is beautiful. It is really impressive. Everybody compliments me.
