Bob is an expert in old houses -- we are so glad he is working with us! He is willing to do work for us, but is also willing to teach us how to do the work. He is a perfectionist and does not cut corners. On one of our first projects Bob took us to the lumberyard to teach us how to pick out good lumber. He spent several hours teaching about different kinds of lumber and he patiently answered our questions. Bob is very easy to work with, can answer any question we throw at him, and works hard. Whether you are looking for a consultant (to help answer your questions) or a contractor (who does the work so you don't have to), Bob is your go-to guy. From the start this work went poorly and after more than a year it is going worse. The job is unfinished; multiple components of our house and roof remain damaged. The current situation is that I Custom has breached the contract, committed a number of violations to the Indiana Home Improvement Contracts Act, failed to pull construction permits in manner related to the work being done, breached the Indiana statutory warranties of workmanship, and through negligence left our house worse off than before they started the work. The result of their work and responses to our complaints has caused I Custom to receive a stern letter of warning from the Indiana Attorney Generals Office, and an "unsatisfactory" rating from the Indiana Better Business Bureau (lowest rating possible.) I Custom failed to attempt to straighten the main ridgeline of the house, incorrectly installed all of the shingles on the house, caused our skylights to leak, broke one of the upper eaves, to name just a few items.
