I would not recommend this company to anyone.  There was a reason their price was the lowest.  
We had a roof leak that we could not repair on our own.  The house also had a couple layers of shingles on them so we decided it was time to just get a new roof.  
When speaking with Josh I told him where the roof leak was and they said they would focus on the area to make sure we didn't have any problems with it.  They installed the new roof over a 2 day period.  After the first day of installing the roof they were a little over half done.  When I got home my neighbor stopped me and said they had not put down tar paper over a large area on my roof where the shingles were already installed.  I called Josh and asked him about this and he said that was definitely not the case and that they would fix it if it were.  When I got home from with the next day, they had finished the roof install and were gone.  To this day I don't know if the tar paper is there but they never acknowledged that they fixed it.
After a year, the roof started to leak in the exact same spot it was leaking before.  I called AJ and they came out and put in another piece of drip edge and left.  When I came home to see this I assumed that would fix it.  It rained again and leaked again a few days later.  I called them again and they said they would come out.  I waited a week.  They never showed up.  I called and asked for them to come out again and they said they would.  I waited another week and they never showed up.  I called again and asked if I could setup a specific date when they would come so I could come home from work and meet them.  We scheduled a date.  I used vacation time from work to wait for them and they never arrived.  Finally I sent them an email and left them a voicemail stating that I would have to take appropriate actions to get them to come out.  They showed up the next day and put down a bunch of caulk on the roof in the leaky area.  That fixed it for another year.
The following year it leaked again.  I was working with another company to do house repairs at the same time it started leaking again so I asked them to take a look.  That's when they saw that AJ had missed putting down flashing in the area of the leak which was about a foot long.  This, in my opinion, was an intentional lack of consideration for my project and money.
I won't call them for their "lifetime warranty" ever again because you have to argue with them to come out and they don't fix the job anyway.  I don't recommend this company to anyone.

I purchased the "Big Deal" for an entire roof replacement. To be honest, I came very close to giving up on AJ's and calling Angie's List for a refund because it took them several days to get back with me and I was starting to get a bit worried that I had charged the money to my credit card but hadn't had any contact with the company. Luckily, someone finally returned my call and I'm really glad I didn't give up on them because they did a great job! They were in and out in one day and did a great job cleaning up.  I would recommend them.

Everything went great. The first day they did the tear off and the second day they replaced the new roofing. After they were done they did a good job of cleaning up everything.

Very competitive quote.  A little trouble nailing down a start date.  Once started very efficient -- NICE JOB!  My only complaint is some of the siding was displaced during the project -- I asked twice for them to fix (20 minute job) but they never showed up -- I fixed one of the areas myself but the other is too high for me -- guess I will have to pay someone to fix it.

They just let me know that there was hail damage, they contacted the insurance company for me.  They did a very good job on the replacement.  But now I'm having issues getting ahold of them for the warranty do to leaks in my roof.  I have tried several times to contact them through different phone numbers and email addresses, and I am getting no reply.

AJ Construction did an full roof tear off and replacement.  It was important for us to find a company that is reputable and uses their own trained crews to complete a job.  The reason is because the employees showed a sense of urgency and pride when they were working on the roof.  We have hear of horror stories of companies using third party vendors and then they magically disappear if there is something wrong or worse yet the roof is installed improperly.
AJ Construction gave us an exact time and they were here early in the morning ready to work and that is exactly what they did.  They took the time to talk to us during the process and updated as they went along.  There were some areas of concern on our roof and they honored the price they quoted even though it was above and beyond our scope of work.  
They clean up was thorough and not a nail has been found since they put on the roof.  We will forward our neighbors to use AJ Construction and if we ever need roof assistance we will not hesitate to call them. 

AJ provided a free estimate.  They also gave me the addresses of other locations where they replaced a roof so that I could view the quality of their work.  It was also very helpful to see an installed roof  so that we could pick the best color.
No pressure to buy and they were quick to respond to all our questions.
Complete job included the best warranty in the busines which included labor and materials.
Installers arrived as scheduled and compled the work as scheduled - very courteous and professional.  They answered all my questions and  my property was left in great condition.  
I would highly recommend this company if you need a new roof.

Josh provided a very competitive quote in a timely manner.  We had a few items added to the quote (replacing old venting system with ridge venting, installing gutter guards) and they accommodated our requests. Professional, hard working crew that was easy to work with. Re-leveled a section of gutter for us that was not draining well. They even removed and replaced the satellite dish in the exact location so we did not need the dish company out for a service call. Crew was as careful as possible with the landscaping and they cleaned-up every night. Very happy with the work.

We just have our roof done by A.J. Construction and Roofing Company and is very satisfied with their work.  Josh Hill (owner) gave us his quote and estimate which is fair and honest compare to four other roofing companies.  Josh was friendly, polite, honest and knowledgeable about his line of work.  His crew arrived at the appointed time and started working right away.  They are friendly, organize and did their job promptly and efficiently all in one day.  Overall, we are very happy with their work because they have great materials, good workmanship and fair price.  We highly recommend them!

Contact was VERY difficult.  There was no response from the provider for quite some time.  I had to send MANY e-mail messages and voice mail messages to make contact.  Then scheduling was another issue.  I had to threaten to ask for my money back before something was finally scheduled.
The workers were very pleasant.  They did a great job.  The roof looks great.
I had to send a couple of messages regarding invoicing for the storm damage repair.  
The roof woork was great, it seems to be the in office piece that is considerably lacking!!!

We were very pleased with our experience with AJ Construction and roofing.  The job was essentially done in two full days - the workers stayed from 8 am until 8 pm the first day and finished at 6:30 pm the next day.  The weather was very hot - temps in the 90's and high humidity, so frequent breaks were necessary.  The workers were amiable and seemed to know their job well.  Tyler, our site manager, answered any questions we had and addressed any concerns.  The grounds were cleaned up well at the end of each workday.  Our foundation plantings were covered and sustained little damage. 
Josh, the company owner, was very helpful from start to finish.  His bid was the lowest we received. He was more than willing to work with my husband, a former roofer himself, on the way things would be done.  On two occasions when I was waiting for a call from Abby regarding scheduling, I just called her myself and and she was always pleasant, available and accomodating.  Josh returned and did our silvercoating himself on a cooler day. 
Overall, very happy we chose AJ to do our job.

Josh came all the way from Osceola, IN,  about 36.6 miles away,  to give me an estimate for work that needed to be done to stop my roof from leaking.  Reconstruction to the house, would cost more to repair where the roof leaked,  than the expense to cover the whole roof with new materials that would prevent leaks from happening in the first place.  To make a long story short, previous owners did a poor construction job adding on to the house.  The roofing job was estimated for $6000 complete, providing they did not have to replace more that 3 / 4X8 sheets of defective wood for the decking. There estimate was the lowest of three. They provided the best materials available at a more reasonable rate, installation inclusive.  It would be about 3 weeks before they could do the job.  It was longer than that because it was a rainy season.
When work day arrived, they covered existing landscape all around the work area.  They did a complete tear off of old roofing materials, scraped and cleaned the deck. They provided a huge trailer to load the debris in.  
The decking was reasonably sound and they did not have to remove or replace any of the decking.  They sequentially installed the newer weather resistant materials in ample supply including Ice and Water Shield and flashing: especially over the vulnerable areas concerning joints, valleys and the trouble spots where the newer part of the house was added on.
Something new for the house was the insertion of a new ridge vent for the attic included in the deal.  Additional notes said to remove and replace the "Gutter Guard".  However, when Tyler,  the Crew Boss arrived, he said this would not be necessary.  
The overlays have a 5 year workmanship warranty against leaks and the Shingles have a 25 year workmanship warranty against leaks. What is better, they guarantee their workmanship and they performed as experienced professionals .  When they were finished,  they cleaned up all the debris including nails with a magnetic roller all around the house, plants and lawn. 
The work crew was very skilled. They started about 9 AM and were completely finished by 6 PM.  The only time they stopped was for an afternoon lunch. Tyler picked up the trailer of debris the following morning.  Josh came back for the payment and wanted my evaluation of the work they did. They did a good job. 

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good but I didn't get on the roof to inspect it. They said everything was fine. I was satisfied with everything they did. They were all polite and respectful. I was very happy.

Very well. Crew was there promptly, did the work in two days, and cleaned up.

Josh arrived when he said he would. He inspected the roof and showed me photos of it on his iPad. Apparently the rrof originally had bben installed with many mistakes and short cuts.
The installation of the new roof was done in 2 days, as Josh said it would. The crew was polite and courteous and cleaned up the work site everyday. My favorite memory is them having their lunch on the lawn in the shade of one of our trees. Another one is of Josh's brother having a conversation with my husband about religion. The roof looks great and did not sustain any obvious damage during the recent hail storms when neighbors had to have their roof replaced. Here is my only complaint: we also wanted to have a small job done to repait damage around our garage door. Josh did not follow up with that, even after left a voice mail. No job should be too small!

Fine. In and out in a day.

Josh came out on May 13, 2013, to check out our roof and give us an estimate for a new roof.  He was very professional and knowledgeable, spending time explaining in detail what services his company would provide.  The estimated cost, I felt, was very fair.  The roofing project began on June 18.  It included: covering our extensive flower beds around the house, tearing off the old shingles and felt paper, replacing a few pieces of decking, installing new drip edges, flashing, new felt paper, ice & water shield on eaves and valleys, new shingles, new roof vents, cleaning out the gutters, cleaning the yard and hauling away the debris.  Our project was done in 1 1/2 days.  The large crew made short work of the tear off and the finished project looks superb.  Our plantings were left in great shape and the yard was perfectly cleaned up.  Tyler, our project manager, was very concerned that the project went smoothly and gave excellent supervision of his crew.  Josh and Tyler were both easy to work with and professional.  We are very satisfied with the work of this company!

The visit to establish an estimate was quick and easy.  A price was quoted within about 20 minutes after arrival.  The project started in about three weeks after the go-ahead.  The crew was prompt and worked hard from about 8:00 AM until 6:30 PM.  The project took two full days and a few hours on the third day.  There were about 44 squares of shingles installed.  The roof looks very nice and we are very pleased with the results.
Two things I would suggest however:
1.  Insist that all of the downspout openings are plugged with a rag or something.  I had to go around the entire house and unplug them because of old tar paper, old pieces of shigles and many nails blocking them.  It might not be so bad with normal downspouts, but mine dump into pipes that go out into the yard with pop-up drains.  There is no place for the blockage to go.
2.  Insist on better care of the plantings around the house.  They used tarps, but in the areas where the scrappedshigles fell, it crushed some of my plants to probable the point of now return.  I also don't think they were as carful about walking on the plants under the tarps.
They did put a good effort into the clean up when the job was completed.  I would recommend them for a good quality job.

I was happy with the service. Everything went fine. I liked the professionalism. I liked the fact that the owner of the company actually came along to discuss what all was happening while the repair was going on. He directed his people where to look for issues on the existing roof. And then we sat down and we discussed the cost of a replacement roof. And when the replacement roof was being done, he arrived early in the morning, made sure his people were here on time, got them working and then he went off to other projects. And at the end of the day when they were finishing up, he came back to make sure that I was happy with the work that has been performed. That was unexpected. And they were done in eight hours. And the roof they installed, I'm pretty sure, has a lifetime warranty, if not, then minimum 30 years.

Everything went very well. From the first contact right thru to the end. Josh "listened" to what I wanted, so many other roofing people came and "told" me what I wanted! Josh took the time to understand what we wanted and even came out a second time with his framing contractor to make sure they could do what I wanted. We were trying to eliminate a flat roof addition and have it sloped and match the rest of the house.
The crew was professional, courteous and did a great job, the roof looks great and they cleaned up afterwards. No problems at all.

AJ Roofing tore off the old shingles, replaced damaged decking, applied new shingles, cleaned up entire mess and did the whole job in one complete day. The employees were courteous, efficient, fast, and thorough. We were very pleased with the workmanship provided.

They were very good. There were no shingles on the ground and no water on the floor. Their customer service was also excellent. I was impressed with them.

the first service person made a complete mess of things, including dripping caulk on the carpets and bending the gutter. The owner was so appalled with the shoddy workmanship he came out himself and went out of his way to make everything right. Very good workmanship and professionalism. Evidently the original repair person is now no longer performing that kind of work.
