AJ Construction & Roofing came to my home to provide an estimate for a complete tear off on my roof.  I was impressed by the professionalism for the duration, from the first meeting all the way to the finished job.  Communication was great.  They were excellent with providing samples, along with plenty of other product information.  Josh went over all warranty information and any questions that I had.  I was impressed with the timeliness and the detail to cleanliness.  Josh's promise held true - they only tore off the amount of shingles that they could replace the same day.  The crew's attention to detail and the effeciency of their work was outstanding.  This company exceeded my expectations, as I've had some previous bad experience with other companies.  Thanks again to Josh & Tyler for their outstanding level of commitment to service and quality.  I would definitely use them again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a job well done.

We first met Josh and his crew almost 2 years ago when they replaced the roof on our house, insulated our attic and rebuilt our front porch.  They did a great job, were dependable and cleaned up at the end of each day so a mess was not left.  When we decided to remodel our master bathroom, we asked Josh to provide an esimate.  He worked with us to be sure we were happy with the plans but also provide his expertise based on his experience.  Once the decision was made to go with AJ Constuction, a start date and estimated completion date were provided.  They started on time and completed two weeks after expected but that was due to our changing the plans during the constuction.  Josh was great to work with and his major goal during construction was to be sure we were happy.  We were so happy that we decided to remodel the entire first floor of our house.  This included the family room, kitchen, dining room, living room, powder room and laundry room.  We gutted everything in the kitchen and familyroom down to the studs.  The crew working the job were dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy.  The entire company was great to work with.  We were so happy we hope to have them back in the spring to remodel the deck on the back of our house.  AJ Construction is fair with pricing, hard working and easy to work with.

Contacted the company via their website's email address and didn't receive a response.  Called the phone number listed by the BBB and got the owner/manager who said I should call the office instead.  Called the office and spoke to a woman who took my information (needed a new roof).  Never heard back from any of these contacts, eventually had the job done by someone else.

He was the lowest estimate out of four companies. They came out and completed the job within one day. They did an excellent job and it was too good to be true!

This was awe full and calling them and getting someone on the phone was imposable.

These guys were great.  Josh showed up on the date and agreed upon time.  His estimate was a pleasant surprise.  I had gotten estimates from $4500 to $6500 and he came in much lower than the rest.   His office staff was equally great and dropped off roofing samples to my home.  It was a little difficult to see the true coloring of the samples due to their small size, so she dropped off much larger samples to my house for my mother to look at.     I have never met such a professional, kind and caring group of guys.  They were there on time, they protected the house, they cleaned up everything and they were polite.  They did a great job and the roof looks wonderful.  My mother had some lightning rods on the house which they made sure were not broken.  I would hire them again with no hesitation for any roofing needs.

The business owner, Josh Hill, said he was just getting started and was "hungry" for business. He was very personable and professional and worked with me regarding payment options. Josh said that he would be the one doing the work and he did begin the project. However, he soon started coming late or not at all with no phone call about half the time.   He said he'd gotten a contract to work on new homes and it was too big of a deal to pass up yet his company was not yet large enough to handle his commitments. First. Josh pulled Mike off of the new home work to do our job but we never knew when Mike would show up. After several weeks of not hearing from anyone we were nice but had to get insistent that the work had to get done. Josh sent his friend, Neil, to do the bulk of the job. Neil was a nice guy but it was apparent that Neil did not have the skills that Josh possessed. Here is a list of the mistakes. Mistakes made by Neil: Upper cabinet was to be installed next to the entry door but Neil put four holes in the wall just to the right of the sink where no cabinet was to go--on the opposite side of the room. He spackled the holes but they still show because it made holes in the wallpaper.  Made the hole for the 4 receptacle outlet too large – had to be patched with wallpaper.  Started to install a cabinet handle on the wrong side of the cabinet door.  Hole had to be spacked. Neil said that Josh refused to buy a new door.  Made hole in wrong place when installing handicap grab bar next to toilet. Had to be patched and repainted.   Put wrong towel racks up in the wrong places.  Mistakes made by Mike: Failed to clean up ceramic tile grout properly.  Grout set on the ceramic tile and was a mess.  Grout cracked within a few days. Josh repaired it but it cracked again and we gave up on trying to get it fixed again.  Mistakes made by Josh: Installed vanity lighting in wrong spot.  Homeowner had to get a different light fixture in order to cover the mistake.  Made mistake in measurements for the cabinets causing a long delay when special order KraftMaid cabinets had to be reordered.  Basically, what happened is that, when a bigger job came along, we got the "crumbs." I am still dealing with problems in the bathroom. The floor sags toward the sink and the ceramic tile has cracked very badly. The plumbing for hot water to the sink blew not long after the project was completed and spewed water everywhere.  All of this being said, I would still give Josh another chance with a different job because he did work with us on finding creative ways to fund the project, using some materials he had leftover from other jobs, etc. I think that he was just too inexperienced and got in over his head with too much work and too few workers. I hope that the years since have brought more experience and wisdom to this ambitious young man and sincerely wish him well.

They were very responsive and wonderful to work with. Josh was prompt for the estimate and even showed us pictures of what was going on up on the roof. He was also very honest about what was needed up there. My house is very old and needed can vents and so we had them put those on too. The proposal was very detailed and they were even honest about a possible extra cost. They came in on budget but it was nice to know ahead of time of any possible extra cost. As soon as we agreed to the quote, the they sent the crew out with in a couple days. The crew was absolutely wonderful! They showed up when they were supposed to and worked all day for 2 days to finish our roof. The roof looks amazing! The color we chose makes the house look even better then I have ever seen it. If I find I have any other roofing or construction needs, I will definitely consider hiring them again.

AJ Construction & Roofing was very professional. The price is extremely reasonable. We are asking them back to install a new deck in addition to internal house repairs. A trust worthy and reliable firm!

It went perfectly. They showed up when they said they would to do an estimate and explained in detail everything they would do. While severe weather delayed the start they were communicative and responsive and started the work on the first non rain day. The two other roofing companies we used to get estimates were higher in price quotes and one never even got out of his car or examined the roof. We love this company and you will too.

Once we made contact, everything went well. This company is extremely busy so be ready to move and make a decision when you call them or you may have to wait a while. Estimate was fair and the work was completed swiftly. Unfortunately they did forget to spray for mold and to install the requested vents at the time of service but a quick phone call and they were back out and took care of everything and then some (added a second vent free of charge).

They were honest about what I really needed. They were pretty good on responsiveness, and they were professional. I would consider using them in the future.

They didn't do any bad work but they didn't do everything I expected them to do. I met with the owner 3 or 4 times, including re-writing the quote once. During a storm I had some facia tore off and I wanted that replaced. They did not do that. There is an overhang that runs about 12 feet over on the house and 15 feet long. It was talked about and they did not do that. He did tell me he would be back in a few weeks to do that himself. I have not heard a word from them since the day I gave them their check. I had a good repoire with the owner and they did good work. But I would say get absolutely everything you want done in writing first.

It went fine. They explained things thoroughly. They provided a two-pocket folder of useful information. They were also insured.

Made a call, spoke with Josh who was very pleasant and agreed to talk again when he had his MI license (2 weeks). Called in 2 weeks, spoke with secretary. Didn't hear. Called again and again but have never heard back.

I contacted several roofer looking for someone who had experience in flat roofs. I had three different quotes. AJ (Josh Hill) had a very detailed quote, explaining exactly what they were proposing with costs. The quote was very professionally done and complete. Their quote was about 45% less then the next closest quote. Because we knew there was rot in the decking, Josh quoted the prices for each additional sheet of decking. Before signing a contract, I asked Josh for 2 references. The references reported that AJ Construction had done a great job. I signed the contract and Josh immediately scheduled the job. The project was to strip off 2 layers of roofing, down the the plywood decking. Replace/repair the decking, and then cover it with a rubberized membrane. Josh's crew showed up on the scheduled day and immediately got to work. They covered my patio and flower beds to protect everything. They worked hard and steady all day. By the end of the second day, the job was 97% done. The third morning was just a few finishing touches. The job was perfect! Exactly as promised. They left my property as they found it. The crew was very polite and the communications from Josh were frequent and professional. This was by far the most painless home improvement project I've done in years. You won't go wrong with these guys!!!

It only took them about 1 and 3/4 days to complete the job. The workers were very good and hard workers, and maintained a very clean work site. None of the roof was left uncovered over night. I was very pleased with the work they performed.
