I had McCormick out to my home to install a lighted address sign under an existing sconce. The serviceman evaluated my request and, after approximately 10 minutes, presented a price of $565 for the installation of the sign. I told him I felt this number was high for the work to be performed. He explained that their pricing model was based on the completion of the job, not based on time and materials. He said that the cost of $565 was what it would take to install the sign, regardless of how long it actually took him or what materials were required. I agreed and signed an iPad based contract. Approximately one hour later, I received an email showing the refund of my payment and stating the following: Client called us out to home to install NEW lighting address sconce on front of home, after pulling apart existing light it was found that there is an approximate 6” of Brick and concrete behind this, unfortunately making it impossible to fish a wire to a new light without having masonry work done, surface mount wiring would also be an option. A voicemail was left to client and light fixtures were reinstalled as before. In summary, the job was more difficult than originally anticipated. Instead of hiring a subcontractor to properly complete the work, McCormick breached it's contract with me (as I had contracted for completion) and, without consent, refunded the paid amount to my credit card. It's a mystery to me why McCormick feels legally justified in breaching its contract when the work presents as more difficult than anticipated when they ask customers to sign a completion contract.

Found McCormick Electrical highly rated on HomeAdvisor.com so contacted them. I needed a major upgrade on wiring/main service to house/ and electric panel for a neglected 1908 rental house I purchased right next to my own home. My initial contact with the McCormick office was friendly, professional, and very informative. I got an appointment in just 2 days and at my time of preference. Then I received multiple notifications prior to the service call confirming the date/time and name of technician, Brian, coming to my home, and an email/text with a photo ID of Brian. When he arrived I showed Brian the electrical inspection report/issues from the house purchase, he reviewed that, did his own full inspection, and then laid out multiple service options for me ranging from the most to least expensive. A "no-dicker" final price was clearly listed for each, no matter what other issues, difficulties, time, etc. he might run into for the proposed work. This allowed me to decide whether to have the whole project done at once, or in a series of logical steps based on my urgency and budget. This was not an easy decision, and Brian was very patient as I went back-and-forth with my thoughts and questions. He showed me inside and outside the danger spots, actual rust, water damage, frayed cables, etc. that were at issue. I elected to get the majority of the necessary work done (install an entirely new exterior 'main service' cable/tower apparatus at the meter to the house, and a new contractor-grade elec. panel.) This was expensive, but I knew from prior experience and other contractors was within reasonable price range so I felt no need to get additional quotes from other companies. Then Brian offered to do all the work right THEN, same day, no delays, no additional calls, scheduling, etc.. He had all the parts he needed in his truck for this major job. This was amazing to me, given the scope of the project and gear needed. Brian worked nonstop until 9pm (with a short lunch break) doing all the work inside and out. In the process, his electrical testing equipment indicated a suspicious unknown current-imbalance in the main electrical (neutral) line between our house and the utility pole. He explained to me this could indicate a serious/dangerous problem in the main line (e.g. could be shorting out, or exposed wires, or poor connection at the pole) and we called the Indiana Michigan Power utility-outage number at 6pm. (It's their issue, at that location in the line.) IMP came out around 10pm and repaired the confirmed problem at the utility pole at no cost to me. Point is, I would have had no idea about that exterior utility-line issue, even if I had been capable of doing all the interior electrical work myself. The current-imbalance in the neutral line from the house had not been discovered by the professional house inspector I'd paid for, either. Communication with Brian was excellent throughout, he answered my many curious questions, advised me on my own future remodeling/wiring plans for the house, which will allow me to do as much of the future wiring work as I can myself. He wrote, "Repaired" or "replaced" on each line-item of the summary house-inspection report I'd given him initially, so I knew he'd seen and addressed each issue identified. Responded after hours and stayed until the wee hours to get the job down. Handled permit and inspection the next day, we didn't have to be there. All around positive experience.

Called after 5 pm and phone was answered by a live person. Explained that HVAC was out and system was fine, AEP was out and wiring to house was fine. Had to be in the panel. Brian the technician called as said he would be here in about 45 minutes. Brian showed up in 40 minutes and inspected all aspects of the electrical system. Everything was explained to me. Given a quote to fix all the problems. I could not afford to have everything done on this visit, but was able to have the electric fix with a new main breaker. I take care of my disabled mother and we needed the electric fixed with the heat wave they are predicting for this week and will need the AC. Will be calling and using McCormick's Electrical for all my electrical needs. Thanks for helping me out.

The technician was professional, courteous and friendly throughout the entire 3 hour visit. He was thorough and speedy, though not hasty. He explained all of our options, was respectful and attentive to what we needed and could handle budget-wise, and pleasant to interact with. As promised, before he started the work, he gave an exact price for the service, and that was the exact price that I paid in the end. He had to make a bit of a mess while he was in our house, but he left the work area at least as clean as he found it. I have every confidence that the job was performed with very high quality, and we won't hesitate to call McCormick again should the need arise.

It was a nasty job. Hot water heater went out and when I threw the disconnect switch it caught on fire. This was on a Saturday. McCormick's came out in just a couple of hours and found that the old wiring had been overheated and was damaged. They put in a new breaker box, ran new wiring and conduit and got everything up to code. They worked several hours on a weekend and got the job done right. I will use them again in the future.

I called McCormick about noon on a Friday. Pool pump wasn't working and of course we had company coming for the weekend. As the last 48 hours progressed so did the algae and filth in the pool. I was desperate to get someone to help quick. From the girl on the phone Erin to the service technician Brian McCormick is a class act. They were out within a couple of hours, spent the time necessary to diagnose and fix the problem. ANY and ALL of our electrical service needs will be handled my McCormick from now on.

Phone contact was quick and friendly. THe electrician identified himself, protected my home, did a very thorough evaluation of my current electrical safety. He advised about things that could bring my house up to current standards. The cost of the service was a little more than I thought I would owe after the coupon, however the professional manner and helpful advice that was given outweigh the cost.

Phone call answered pleasantly, electrician arrived promptly, determined the problem quickly and gave me the cost. this is the second of this type of incident, so I knew what to expect. this same company did the previous repair. problems began with faulty equipment making it impossible for the electrician to locate the line. after trying for quite awhile he asked permission to go on another call with the assurance that he would return later that night. true to his word, he called us at 11 pm (the call had proven to be an emergency, and a very involved one at that) and offered to return right away. we told him to go home and get some sleep. he arrived the following morning (Saturday) and was still unable to find the line, and had resorted to digging (this line was buried almost 4 feet deep) by hand to try and find the short. eventually he returned to the shop and recovered a different short locator that was able to find the fault, whereupon the fault was repaired and the holes were all filled in. he was pleasant and cheerful throughout, and did the repair competently and in good time once the problem was located. the price we paid was the original quoted amount, despite the extensive amount of time that was spent on the repair.

They did a wonderful job and came out promptly . He completed the work in about a day and the work has been holding up well since. They were professional. A different service provider had originally recommended their services to me and I also checked them out on Angie’s List and decided to call them. They know what they are doing. I would definitely call them again for service.

One of the positive things with working with McCormick included their responsiveness. They came out very quickly in this emergency situation. Two people completed the work in about 8 hours. They completed the work very well and have not needed to come back out since. They even allowed me to charge my phone in their truck, which was very helpful. They cleaned up well after themselves and had a very professional appearance. I found their prices to be reasonable and our insurance company cover everything electrical. They kept me in the loop on their progress and were right on the money in regards to how long it would take. I would recommend their services to others.

What we learned in this process of working with them is they are very over priced. They did excellent work. Scheduling the appointment was very easy. He offered excellent customer service and was very professional. We would probably not use their services again however because of their pricing.

When they were here they put light switches on backwards and the covers were put on upside down. Also, one of the screws is missing from one the outlet covers. One electrician and a trainee completed the work in about two hours. They were responsive and I felt that they were very nice, friendly, professional and punctual but they didn’t seem as detail oriented as I would have expected. Also, one of the staff had asked me for something to drink when the work was finished and that was awkward.

I did not get other estimates and found, after the fact, their prices to be extremely high. They did move the outlet successful. The quality of the work was good but the outlet is a little crooked. One electrician came out and completed the work in about half a day. While he was professional and courteous I will most likely not use their service again due to their high pricing.
