When the painter recommended by my realtor failed to arrive as promised, I was crushed. I had accepted a bid, taken several days off work and was excited about getting rid of the construction white walls throughout my newly built home.  I should have used Angie' List first.

I selected Excel Painting and Drywall from Angie's List due to their great reviews. I talked to Brian at Excel and explained by dilemma.  He assured me they could help. Within 24 hours, measurements were taken and I received a bid by email. Two days later, the construction white walls were gone! The painters were fast, polite and did a great job at a competitive price. Now I'm proud to invite friends and family to my home.

They came as scheduled, finished the painting.  No mess.  Also removed the front handle and deadbolt.  Also removed the weatherstripping and put it back.  That was so it did not mess up the paint on the door.

A few weeks ago, I had my house repainted by Xcel Painting.  They did such a good job that I decided to call them back to get a quote to repaint a bedroom and a bathroom.  As with the exterior quote, they set an appointment to provide an estimate within two days and arrived promptly at the given time.  They thoroughly explained the process for repainting to me and explained the type of paint that would be used and the warranty that would be provided.  The bathroom needed some drywall repairs because we'd taken down some wallpaper, and it was a nasty job!  They explained how they would repair the drywall so that the surface would be smooth again.  They emailed us  a professional estimate.  The estimate was in the ballpark with other quotes I'd received.  My wife and I decided to use Xcel Painting because of the great experience we had with them on the exterior.  When I called to schedule the job, they told me what day they'd be here, and they showed up as promised.  Their painters were friendly and professional and worked in an efficient manner.  My wife liked that they wore booties so they wouldn't get dirt on our carpeting.  They put tarps on the floors in the rooms painted.  The job was done when they said it would be, and my wife is happy.  My father was a painting contractor, so it's hard to impress me, but these guys did.

I contacted Xcel Painting to provide a quote for exterior painting.  They set an appointment to provide an estimate within two days and arrived promptly at the given time.  They thoroughly explained the process for repainting to me and explained the type of paint that would be used and the warranty that would be provided.  They followed up with a professional estimate which was less than I expected it to be based on other quotes I had received.  I scheduled the job with them, and they came on the designated day.  Their painters were friendly and professional and worked in an efficient manner.  They placed tarps on bushes and landscaping to ensure that any debris from scraping didn't fall in bushes and other landscaping.  The job was done in the time specified.  They did a great job!   I was so impressed with their services that I have retained them to do some interior painting for me as well.

My experience with them was outstanding.  They were very good.  Their service, work ethics and professionalism were outstanding.  They were punctual and responsive to my needs.  They do very good work and I will recommend them to anybody.

They were way too pricey for us.  I know he would have done a great job and he was very nice.  He was very quick to respond and very quick back with the bid.  We didn’t use him because we weren’t prepared to spend quite that amount of money.  It was a lot more than we could afford.  What he was trying to do was a lot.

Working with Brian Webster and the rest of Xcel staff was a pleasure. The  paint job was excellent, owed to the time they take to thoroughly prep the surfaces.  The resurfaced kitchen cabinets look amazing.  I could not be more pleased with the outcome.

They communicated very well due to the rain and they did a great job. They showed up on time. They are very reasonably priced for an excellent job.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do, exactly when they said they were going to do it and charged me exactly what they said they were going to charge me.  The staff was friendly and professional.  Brian was on site both days to check the progress.  I will use them again without getting a second estimate.

Brian, Miguel, and all the folks from XCel painting exceeded my expectations throughout the entire process. I can't say enough good things about my experience.   I emailed Brian before I even owned the home and he quickly gave me a ball park cost estimate. When he came out for the quote, he was the most professional and knowledgeable out of all the quotes I received.  He took the time to explain in detail the process of painting all existing stained wood trim, base boards, windows, doors, built-ins, and kitchen cabinets.  The sample for the cabinets he provided was by far the most helpful compared to others I saw and was exactly what my wife and I were looking for.  

Xcel started the job almost immediately (quote on Thursday, job started on Sat.).  We were told it could take up to 3 weeks, and when it was finished in less than 2 weeks, we were thrilled as it meant we could move into our new home early.  Each time I stopped at the house, the crew was always working hard, took the time to protect the interior of the house and explained exactly where they were in the process.  Brian went above and beyond his role as a painter; finding a trim carpenter on short notice and limited budget to adjust a cabinet to fit a new microwave.  When I asked for the island to be painted a different color than the cabinets, it was no problem . . .and it looks beautiful!

The end result was nothing short of incredible.  The lacquer spray system used made the woodwork, cabinets and built-ins look brand new (as if they were always supposed to be the gleaming white)!  Every wall was perfectly painted with the colors we chose.  Most impressively, our custom kitchen cabinets and built-ins around the fireplace came out perfect.  Every person who sees them comments on how great they look, and I know that the lacquer will give the longevity that we needed.  

The quality and service I received from Xcel Painting was honestly perfect.  I can't find one thing to complain about and would recommend Brian and his team to any friend, family member or stranger who will listen.

Workers arrived on time, covered everything,built paint booth in Kitchen and Bathrooms, did an extremely good job.Workers were very professional and courteous. Cleaned up after themselves.

After hearing from three different painters that it would be impossible to completely cover the wood grain in my kitchen cabinets I was considering buying new cabinets, which was very expensive at 17,000- 20,000 and really not the road I wanted to go down. My cabinets were in good condition and my problem with them was mostly cosmetic. Then I heard about Brian Webster - he came and looked at my cabinets and said he could cover the oak grain -hurray! Brian prepared me for the amount of work, mess, and smells involved (sanding, several coats of lacquer then the painting and glazing) . After it was all complete I was absolutely thrilled with the results. Neighbors thought I put in new cabinets and even when family members came for the holidays they thought my cabinets were new. Brian was great to work with and his crew was very professional, courteous and always showed up when they said. I just can't say enough good things about Brian and the results we got from his work - would highly recommend to anyone looking to update their cabinets.

Xcel Painting delivered as promised. Excellent outcome and service throughout. Lacquering was more expensive than anticipated, but few in the area have the skill to make refinished cabinets look like they came straight from the factory. You get what you pay for. Be sure to cover ALL of your furniture with blankets or tarps if you undertake a cabinet refinishing project.

The building hired them for the inside of the house and I called them back out for the exterior. He is a neighbor of mine and I know him personally. Because he painted the house originally and did an okay job, I hired him to put another coat of paint on it. He caulked all of the joints and repainted the entire exterior of the house.

The crew was timely and professional. They had a great work ethic and the overall result was superb. The cost was reasonable and the job was completed quickly and efficiently. I would definitely hire this company again and would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent service. In an era where customer service is lacking, this company is a bright spot.

They cleaned up after themselves well.

They did a terrible job. They damaged some of the carpeting because they didn't put down drop cloths. We had to have spot cleaning done in several areas of the carpet. I have someone else doing some finish painting for me and she looked at the job Excel did and said the reason it looks so bad is that they didn't stir the paint. We have to have our entire staircase restained because they missed areas and did a poor job. He tried to charge an extremely high price and the superintendent of the building job told them that was unacceptable, but we still ended up paying more than the initial estimate. They used the wrong paint for the exterior doors so we have to have that redone as well.
