The point to my poor rating is Machelle's lack of transparency. I would not use this company again.
"Solutions Home Staffing has been a thriving local agency for 15 years with many happy clients. Most people come to my service via positive word-of-mouth from referral families. Just look at NextDoor or Google to see a different point of view. The nanny that this family hired did have her profile active on a Care job board - as do many nannies seeking work. My agency had pre-screened this nanny and sent her to meet the family (daughter & her Mother/Granny). After interviews had been conducted, the Granny wanted to circumvent the agency fee post-facto - even though the search was successful. If a client meets a candidate, via my screening and search, they cannot cancel the contract and approach the candidate on their own not paying the agency fee. This is what the Granny was attempting to do. Fortunately, I have a good relationship with nannies and they are transparent when a client is trying to back-door agency terms and skirt expected finders fees. Having a profile also on Care.com does not mean the nanny was not pre-screened and vetted by higher Agency standards. I personally interview and check the credibility of references, background and work experience on every candidate’s resume. Many people actively seeking a new job are hunting through various channels. Many, many of those who apply to SHS agency do not make the cut. Screening out the best, top-tier educated nanny takes skill, time and effort. This is the service my agency provides. Clearly, this family was happy with their hire, but did not value the rigorous vetting that takes place to offer a quality short-list of great candidates in a matter of a couple of days. Top candidates, time savings and thorough vetting is what my service is about. I do not claim to have an exclusive representation of job seekers. As for my fee, hiring domestic staff through an agency is not for the economically disadvantaged - or those trying to dishonestly wheedle out of payment after a quality nanny is found and hired. This lady’s nasty review is being disgruntled that she could not get my service for nothing and the nanny would not play along with her plan to cheat me."
