ServPro was very quick to respond to my call on a Saturday when I discovered water on the floor in my condo. They quickly worked with my insurance to ensure coverage before removing any impacted materials and mitigated the water issue. They were very professional and diligent and continued to check in daily until the impacted areas had dried out. I was throughly impressed with their communication, both with me and my adjuster, and their scheduling flexibility. Jake did an amazing job and really put me at ease when I was dealing with a stressful situation. I hope to never have water issues again, but if I do, I know exactly who I will call.

This review is more than a year late. It has taken us that long to first materially, then, mentally recover from the repair/restoration of our house. After all the work was done we were so mentally shot that we did not want to revisit our experience for a while. But we had maintained a running account of the events, which is the basis of this review.

In Feb of last year we woke up to find that a supply line to our kitchen sink had detached and  leaked water all over. We got a plumber to fix the leak. Afterwards we called our insurance company - Amica. They sent over this company ServPro to do the remediation. It was determined that the water had also got into the dining room, half-bath, back foyer, down the basement stairs, etc. This was a Friday. ServPro set up a number of fans and a couple of dehumidifiers in all the affected areas, and these things ran all through the weekend.

The following Monday, we had a meeting of sorts with an Amica claims agent, and a ServPro manager. Unsurprisingly, our claims agent had worked with this ServPro unit/manager before. ServPro said they would need to rip up the floor and some of the dry wall of the affected areas to get at the water. Now, it had occurred to us that despite the broken pipe spewing water long enough to damage all these adjacent areas, there had been relatively little visible water in even the Kitchen. Obviously, we reasoned, a lot of the water had gone down the air vent that was near the sink, maybe down other vents too. It seemed to us that the air ducts running in the crawl space underneath were now probably full of water. We brought this issue up with much concern during the meeting, and looked to the cleaning unit lead for his assessment. He said there hadn't been much damage in the crawlspace, he saw only minor puddles. We were not convinced, but no worries, the ServPro manager told us, things will become clear as they remove floors and dry walls.

Next day (Tuesday) ServPro started to rip out the floors. I asked the team lead plainly that day if he had in fact gone inside the crawl space. He had not, he conceded, but he will do so soon. That night I went into the crawl space myself -- and encountered a pretty sordid sight. There were more than a few puddles. The air duct tubes were saturated with water and were heavily sagging. A couple of tubes had even torn off and fallen to the ground. We complained to our claims agent who got in touch with the ServPro manager. The manager at first said the crawl space should be fine(!). When we insisted it is not, he said, he didn't have the right-sized person to visit the crawl space just yet. It got to a point where we had a third party come, visit the crawl space, and document the damage for us. We have videos of water pouring out of test holes the inspector made in a couple of air ducts. Finally, that Friday, a right-sized person from ServPro went into the crawl space, and confirmed everything we had found, at which point they set about drying the crawl space. We had realized by now that we could not trust ServPro at all, and told our claims agent that we would get someone else to fix up the crawlspace air ducts/tubes. The whole point of water remediation as soon as possible is to ensure that mold doesn't set in. Crawlspace can be particularly susceptible to moisture. It took a whole week to get ServPro to act, and frankly, if we hadn't taken considerable initiative and challenged them, there is no doubt in my mind they would have done nothing about it. This thought really, really turned us off.

Also, this third-party we had hired to cross-check ServPro's work had pointed out another disaster. They said, none of the air vents in the affected area had been sealed prior to the tearing up of the floors. They said the tearing had probably released copious amounts of dust/dirt a great deal of which had gone down the vents! They also pointed out ServPro should have put protection/curtained off the work area to spare other parts of the house. Indeed, we looked around and found that our family room next to the kitchen had a coating of dust -- all our art pieces, electronics, furniture etc. In addition, the workers were careless in places, causing some damage, all of which we had to report and have addressed later. For example they removed the kitchen sink and placed it directly on our family room carpet -- without any plastic underneath! Well, they had failed to seal off/detach the soap dispenser. Over time, unseen to the eye, all the soap leaked into our carpet, leaving a nasty stain that we have failed to get out.

When ServPro had first arrived on the scene they had got me to sign a feedback form that said they had arrived promptly, assessed the situation, informed us of what confronted us, etc. to our statisfaction. When they were done with their drying up work, I was asked in the same passing manner to sign another feedback form, this time on their drying work -- you don't really need to fill it up, you can just sign it. This time I had my wits about me and I passed on the feedback form.

When one ends up for the first time in a situation such as the one we found ourselves in, one is quite vulnerable, and dependent on the "experts" to assess and address the problem. In our case we found we were almost entirely on our own, and that we could not trust any of the parties concerned. In the end, I could say with sad confidence, our house was nothing to these people. They couldn't care less for it. There was no empathy just cold, hard calculation about what aspects of the problem can be neglected without consequence, what aspects can be monetized, how soon they can process us and move on etc. And though this is a lesson we frequently learn in life, it continues to hurt.

We have not rated this company on the cost since the insurance company paid for it.

Jim explained the whole process and told us what we could do to help, ie cleaning up all of our wet belongings in the storage area. He came back several times to check how things were drying out. It took 7 days. We paid Servpro our insurance deductible and our insurance company will pay them the balance. They were so good at keeping us informed and completing the work.

The overall process could have been a nightmare, instead, Servpro made it relatively stress free!

I had some sewage backup in my home from the city lines the night before. I called them out to take a look and let me know what needed to be done. The two guys who showed up, (Dave and Dave I think) were professional and honest. Since my Insurance company left me in the cold (Eire, read your policy!) they were sympathetic that this was coming out of my pocket. It turned out that the damage was not as bad as I thought, and they advised that I could do most of the cleanup myself. They tested the walls and advised me as to where there was moisture, and I was able to perform the work myself, saving hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars. I have no experience in this type of work, so they could have easily exploited this and took me for as much as they wanted to. These guys are first class all the way.

I was so impressed with this company! I had a water heater leak that had damaged the laminate flooring and carpeting in several rooms of my home. They responded within 2 hours of my call and got to work immediately, removing the wet and damaged flooring and setting up 3 industrial fans and a dehumidifier. They came back each morning to check the moisture levels until everything was dry.
Everyone I've dealt with from ServPro is just super to work with -- from Jake, the technician, to Andy, the estimater, to Troy, the construction guy. They were very professional and took great care of the clean up. I am using them to do the repair/replacement work as well, and I am confident that I will be just as satisfied with that work as I am with the water mitigation.
I wouldn't hesitate to use ServPro again and will highly recommend them to others. I am one super satisfied customer so far!!

We had a pipe burst and it flooded our living room and we had to give them a call at 2 am. They got here pretty fast which surprised me and the guy was so nice to come out at 3 in the morning. It was awesome. They came and checked out the work. He did an awesome job. The guy from Servpro had actually come over when the drywall and paint guy came out showed them what to do and explained everything to them. He was just very polite and pleasant. He was nice and on time. We were charged a little bit more because it was in the night and it was an emergency. The person who was handling our case was out last week and Monday was his first day back and we were supposed to have the drywall guy out on Monday at 9, and I finally called at 11. The guy who we were dealing apologized as they had some backup with the drywall because people stop letting them dry out due to the humidity. Also, he was out all week; so he wasn't able to tell the people.

They were fabulous! They came the same night, came back every day to check on the status, hauled the wet carpet away, and have been very helpful. They have given us good, solid advise on how to prevent more destruction, and have helped us keep costs down, since our insurance (Allstate - check your policy) isn't covering a cent.

I called a local company from Angie's list and did not get a call back. Understandable I guess because lot's of people were flooded - it was the first of many rainfalls this year. By the end of the first day of waiting I was getting nervous so I called ServPro. They answered called me back shortly and committed they would be out the next day. The called the next day and said it would be late in the day but they would be there. About 4:00 two people showed up, Merideth and Dave. They expained what had to be done and we accepted their plan. They then worked until late that night removing the carpet and installing drying machines. They came back the next day to check the situation and removed some drywall to aid in the drying. They then came back a third time to check. Finally everything was dry and they removed their equipment. These two guys worked hard , effeciently and with a positive attitude. They are a credit to ServPro. When I got the bill (I had no idea, only trust) I was pleasantly surprised at the price. The did not take advantage of me. The price was fair and the service was absolutely excellant.

Very well. Everyone was professional and punctual even though their company was busy from the ice dam and flooding that was occurring in the city. The job was done correctly and the insurance company worked well with their company.

We did not know who to use. They helped us find companies for everything. Andy was out every day checking on things making sure everything was going smoothly. He stayed on top of every employee to make sure they were doing their job right. I have no complaints about the job they did for us. I would recommend them to build a house. One of the biggest things that stood out to me and really impressed me was before they were even hired for this job, it was time for me to leave and I can’t get out of my front door by myself because I am in a wheelchair. Andy was busy, but noticed that I was struggling to get out of my house and came over immediately to help me out. When it came time to find somebody, I chose them. This was such an emotional experience, but Andy made it alright.

They are like all water restoration companies. They told me what it could cost. They asked me to pay the cost and then take it from the insurance. The price did not come to the amount quoted as they estimated it more. They did refund my money though. Although they refunded they overcharged me. I said I am not even going to turn it in as I am not going to meet my deductable. I called their secretary and complained about it. They were honest in the end and refunded my money. They were there when they said they are going to be.

The flood was a horrible experience. Sewage debris was all over everything in my basement. Servpro arrived the next morning (Saturday) after the flood and went right to work removing the contaminated items, walls, and carpet. Before they began to clean, they put plastic and tarps down on my upstairs carpet so that it would not get ruined as well. I greatly appreciated that. They then cleaned everything and setup fans to dry out my basement. Much of my possessions were ruined and had to be hauled away. I don't know what I would have done without State Farm and Servpro.

Although it took several days for them to show up (due to high volume of people affected by this storm), once they did arrive they were very professional. Explained various services they could provide. We opted for them to do water extraction from our carpet. They used a very effective piece of equipment that took almost all of the water out after the first pass. Very happy with service.
