Previously worked with Sage Construction on a handful of small jobs. Provided great service on them, so decided to hire Sage Construction to finish our basement. Glad we did. Andy did an excellent job and will definitely continue to use his services. Pricing is competitive. Knowledge is excellent. His communication skills are top notch.

Andy did an excellent job repairing a section of our granite counter top that came loose after my 6'3", 230lb sophomore decided to jump on it. He was very responsive and quickly came out to repair the drywall and ensure the granite company properly re-set the granite in place. He also repaired some drywall work in our stairwell and it turned out great.

Andy, of Sage Construction, did a fantastic job on finishing our basement. He has great design ideas, he is very professional and his carpentry skills are excellent. His crew cleaned up at the end of each day so there was minimal dust/dirt spread through the rest of the house. He went above and beyond in some areas helping us to customize the basement for our needs. His subs were very professional and did a great job and Andy was always around to make sure they did the job right and on time.

Andy and the Sage team of subcontractors did the usual outstanding work we've come to expect from them from completing other projects in the past. Andy came with ideas and suggestions and wasn't just going to complete what we thought we wanted done - he's very collaborate and the open dialogue always leads to the most optimal outcome. He's very creative and easy to work with and communicates very well from start to finish. He is a man of high integrity - he noticed some of the tile work in the shower wasn't 100% perfect and up to his standards. Rather than keeping this to himself (most homeowners would not have likely noticed this but coincidentally my wife and her keen eye had also noticed) and seeing if we would notice, he proactively brought it to our attention and informed us he was going to have a complete redo to ensure it was up to his quality standards. Andy and his team are always very punctual, organized, and focused on providing an excellent customer experience. Additionally, they are meticulous when it comes to cleaning up work areas at the end of each day. Andy will continue to be our go-to contractor for significant home projects.

Overall it was an excellent experience and we are very happy with the final outcome. The workers from Sage were very professional, punctual, and work hard to make sure the outcome meets the client expectations. They were very careful in removing cabinets that were to be reinstalled later in the project, worked diligently to make sure new popcorn celing texture blended in well with the existing ceiling, and made numerous and careful measurements to make sure a new window would blend nicely in a new location. The work crew were punctual, went out of their way to clean up the work site daily and complete the project in a timely manner in order to minimize the time we were without a kitchen. I would highly recommend Sage Construction to others.

Since this really wasn't a conventional light fixture, but a blown glass fixture, we had to brainstorm on a way to actually hang it to make it look right. Andy Peabody came over and we discussed different ideas about how to best make the fixture fit in the space. He went off and found some rods and a mount to extend the fixture down so that it would look right in our high entry way. It really now looks perfect where it is.
Andy is very good at looking at a space and coming up with ideas to make it look right. His work is high quality and he doesn't stop until the job is done right.
The only "complaint" is that you have to wait to get his time sometimes. He's very busy. But that's for a good reason. He's very good. So if you are willing to wait a bit on the job, I highly recommend Sage because the results are typically worth the wait.

Removal of bookcase was precise and careful so that wood could be recycled or used as a bookcase by Habitat for Humanity.
Construction material was measured, painted and prepared before getting to site. Installation was perfect. Andy recognized that file drawers were not the ones he ordered so he contacted provider to construct as ordered without additional charge to us.

This all transpired over the past couple of years. First Sage Construction built our screen porch and did an excellent job. Andy Peabody, the owner, even installed a cat door to the porch at no extra charge even though I got the wrong kind he made it work. My kitties love it, thank you.. The porch itself was $9000+ and the lowest of the bids we got. Everyone he had working was pleasant and did a good job. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and I highly recommend a bid from them. They did everything they could to make it a pleasant experience.
Next we had them back to paint our interior walls. Again they did a good job and at a reasonable price. Now, we had a plumbing issue and Andy came out to look at it and said we needed to call the plumber. We did and then Andy came back to repair our walls
which was very nice of him as it is just a small job. Thanks, Andy.
Overall we have no real complaints and would certainly recommend Sage Construction.

The project went very well, am totally pleased with the bathroom. Andy walked me through the process and provided websites to visit to help me pick out finishes and fixtures. The tile vendor he directed me to was very helpful and made the selection process easy. The crews that did the work were professional and friendly. Have a lot of trust in the quality of work performed. Andy was very thorough in every detail.

All went according to plan. only delay was getting specialized doors from vendor in on time. During the wait time, Andy stayed in contact giving us status updates. All in all, whole process took less than 10 days. Very happy with execution and outcome. Will use again.

The final product was borderline satisfactory, but the process was painful. The subcontractors that Sage used were not professional.

Andy was truly impressive in all facets of this job. The reason that I was looking at Sage was to remind me of Andy's information. I am hoping to do some more work in the home.

Kitchen was gutted and remodeled. Old cabinets, electric range, dishwasher, sink and electrical fixtures were removed and stored in our garage. Andy made arrangements and supervised pick-up of these articles by Habitat for Humanity. Old refrigerator was picked up by IPL. Three different layers of old linoleum were removed. Areas where insulation was needed was insulated. New cabinets were installed. New lighting fixtures both in ceiling and under new cabinets were installed. Andy subcontracted the installation of the gas line to facilitate a gas stove top, the installation of flooring, application of counter tops, and tile work above the counters. He arranged the timing of those subcontractors and inspected the work to insure that it met his high standards. There were never week days when no work was done on the project. At the end of each work day the area was cleaned and organized.
Time estimated to complete the project was three weeks and all work was completed in that time.
Andy and his crew are professional and their work displays his high standards. I have recommended Sage Construction to friends and will certainly use them again for any home improvements.

We can not say enough about our experience with Andy and his crew at Sage Construction. After interviewing several other contractors we knew we had found the right fit upon our first meeting. While we had heard and experienced with friends some awful projects with contractors - we can assure you that Andy is nothing like the rest. He is passionate about his work and it shows. He is professional and on time with appointments and remained on schedule for our project's timeline - which only took 6 weeks.
Andy was very patient and kind through the entire process - he has a unique ability to truly listen and absorb all of your thoughts and ideas and create a drawing or design that is better than you imagined. His experience and creative eye provides a great attention to detail as well as his understanding of the functionality of space. He is willing to share and express his opinion with grace, only when he believes it is best for the project or if there is an opening of doubt in your own mind. Though we found his ideas to be spot-on and always welcome. He and his crew were respectful of our home and our time and made themselves open to ideas and changes as we worked through the project, as well.
In the case of our remodel there were times that he subcontracted some of the work to others, who were also the same caliber of craftsmen and person. Andy was also able to guide us to vendors (in-person and online) to select materials - and understood the areas that were important to us as far as quality and those that were more price driven.
Some of the best features of our remodel were items that Andy built himself. We showed him photos and described ideas for some build-in cabinets, a reading nook and an entertainment center. These are all truly the gems of our new basement. They are beautifully made and crafted by this very skilled craftsman and crew.
We have no hesitation in recommending Andy and Sage Construction to any of our friends and family - and they will be the first ones we call when our next project comes along.

We interviewed 3 general contractors about a proposed addition to our home. We made the decision to use Andy Peabody with Sage Construction, Inc. We signed the contract on April 15, 2013. Work began shortly after we received approval from our Homeowner's Association's Architectural Review Committee. Gaining the approval proved to be the most difficult part of the whole process; but Mr. Peabody was very patient working with us to obtain the go-ahead from the committee.
Mr. Peabody was on-site, hands-on throughout the entire build. He and his crew were very polite and professional throughout the building process. A few changes were made from the original plan; but Andy was always very willing to do whatever we wanted. The team was very careful about cleaning up at the end of every day - particularly at the end of the work day on Fridays, when they knew they would not be returning until the following Monday.
Construction did take a little longer than we originally anticipated -- partly due to the weather. Mainly though, I think it was just due to everyone being very particular about making certain that everything was done correctly. There was also some delay due to the type of windows & door that we insisted we wanted used on the 3-season porch. The first door the manufacturer sent seemed to be damaged and, although Mr. Peabody worked on it numerous times, in the end it had to be completely replaced (at Mr. Peabody's expense, I might add).
Once the porch project was completed, a new concrete patio was installed outside of the porch. Sage Construction did a beautiful job of providing us with a stamped, decorative concrete patio.
We were very impressed with the work done on the original porch & patio project -- enough so that we asked Mr. Peabody to return to do some other smaller projects for us. They did some plumbing jobs - installing a new toilet in the master bath and a utility sink in the garage. They also installed a storm door and added crown moulding in 3 areas of the home.
We now have them lined up to return after the holidays to do some interior painting for us. We may have another project, or two, to also ask them about doing for us.
We highly recommend Andy Peabody and Sage Construction, Inc.

This was my first major remodel and was a bit nervous, but there was no need to worry Sage was great. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves everyday, friendly, courteous, answered every question, and respectful of my budget. The finished kitchen is beautiful, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I will be using them again in the future and have given their name to friends.
