Eric and his team just finished our basement remodel. They have done an incredible job. It looks great, and, in spite of the obstacles that had been put in our way by the home builders, Eric got the project immediately back on track, and finished by the original timeline we discussed. Eric and his crew were great and our basement came out perfect. They work very hard and do quality work. We also added on a couple of items not in basement and they completed them and at the end Eric did not charge us. If you need any work done you should hire Eric and his crew.

Throughout the estimation/bidding process the owner, Eric Miller, was extremely responsive and answered every question we had, typically within 24 hours. After some back and forth, we arrived at an agreement and work started about 5 weeks later which was almost exactly when he told us we'd be slotted into his work schedule. He had taken measurements of the opening and then ordered the doors/transoms himself as well as matching door knobs to the others in our home. Obviously, it was critical that his measurements were accurate so that the doors/transoms would fit the opening without requiring a lot of unnecessary tearing up of the molding/drywall. It took one long day to perform the whole project which is what Eric had estimated. Eric arrived when he said he would with his crew following a short time later. The work area was covered with protective coverings and the crew immediately started the job. Eric remained for nearly 2 hours to ensure his guys knew what he wanted them to do. He was then in and out the rest of the day...I never felt like he spent too much time away or that his crew didn't know what they were supposed to do. Eric definitely spent more time on our job than he did away. The end result was fantastic! The transoms and doors looked like original construction, i.e., you would have sworn that they were installed when the house was originally built (in 2016). They just did a beautiful job...my wife, who is often very hard to please, was thrilled with the results...it was exactly what she and I had envisioned. We would highly recommend Eric and his crew for any remodeling job and would certainly use them on anything further that we would do in our home. He embodied the 3 things I value the most: responsiveness/communication, trust in his word, and high quality work.

Eric and his crew were excellent. Eric was professional and was great at communicating with us. He started early ended on time and did quality work. His pricing was fair and he worked with our budget. He and his crew were clean and very easy to work with. I will call him again for any construction needs.

Eric came highly recommended from many of our neighbors. We had an excellent experience with his company and would definitely recommend him. He had some great ideas for the basement and was very easy to work with. One of the things that impressed me most was that he did not just oversee everything, but he was here working. They showed up on time and were here nearly every day. They cleaned up daily and made sure there was always paper down from the front door to basement. He was always available for questions when we were out shopping for supplies. He didn't make you buy from certain vendors, so that was a big key for us. Austin was meticulous with his tilework. We've had a lot of tilework done and I was impressed with his attention to detail. I work from home and they were not a distraction at all. They got the job done in the amount of time quoted. He also did not nickel and dime us for everything. Our staircase railing was a complete pain and they did not complain or add additional labor charges. I would not hesitate to use them for any project in the future.

Preferred Custom Remodeling was great and I would recommend them to anyone. They had the most complete quote of four contractors I requested. They truly listened to what we wanted to accomplish with the space and they did a fantastic job. There price was extremely competitive and their team was professional and hard working every day. We were extremely pleased with the work done by Preferred Remodeling. They finished our basement, including a bed/bath, rec room, and fitness room. Eric and his crew were professional and punctual and the quality of their craftsmanship was outstanding. We were particularly impressed with their responsiveness and attention to detail. Eric was here nearly every day and use of subcontractors was minimal. They were very flexible with some changes that we made along the way. We would definitely hire again.

Everything went great! Eric and his crew were always ON TIME and they were very pleasant to work with. Before leaving each and every day, the work area was always cleaned! First off, this review is long overdue. We hired Eric to finish our basement after interviewing 5 different providers. He was very reasonable with his pricing, explained in clear detail what he intended to do, and listened to our requests. He provided great insight and clearly had experience finishing basements. Eric also worked with us to custom make a kids play area under the stairway which turned out fantastic. He was also onsite almost every single day to make sure things were done right and he did a lot of the work himself. They finished on time, no delays, and he even came back to touch things up a couple of times after completion at no cost. I would highly recommend Eric and will use again for future jobs.

Our Experience with Eric and his crew was exceptional.  From start to finish our expectations were exceeded.  They were always very punctual, professional and courteous.  They paid very close attention to every detail. They made sure to protect the floors etc during the project and cleaned everything up every evening! Eric is very knowledgeable about every aspect of the process. He took care of all of the permits needed.  Eric made sure that the finished project was exactly what we wanted and personally really outdid himself making it perfect!  We would without a doubt use Eric again for any future remodeling projects.  We highly recommend him!

Eric and his crew did an excellent job of transforming our dated & storage challenged kitchen into a modern one with functional cabinetry.    Our kitchen had a huge refrigerator that blocked access to several cabinets and almost half our counter space.  Eric, his Designer at Lowes, and we put together a plan to take some space from the living room and turn it into a cabinetry and refrigerator area.    All cabinets, countertop, backsplash, sink, faucets, and appliances were replaced.    The new refrigerator and cabinet area required some difficult framing and drywall construction.  The finished product looks like it was part of original house.   Eric and his crews showed up on time, performed their work in a professional manner, and cleaned up after themselves.  Eric impressed us by being very responsive when contacted, easy to work with and incorporating changes without adding cost.  We were pleased enough with Preferred Custom Remodeling  to ask Eric to add a 4 seasons room to our house this fall.

Eric did a terrific job. Our basement was unfinished and did not have plumbing roughed-in or any framing. We wanted a basement design to include a great room, bedroom, wet bar and a full bathroom. Eric assisted us with a design that met our needs and provided a lot of great ideas to customize it. Throughout the entire process, Eric was very flexible and easy to work with. We are extremely pleased with our finished basement and the quality of the workmanship.

He does excellent work in a timely manner and is very pleasant to work with.

We obtained quotes from 4 companies that conduct remodeling and finish basements.  PCR's quote was approximately 25% less than two larger-scale remodeling companies.  Their quote was slightly less than a similarly sized company.  We chose to go with PCR because when Eric came-out to quote-out the job, I could tell that he knew what he was doing based upon the types of questions he was asking and the information he was providing about potential layout options.
Our basement is 1300 square feet and we finished approximately 1100 square feet.  PCR had quoted a timeline of 4 - 6 weeks.  They had the job completed within 4 weeks (1 week framing, 1.5 weeks drywall, 1.5 weeks cabinets/flooring/painting/etc.).
From the start of the project, Eric was extremely accessible to all questions/requests.  For example, we could email him at 10:00 p.m. and be confident to receive a follow-up or know that he was working on the request the following morning.
When we drew-up our blue-print, Eric stated that we would go off the blueprint, but he would accommodate small change requests as needed.  I can attest that he could not be more accommodating.  We made multiple small changes throughout the project and he did not charge us for any extras or change fees.
.Overall, Eric was extremely easy to work with.  He is very straight-forward and honest.  His crew was respectful and friendly.  
The end-product far exceeded our expectations.  We could have asked for a better company to finish our basement.  We had an excellent experience! 

Eric came out to give a quote for the finishing of the basement.  I, at the time, was getting quite a few quotes.  With a quick turn around we scheduled another meeting to go over his quote.  The quote was a little higher than some of the others I had received and did not provide flooring.  At the time I decided to pass and continue my venture getting quotes.  I finally decided to go ahead and take care of the design of the basement.  The design included a full bathroom with a separate Media room, storage area, kitchenette and pool table area.   I then proceeded to provide that up front to all prospective bidders.  When all was said and done I just felt a comfort level with Eric based upon having seen is work prior in person.  I also appreciated that he handled all the permits with respects to a project of this scale.  I went ahead and called him out so we could negotiate a little further.  At the end of that meeting we compromised on a number that was beneficial to both of us.  I paid an $800 deposit to get on his schedule and he told me he would be in touch with a start date.  About a week passed and Eric called me to set up the start date.   They started on Monday, June 24th and within a week they had completely framed the basement and had scheduled the rough in inspection. In that one week they also ran all electrical and plumbing lines.  The following week was the 4th of July so we decided to hold off that week.  The week following the 4th the drywallers began the installation process.   Eric uses a separate crew for the drywall installation.  They were very professional, on time and we never really heard a peep from the lower level.  The drywall took a couple of weeks with respects to drying time, sanding, etc.  Once the drywall was complete Eric's crew came back to finalize the HVAC, plumbing, electrical as well as paint.  They then started on the finishing touches- tile installation in bathroom, laminate flooring, cable runs, media wire installation.  He also does the finishing paint as well. He provided us with a paint allowance so we could go pick our colors and have it ready for his crew to paint.  The cabinets also went in during this time period.  Once the finishing paint was complete I began the process of having the carpet installed.  Once the carpet was installed as well as the countertops Eric came back for a couple of days to do touch ups and finish the final plumbing hook ups.   He allowed us some time to mark all areas that we felt needed to be sanded or painted again.  He never said anything about the touch ups, he just handled everything.  That took a couple of days and the final inspection was scheduled.  The basement passed with no issues and I paid Eric the final installment.  The job was complete and they did a fantastic job!!  Eric even repaired the wall where the delivery men had damaged during installation of the refrigerator.  He was very easy going, a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone for basement work or even general contracting.  He always had ideas for improvement and was always open to changes.  The total completion time was about 6 weeks.  His crew was very clean, put down tarps as to not damage our upper floors.

The final cost was same as the initial estimate.

I would have liked more time for review after and during framing.
The whole job was done in 2 weeks and 3 days. Basement size was around 960 sq ft.

I cannot say enough good things about Eric and his crew.  Eric came and looked at our space, helped us to design the layout and provided a comprehensive quote.  There were no hidden costs, everything was right there on the quote.  Their work was fantastic.  He used high quality products which really shows in the end result.  His crew is timely, friendly, hard working, courteous and always cleaned up after themselved!  Our basement looks fantastic due to the care they put into their work. 
We would not hesitate to use Eric and his staff again on another project - in fact, he would be the only one we would call!

Eric was awesome to work with. I was doing much of the project myself, but I wanted a professional for a few of the things I wasn't comfortable doing (the plumbing most notably and the drywall just because it is a pain). He was more than willing to work with me as a DIYer plus he gave me a few great tips along the way.

We are very pleased with our finished basement.  The Preferred staff were very friendly and professional, hardworking, and their finished product is of excellent quality.  They cleaned up after themselves and were prompt and timely for work appointments.  We also appreciated it very much that Preferred handled all aspects of the Carmel City permitting process including arranging for the two required inspections (at rough-in and completion).  This is noteworthy as Carmel regulations require such a permit be obtained for a basement remodeling job but we found that several other companies on Angie's List who provided us bids were unwilling to obtain the necessary permits (apparently these other outfits prefer to work without a permit).

Eric looked at our space and listened to our ideas, but also provided some really good suggestions that we are glad we did.  His quote was comprehensive and very competitive with the other bids we received for the same job. 
Eric and his crew are true professionals.  They were timely, honest, and courteous.  They provided a custom space at affordable price.   Their work was top quality and there were no hidden charges.  We are so pleased with our new space.  We would definately use Eric and his crew again to upgrade other parts of our home.
