Glen called within 12 hours of my voice mail and we arranged a time for him to come out and assess the damage. He showed up when he said he would/gave me his proposal and we agreed on when he would complete repairs (weather permitting). He called ahead to let me know the weather was right and came out to make the repairs the next day. All went exactly as expected.
Description of Work: Replaced shingles due to storm damage.

+ -1 moreGlen was the only roofer we called about this problem to take the hose up on the roof to see where water was getting into the house. Turns out it was running over a gable instead of going down to the gutter like it was supposed to. My husband made the suggestion for a fix (a diverter, so to speak) and Glen made the device, installed it, and painted it the same color as the house so it wouldn't look too odd from the street. It works! We have had no more water leaks since.
Description of Work: Glen has done some other roof repairs for us. This time, after having a new roof installed by another roofer, we had a major water leak in our living room. Glen figured out where the water was getting in and constructed a device to prevent it from happening in the future.

+ 0 moreGlen was prompt in returning calls; he showed up when promised; kept us informed of his progress and schedule; was polite; was knowledgeable about his work; worked hard and diligently to get the job done with the least inconvenience and mess for us as possible. The next heavy rain will be the litmus test for the leaking roof, but it appears he has done a good and professional job, and he also was meticulous in his cleanup. I would recommend him and would use his services again. His cost was more than the original estimate by $650 due to the extensive rot found in the decking and framing when he removed the shingles.
Description of Work: Glen tore out and repaired rotten decking and framing on the roof; put on new Weathershield and shingles; reattached some loose flashing and trim; did some caulking and miscellaneous general roof and chimney repair and maintenance.

+ -1 moreThe company that I usually use for this problem (occurs from time to time) was not available for several days. Cold, rainy weather was expected to return so I called several AL choices. Glen Lee Gainey agreed to come out that same day as the rain was expected that evening. While his price seemed higher than I would have expected based on my past experiences, he was willing to come right out, and he was professional and neat. I felt fortunate to have his help in a pinch.

+ -1 moreWe called Gainey Roofing to get an estimate on repair of a leak which caused ceiling damage in our living room. He was prompt in coming out, checked the roof, flashing, etc., and then said that the roof should probably be replaced and was too large a job for him since he specializes in repairs. He gave us the names of companies in which he had confidence. We checked his list with "Angie's List" and scheduled estimates. Mr. Gainey went above and beyond (we think) because he spent his time with us explaining what was needed and put us in touch with reputable companies (which agreed with "Angie's List.")

First, I called him on the Friday before Christmas, and he was able to come out on Saturday to not only diagnose the problems, but also to correct them that day. This is in contrast to the extreme difficulty in getting roofers who replace entire roofs to even return their phone calls. I was considering replacing my 20-year-old roof at this time, but I believe that Glen has given the roof an extra few years of life. Hopefully I can get a top-notch roofer out to the house during that time frame to provide an estimate and then replace the entire roof (shingles).
Description of Work: There were a number of relatively small repairs made to the roof, including replacing a cheap plastic roof vent which was leaking slowly with a new metal vent, added flashing between roof bottom and gutter (which was primary reason for me calling Glen to come out, as it was staining the ceiling inside of this spot), and replaced several shingles that had been blown off or otherwise damaged. Glen spent about one hour to figure out what needed to be done, and spent about five hours making the repairs (including time to purchase some materials).

+ 0 moreGlen was a very nice person. He returned phone calls promptly and showed up for the estimate and to work when promised. When inspecting the roof he also cleaned out any blockage that was in the gutters without me asking him. He explained what needed to be done and asked for our input on matching the shingles. After removing the shingles he found rotten decking and had me come up to look at the problem and explained what needed to be done. His price was very reasonable and even the additional repairs were done at a very reasonable cost. I was very happy and would gladly recommend Glen Gainey Roofing.
Description of Work: We had a leak coming into our garage and could not figure out where it came from. Mr. Gainey took a hose onto the roof and found the source of the leak. He also inspected the whole roof without being asked. He removed several rows of shingles and found rotten decking. The decking was repaired. Flashing was installed to stop the source of the leak. He matched and replaced the shingles. He repaired some loose shingles around the chimney and caulked it. He found a spot where a previous repair had been done and removed the patch and fixed the area correctly and with matching shingles. Caulked around the vent pipe for the water heater.

Ten minutes later, he called and said he checked the radar, and we were expecting a rain, so he would come out in his wife's car to make the repair the same evening. He got the job done before dark, charged a reasonable price, and went out of his way to make the customer happy. I would recommend him for repairs anytime!
