I signed a contract for Greg to paint the entire home, ceilings and walls. Also included removing wallpaper and fixing nail pops. Greg said he and one other man would be there on Monday to start business and said all the ceilings in the house would be painted by the time he was done working on Monday. Before Greg showed up I removed everything from the walls and moved furniture away from walls so he could start right away and have no problems. Greg showed up on Monday March 31, 2014 at 9 a.m. by himself with no ladders or scaffolding for the high ceilings. I asked him where his helper was and he told me he never mentioned a helper and it would only be him. He didn't do much that day and acted weird that I was still around the home while he was there working. I caught him in many different lies and I just didn't feel comfortable at times. He left in a hurry around 2 p.m. to cash the check that I gave him for $2565.00, which was for half of the job. He stated before the job began he wanted all light fixtures taken off the ceiling, so I paid someone to do that. Then once he started the job he stated that he wanted the fixtures hung up. He just seemed like he could not make up his mind on many things. On Tuesday he arrived at 9 a.m. and spent most of the day in one bedroom upstairs painting the ceiling and part of one wall. He didn't seem to get much done and was on the phone the entire day trying to find someone to help him off of craigslist. I feel like he underbid the job and was concerned about making money and just didn't want to perform the job anymore. He bidded in the contract that he would take off all the wallpaper also and was having a lot of trouble with it that day. On Wednesday April 2, 2014 he showed up around 9 a.m. and spoke very badly to me and said he would no longer be performing the job. I asked for my money refunded and he said he deserved that money for the 12 hours of work that he had performed. My house is a complete mess now and all I want is my money returned so I can hire someone else and get this job done. I also called Authentic Restoration and B&G restoration to complain to them about Greg and all the had to say was "That doesn't seem like Greg" they were the ones that recommended him to me and now they are unwilling to help me.
Description of Work: Was hired to paint interior of entire house. I was recommend Greg Guzman through Authentic Restoration and B&G restoration. They both use them for all of their painting projects.
