We are so pleased with our new basement and the work of Tom and his crew.....we will hire them again!
We remained in the home during the remodel, and Tom's employees and sub contractors were always very courteous and sensitive to the fact that we lived within the worksite every day. Very clean and conscientious on a daily basis. Tom was very involved and easy to communicate with. Very pleased with the quality of work and unique design ideas he presented. He worked closely with our architect, Lee Constantine. When unexpected things occurred, Tom presented reasonable options and did not quibble over nickel-and-dime matters. Definitley conscious about our budget and end cost was extremely close to his original estimate.
Tom's employees were very knowledgeable and talented. We definitely got to know his employees, esp. Doyle and Michael. We could trust they would make sure the work would be done right and they were easy to communicate with. Tom does use some subcontractors who he knows very well and respect him. The subcontractors who worked with him were just as professional and easy to work with and we would give each an A+ rating too. As a family living in a construction site, we felt very safe leaving our middle school boys home for short periods, knowing all the workers were conscientious and very aware of our needs as a family.
We are very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Tom Pearson.
A whole home remodel that affected most of the interior living space of our residence, which included a
downstairs bump out of kitchen and upstairs master bath. Demolition, foundation, framing, electrical,
HVAC, plumbing, exterior trim, interior finishes, windows, flooring were areas
impacted by the architectural design of Constantine Design Group. The remodel
took 5 months and was dirty and stressful at times but without hesitation we
would do it all over again rather than do it piece by piece over an extended
period. This was our first experience with remodeling and not realizing the
important criteria of personality as a trait for a contractor. Tom Pearson was
compatible with us as homeowners and so professional, maintained frequent,
excellent communication during the whole project, and even kept us in our home.
Tom, a Journeyman Carpenter, used his crew and subcontractors who performed the
necessary work for project completion. We cannot compliment enough the quality network of subcontractors Tom
uses for project progress, impeccable workmanship, and attention to detail and
integrity of the home. Tom Pearson?s team works with great precision and professionalism and unbounded desire to
please the client. It is most insightful about someone?s character when people
who surround him are loyal, respectful, and reliable. This is Tom Pearson?s team! We are
not complete with updating and transitioning our 1980?s traditional home and
Tom is the only contractor we will consult and schedule with in the future. In addition, we would like to acknowledge
Constantine Design Group, Beverly Markhoff Interiors, and Wood Shapes Unlimited
for their contributions to our home remodel and Jeremy, Carpenter Foreman, and
Michael, Lead Carpenter, of the Tom Pearson team.
Details of the porch: Each post is wrapped in cedar. We were planning to paint all of the posts originally, but elected to stain the inside once we saw the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship. The ceiling was also very difficult with the vaulting and beadboard, but it was constructed to perfection. The floor is deckboard, for we like the look of that and the extra ventilation it provides. Tom had a great idea of screening under the floor boards to protect from bugs. Therefore, the space is completely protected.
We are looking forward to working with the team again soon on our next project.
"We enjoyed this project enhancing the family living space."
"This was an interesting project involving a whole-home remodel of the main living area including a new contemporary kitchen, new basement finish with added window wells for natural light, and complete remodel of family living space. We raised the entire ceiling of first floor to create ceiling height of 10 feet. The finished product is spacious and inviting."
I had a fairly tight timeline for the work to be completed and Tom's company were able rise to the challenge. The team were able to work around my schedule everyday - and adjusting when my plans changed.
From the start to finish Tom and his team were easy to work with, my questions were always answered in a timely fashion and when things went wrong (as they always do on such a large project) the fixes were handled quickly and without fuss or drama.
Tom worked with me to incorporate things that I purchased independently and was flexible in small modifications to project along the way.
I also liked that the sub-contractors were local - made things like color and style selections very straight forward - as I got to see in person vs. picking from a sample chart or website.
Most importantly the whole team treated me and my home (& pets!) with the greatest respect and I felt comfortable with them having access to my home even when I was not able to be there.
We called four different contractors and of the three Tom was the only one that was able to provide a quote that was complete. He spent a lot of time listening to our needs and did an excellent job assisting us in making cost conscious decisions. He and his crew were very respectful of listening to our concerns and acting upon them.
We would recommend Tom to anyone that needs a good quality builder that cares.
