The entire process from designing to installing went so smoothly because of Tom's expertise. He saw my vision and made it happen. The workmanship and quality of the cabinets are amazing. I would highly recommend Carter Cabinet Co., for their product, quality of work and integrity.

During the 2nd half of 2018 we had a major remodel done on our 27 year old home that included a complete overhaul of our kitchen, dining room, master bath, hall bath, ½ bath, and a laundry room. In most of these areas we had our original red oak cabinets that, while still solid and functional, had long ago lost their appeal. So, we decided to replace them all during our project with Spivey Remodeling. The folks at Spivey recommended we speak to Tom Carter of Carter Cabinets who had done quite a bit of work with them over the years. Coincidentally, we lived less than five miles from Tom’s showroom, so visiting was always convenient. And Tom made it easy, since he was always available on weekend or early evening to drop by his showroom. He was very patient with us while we mulled over one of the biggest decisions we had to make in a couple decades, that is, the color and style of the cabinets. This is a huge investment and was singularly the largest cost item in our project, so we wanted to be sure before committing. Using the selection options Tom had at his showroom, we decided on off-white modified Shaker-style cabinets for our kitchen, laundry and ½ bath. We selected a dark stained maple with a somewhat more upscale 5-pc mitered drawer and cabinet fronts for the master and hall baths. All of Tom’s cabinets are custom-made by Amish craftsmen in southern Indiana. There were many options available for things like roll-outs, knife drawers, spice drawers, etc., and built-in roll-out dual trash bins, which we love. They have a very nice crown-mould around the top where the cabinets meet the ceiling and another trim piece at the bottom edge of the cabinet uppers that really add a high-quality feel to them. The joints on all of the cabinets, doors and drawers are tight, the finish is very smooth, and they look terrific in all of our spaces. We’re very happy with the cabinets in all of our spaces and they’ve completely changed the look of our rooms. These are very high quality cabinets that would work well in any home. We recommend Carter Cabinets and are very pleased to have their products in our home.

Tom was very helpful in our selection of cabinets. Each cabinet was made specifically to fit in the space we needed to optimize our storage and look fantastic. I would highly recommend using Carter Cabinets for any cabinet needs.

We completely remodeled our kitchen in Sept thru Nov of 2018. Our remodeling company started the process with the design and layout. They sent the design and rough measurements to Tom's cabinet company and then we went to meet with him at his site. Tom is warm, friendly, and very easy to work with. He had the design ready for us and showed us all the types of cabinets and different options that were available. It was very helpful to see actual different styles and set ups. He made some great suggestions as we tweaked the design. The cabinets are sturdy and very well made. They arrived in about 6 weeks. The installers were prompt, hard working and so easy to be around. They did a great job. We had one glitch when a pantry cabinet din't quite fit in the space it was to go into. Tom came himself to our home that evening to problem solve different options. In the end they remade the cabinet and it came within about 10 days. We appreciated the upfront honesty about the mistake and the way it was resolved. The cabinets look great! We would definitely use them again

We had a new addition, including the kitchen, added to our 1930's Meridian-Kessler home. He also designed a bathroom vanity for us. Tom Carter was highly recommended by our contractor. There were several details that required custom work. He knows what he is doing and throughout the process he made recommendations and gave us ideas that we hadn't thought of. His Amish cabinetmakers do great work; the quality is outstanding. We could not be more pleased!

Carter Cabinets was amazing to work with. Our cabinets are gorgeous and solidly built. We actually had the work done 2 years ago and the cabinets look just as good now as they did when they were first installed. I am very picky and had spent 3 years looking at different kitchen designs/options and met with several different cabinet companies. Tom and Amy took all of our ideas and turned them into our dream kitchen. The hood over our range was based on combining a couple of different pictures that I showed them. It turned out amazing! They both were extremely patient with us throughout the entire process and gave us a lot of great ideas. We wouldn't change a thing in our kitchen and would definitely use Carter Cabinets again in the future.

Tom and his crew did an excellent job at building our custom bathroom vanity. I had sent Tom a photo, and Tom built the cabinet with the exact style and dimensions that we were looking for. The quality of the vanity is outstanding. We had hired Tom in the past for our kitchen remodel, and were very impressed again with the communication, service, and workmanship received. We would recommend Carter Cabinets to all of our family and friends.

Excellent. Everything came out perfect. The entire process from the design phase through the installation was painless. This is the second project that we have done with Tom Carter. If we need more cabinets in the future we will only purchase them from Tom.

It went very well....still putting on the finishing touches. It is beautiful! Tom and the Amish crew were amazing to work with...and very professional. I will definitely use them for projects in the future. Tom has great ideas and is very helpful in the design and what can be done. He always answers my calls and texts, which is very important since we are not living in the area yet. When the project is done....I will post pictures for sure!

We were referred to Carter from a neighbor.  Tom was excellent to work with.  He met with us several times to design our custom kitchen even before we had signed the contract.  He did a wonderful job at helping us maximize the kitchen space, and he was flexible in the design to allow us to make minor changes as we finalized the plans.  It was very apparent that his goal was for us to obtain our dream kitchen.  We would recommend Carter for your kitchen remodel. We are very happy with the quality of the workmanship and the overall price.

We did a complete custom kitchen and bathroom remodel this summer. Our contractor has used Carter Cabinets for about 10 years now, so we went out to Tom and Amy Carters's shop in New Palestine to interview them.  They are very knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with.
They have a group of Amish carpenters in southern Indiana that make beautiful cabinets.
We are extremely pleased with the beautiful custom cabinets they put in our kitchen and bathroom.
The custom maple buffet is stunning. It fits our 1920's home perfectly.
These are high quality custom cabinets at a fair price. We are very pleased.

Amy and Tom are great to work with - both are knowledgeable and really helped us with a fairly substantial remodel project. We really love the way things turned out. Both had quite a bit of input on the design and installation and helped guide us thru some unchartered territory all the while being responsive and professional.
We only had one issue in that we had to re-schedule the installation due to their manufacturer's schedule. It was not a huge deal for us and they communicated it to us as soon as they found out.
The quality and construction of the cabinets are outstanding. We feel like we got our money's worth and would use them again without hesitation.

We visited several places before choosing Carter Cabinet Company. They were BY FAR the fastest and most responsive of anyone. Amy is really incredible with her ability to quickly put together designs and her responsiveness is excellent. They work with a group of Amish carpenters and the quality is very nice. I brought in a sample door that had the color I wanted and they did a nice job of matching it. We had a new vanity, linen cabinet, and corner cabinet built and installed. The drawers are dovetailed and have a undermount soft close. The linen cabinet was 96 inches tall with 3.75-inch crown moulding. I can't say enough good things about our experience with them. Their showroom is in New Palestine but it really isn't far.

To anyone thinking about doing custom cabinets, I highly recommend talking to Carter Cabinet Co.
 
We had talked with two other cabinet companies before we found Carter Cabinets.  The other cabinet companies did nice work and had good people, but there was no way we could get the cabinets that we wanted and stay close to our budget.
 
We first met with Amy Carter in December, 2013, and what a different experience it was.  With the other cabinet companies, we might discuss certain options, then go back in 1-2 weeks to look at a couple of new drawings and discuss the price changes.
 
When we met with Amy, she had already downloaded our house plans and using her software, was able to show us some ideas on a super-sized monitor above her work table.  As we discussed various options, Amy would make the changes and we could see the new layout in real time.
 
At our very first meeting, Amy and her dad Tom saw a number of small changes that our builder could make that allowed for two cabinets in places that I otherwise wouldn?t have had space for.  They also saved us over $1,000 by suggesting the framers build the base for the bar.
 
My Amish-built cabinets are beautiful, and I was able to do custom cabinets in every area of our new home (7 areas in all).  My kitchen has 100% rollout shelves and drawers, and even includes a tall pantry with pullout shelves and a pullout mixer stand for my heavy Kitchen Aid mixer.
 
This was our builder?s first experience with Carter Cabinets.  He was impressed with the quality of the cabinets and how Amy and Tom stayed in close contact throughout the process of designing, building, and installing our custom cabinets.

We worked with Tom of Carter Cabinets through the design of our kitchen and master bath cabinetry and couldn't be happier.  Tom was able to create initial designs and cost estimates based on drawings of the kitchen and bath since we did not yet have possession of the house.  He worked with us to find solutions to help control cost while providing quality cabinets with the look we wanted.  He patiently answered each of our questions and arranged for us to see an installation in progress, which helped confirm our decision to use Carter Cabinets.  He came out to our house several times to make further measurements and refine the drawing.  Tom was able to provide suggestions for the best use of space in both the kitchen and master bath.  The original plan had a tight fit for the dishwasher, and Tom came out several times and worked through detailed measurements to help inform a decision, we ultimately changed the design near the last minute, but the change was handled easily by Tom.  He worked with us on the installation date as our remodel schedule shifted, and also helped to save delivery cost on the bathroom cabinetry by delivering with another job in the area.  The installation went very well, everything was on time and went very smoothly, allowing for granite measurement the same afternoon.  The cabinets are beautiful and exactly what we were looking for.  After researching stock and semi-custom cabinets we were thrilled to find Carter Cabinets, and we are able to enjoy our custom cabinets while keeping on budget.

We were THRILLED with Carter Cabinet Company. Every day I see my kitchen and am in love with the cabinets in particular. They are beautiful, well made and the installation was absolutely perfect. They even made a gorgeous custom drawer to hold my spice jars. Everyone who sees my kitchen is stunned by how awesome the drawer and all the cabinets are. They make this trade look easy even though it requires a very focused attention to detail. 
In terms of pricing, Carter was the absolute best value. In fact we had quotes from non-custom cabinet vendors that were significantly higher. 
A crew of Amish carpenters installed the cabinets and it was amazing to observe their excellent skills at work in my home.
Amy Carter was an absolute pleasure to work with and sent us probably 8 different configurations in drawing form before we finalized. She was incredibly responsive and she knows what she is doing in terms of design. 
When Tom and Amy Carter came to measure for cabinets they were so professional. We just cannot say enough nice things about working with this company.

We went to their shop with a plan from Lowe's and Amy was able to make a cabinet design that was better, more functional and much better looking while we waited.  Amy is very fast using the cabinet computer program.  The cabinets we selected were solid cherry and plywood, no partical board.  There were able to fit the cabinets into the space we had perfectly without using filler panels.  We even needed to make the uppers about 3/4" shallower to fit under the overhead can lights.  Every thing we ask for they responded with "no problem we can do that".  The installers came with a crew and installed the cabinets in one day.  This was perfect because the granite company "Just for Granite" came the next day to do the final measurment and 10 days later we were all done. Best of all the price was about the same as Lowe's and the quality was better.   It is helpful if you know about what you want in a kitchen and have looked at the big box stores.  Its hard to imagine that custom cabinets could be the same price as factory box cabinets but they don't have the overhead at Carter.  I would use them again.

Tom is a great guy and trustworthy.  Cabinet installation went seamlessly.  There were a couple of glitches related to the pulls for the cabinets, but Tom worked through those with me.  The finished product has exceeded my expectations.

Amy and Tom Carter treated our project with the upmost in professionalism, follow through and design guidance.    Every step from the drawings, cabinet fabrication to installation was handled extremely well.      The cabinets themselves are beautifully crafted and finished to match other woodwork in our 1920 era home.      Amy and Tom follow through and follow up without fail, providing excellent service.    We would not hesitate to fully recommend Carter Cabinet to anyone.

Tom Carter represents Amish cabinetmakers. Tom was very easy to work with.  No high-pressure sales tactics.  He came to our home to give us an estimate.  We went to his place to finalize material selections, finish, etc.  We selected the deliver/install date months in advance.  He came to our home multiple times to make sure everything was measured correctly and was what we wanted.  The project was completed on time, within budget.  We were sent a sample cabinet front to help us select our flooring and countertops.  The woodworking is absolutely outstanding.  Mitered joints made during installation were the tightest I have ever seen.  The finish is exaclty what we wanted.  I would highly recommend Carter Cabinets.

I showed him pictures I had collected out of magazines of different cabinets/lockers in mudrooms/vanities and kitchens and theywere able to build exactly what I wanted, color and all.   When I didn't know what I wanted in terms of knobs and pulls, he gave me a "short list" of what he suggested which helped alot.  Once everything was done and installed, he has returned to "tweek" anything that I have found that needed adjusting after using it and living with it.  the follow up has been superb.  
I would definitely use Carter Cabinets again no matter how big or how small the project is.
