Weathertight Exteriors

We had just recently purchased our home in New Haven, IN and it needed some updating and working with contractors can be a challenge in our experience. Most times we would rather do it ourselves then deal with the missed commitments and sometimes shoddy workmanship. However, in this case we were getting some new windows installed and wanted to change the look of the house a bit in the process and liked the trend in new homes where vinyl cedar shakes siding were used in gable areas to lend contrast to the home. This was beyond our handyman skills and so we started the process to find a contractor to help us out.
So we contacted three siding contractors, as is recommended, including Jerry of Weathertight Exteriors in New Haven to get an estimate and some ideas and recommendations. As is our experience way to often one contractor never got back with us, another showed up and was going to send an estimate and we never heard from them again and then there was Jerry of Weathertight Exteriors. He showed up and spent quite a bit of time with us going over options, explaining how the work would be done and suggested brands and suppliers of the materials we could consider. He also shared a few recently completed projects near by that used the vinyl cedar shake siding we were interested in that really helped us in our decision on materials and color.
Since we had to coordinate the siding work with some new windows being installed, Jerry was very flexible to work with and would return our phone calls in a timely manner, imagine that. The windows were going in around Thanksgiving and we needed Jerry and his team to follow up after the windows were installed. We had specific days and times we need him on site and that was no problem. Everything went very smoothly and professionally and we were so confident in their work we never felt we had to babysit the project and watch to make sure no corners were being cut. What a relief!
We have had quite a few compliments on the finished product from our neighbors and folks just passing by while the work was being performed. We couldn't be happier and really appreciated the work Jerry and his team performed and would highly recommend Weathertight Exteriors.
