We don't believe in buying new (devalue too quickly), and have relied on Pete to help us choose and maintain our older models.
When we were looking at buying  used cars we have taken multiple cars that we were considering to Pete to have evaluated.  This has been incredibly informative and has saved us from many expensive mistakes!  For example, with one of the vehicles for my son:  An OLD Ford truck.  He approved the purchase for the price- said it was reasonable, and would be a safe, smart vehicle for a beginning driver.  Also gave my son a written list of that needed to be repaired and on what timetable (over a year's time) he should have them repaired. We followed that list explicitly and ended up with a great vehicle for a great price, including the repairs!
For my parents (who because of their age, I help a lot) Pete at Glad has winterized and done basic maintenance on their vehicle since they moved back from Florida 8 years ago.  He contacts them personally when they need to think about winterizing (memory of 80+ year olds, ya know!) and follows up with them to make sure every thing is OK after the service is completed.  He suggests repairs they might consider doing, and has been so considerate and patient with dealing with them. I trust him completely with anything he tells them - he's never steered them wrong, and cares for them on a personal level.
When I've had problems with my vehicle - couldn't get the battery out, couldn't get it started, and at that time didn't have road-side service for it - he drove to my house to take a look!  He didn't have the correct tools along, drove back to his shop to get them, and came back and fixed the problem!  
We have had multiple vehicles (over the years) which have been serviced. by Pete.  He will tell you if it's smart to service, or when it's time to give it up and look for a newer car.
Pete is a very trustworthy individual, who tries very hard to live by Christian ethics and principles.  I would and have recommended him often! His prices have always been quite reasonable (compared with other shops called), and his service is fantastic.
