Carpet Discount Of Ft Wayne/Abbey Carpet & Floor

The store uses subcontractors for carpet and wood installation. They did a fine job on the wood floor but were very poor when it came to installing the wool carpet. I found out after the fact that the installers had never installed wool carpet before. Because they were subcontractors they had agreed on a price for the job with the store. The wool carpet installation took much longer than subcontractor had expected and they became very frustrated and did a very poor job. They miss cut several seams and just pieced in a 2" square piece of wool carpet. This 2" square is at the seam in the doorway to my son?s bedroom and I see it every time I enter his room. When cutting the stairs they miss cut the riser edges and then just stuck a small piece of filler in. I was surprised when I vacuumed the steps the first time and all of the little filler pieces got sucked into the vacuum. The store owner visited the house twice and refused to make good on the repairs that were needed. The only real fix would have been to replace several room of wool carpet. He was not willing to do that and blamed his subcontractor who had no ability to pay for the replacement of the carpet. This was a hack job on a beautiful wool carpet. We are very disappointed in the store and the subcontractor. I would not recommend doing business with this company. The Company is no longer Carpet Discount but is now the Abbey Flooring store on DuPont at I-69. The owner is Mike Pape.
