Eye Care - Ophthalmology
I have used this practice since 2015. Dr. Kristina Offerle is just about the most thorough Optometrist I have every used, and the first prescription she wrote for me is the best I have ever worn - sharp, depth perception. She herself admits that she is a perfectionist and is very patient-centered. But the optometrists are another story. The second prescription she wrote was for an "Office lens" specifically for close reading and computer work, and the opticians mis-ordered it. When the glasses arrived, they were exactly like my other pair (distance and astigmatism correction). WHen I explained this to the optician, she ARGUED with me that the glasses were fine, and I was the problem. It took multiple complaints to get someone to examine the "office lens" glasses and realize that they had been ordered with my regular prescription. They were finally remade, but they still have my distance prescription in them. I like the frames, so I did not complain, but this was an expensive mistake that the optician made, and I paid for it. Then, the practice offered a special deal and I ordered two more pairs of frames with my prescription to use my FLEX balance. The cost to me was a little over $1,300. I paid this money because if I did not use the money, I would lose it (that is how FLEX works). The glasses took THREE MONTHS to arrive. I received multiple calls from the office explaining the delay, but never an apology. WHen they finally came, I picked them up only to discover that I could not see while wearing them! I explained this to the optician, a different person, who ARGUED with me that I just needed to get used to the prescription. I left after a completely fruitless argument with the optician who swore up and down that the glasses were fine, but he NEVER examined the fit of the glasses, nor provided me with care or cleaning instructions, nor checked my vision! One of the pairs of glasses was so bad, it looked like I was looking through the bottom of a coke bottle. The other pair was a little better, but I slipped them on while driving home and realized I could not read road signs nor see the lines in the road. I called the practice and spoke to the office manager, RYAN. He made no promises and would not even pass my information along to the doctor who prescribed the glasses, nor guarantee that the practice would do anything at all to make the situation right or compensate me for the $1,300 I had spent (preferably with working glasses that I could actually wear). This is completely unacceptable, and I plan to take my complaints outside of this practice, since my complaints to the practice itself seem to be going nowhere. As it stands now, I'm out $1300 and I can't see out of the glasses I bought.
