These guys were great. Trevor came out on a Monday to look everything over, emailed me the contract to sign that night. Tuesday morning Trevor, Chris and Danny were at my door ready to work. They did the work, no wasting time, no stopping for phone calls or taking smoke breaks. I was very impressed with the results and will use the company again.

Brad was fantastic. The dock looks great. Trevor was attentive to us and communicated often. I’ve recommended Papa’s to a family member and a co worker already. Trevor will be the first person I call in the future.

Papas construction did an amazing job on our fence. We needed one so badly due to our neighbors, and papas came and started right away, and had it done within a week. I will be calling them to come build my front porch as well.

So on February 3rd I hired Papa's to remodel my entire bathroom. By Noon the very next day I get a text explaining I should contact my insurance company. A water line burst and my downstairs was ruined. When I got home I was at a loss for words. Water was pouring from everywhere! It was like walking into a storm. Accidents do happen and that's what insurance was for. But the guy doing the dry out showed me where they cut or snapped the water line. My insurance and his insurance adjuster later agreed that the line was either cut or broken by Papa's during the tub removal. It was a CPVC line, my house is only 13 years old. So someone didn't realize they broke the line, cut the water on and left. my house was unlivable so i have to stay in a hotel until my home is fixed. Ok cool, I've been through worse. The next day the owner, Trevor, who I hired and been in contact with through it all, texted me to see how's my home. What a good guy I thought. By the next day he texted me to see if they could resume work. So that's why he was so "concerned" Now mind you my upstairs and downstairs got wet. It took 5 days to dry my house out. Furniture ruined, carpet ruined, furnace destroyed, ceiling torn down, etc. So I found it odd, but told him we had to wait until the house got dried out. By sunday, 5 days after the incident I get a text from Trevor saying "I don't know what's taking so long but we got a contract and I have to fulfill it." You don't understand what'staking so long? Now I'm hot! He goes on to say I need to give him a full payment. Despite only half the work being done. But it had been almost a week I reasoned. didnt strike my mind with everything going on. So I paid him for the work he had done so far. He sees all the work that needs done in my home and wants me to hire him to fix it all... The next day I get the ok to fix my home from the insurance companies. So i notify Trevor he can resume Tuesday, the 11th. Each day I left Trevor a check or paid him for whatever he had to buy. By Thursday they were "done" and all that was left was touching up the paint. I come home Saturday and see the "finished product" First thing, I shock my hand cause my light switch doesnt have a cover. Neither does the outlet. How simple is that? Then I notice the spots on the wall were the paint is thin and I can see the previous paint underneath. Then I see draw lines. Then I see paint peeling from around the vanity. There's paint on the door frame. I look at the tub and notice there's spots with no caulk. The surround isn't caulked along the back wall. Turn the water on, it doesnt turn past halfway, so no hot water. Now I'm ******, go to use the toilet and it takes 3 minutes to refill. Next I notice there's hardly any water in the bowl. So I spend a few hours fiddling with the toilet. At this point I'm mad and wonder does anything here work? Putting stuff away I find a puddle of water under the sink all because a hose wasnt tied on tight. I'm furious but I remain calm. I give up trying to fix it and contact Trevor. He tells me he will look at it, this is on a Saturday. I didnt hear from Trevor again until monday night. Monday he said someone will be there Tuesday. Tuesday he said Wednesday. Then Wednesday no one came by. He never contacted me to tell me why. Once I contacted him he said one of his employees had a doctor appointment. So I guess only 1 guy can fix everything. Funny the guy texting me everyday in a rush to work, suddenly wasnt in a hurry anymore after he got paid. It's been days since I heard from Trevor and that's fine. I'd rather move on. The whole experience was a nightmare and continues to be. I'll be in a hotel until at least March 6th. More than a month after the "accident" that's how much damage was done to my home. Dont make the same mistake I did.
Response from Papa's Painting & Construction
"First I want to start by saying the plumbing on the house is cpvc which is pretty much a accident waiting to happen. We started out as planned all was well. We go to install insert well the tub was damaged so we had to go to home depot and exchange it without a receipt. He asked me to do so. I agreed to do that. When we return a water line had ruptured while we was not there. It was beyond my control. However it unfortunately was in the vicinity were we were working so I immediately took matters in my hands and contacted my insurance company andcerv pro for dryout process and etc. this was a unavoidable situation which truthfully was not my fault. Turns out insurance companies even agreed that was true and his insurance picked up the case. He proceeded with me coming back in to finish the work we had contracted. He supplied all materials. So all went well we had one more day left to come out and do some caulking and touch ups on painting. 1 day had passed we’re we was not there and he told me to not bother coming back. 1 day I remind you. Homeowner was inpatient. I never leave a job unfinished. My reviews tells the truth. I figured he would want to purchase his own plate cover considering everything he bought. Well that’s what I get for figuring. Papas does great work and we care about are customers. It appears to me in the picture the paint was intentionally wiped off or smeared. Not intirely sure the water line that ruptured was intentional either. Either [Member Information Removed] when you do a bathroom remodel it will take at least a weak to finish a job and there will be touch ups and things do come up in this field to were we may not be able to make it out. And in this case something came up that day and my plumber was not able. I did collect checks but only when they was due! That is part of my job also. I apologized if I have burdened you in any [Member Information Removed] at all."

His Framer did a great job and quality work. Dealing with the owner was like dealing with a used car salesman. Lots of talk, lots of promises but only around when it’s time to get paid. His roofer took 3 days to finish 30 bundles of shingles. Meantime it rained and leaked into my kitchen. Owner NEVER came over to look at the damage. Just sent roofer over with the cheapest paint to “fix” it....as cheap as possible. Never came by to look at damage. His boys also dented my grill while working on the roof and nobody knew anything, but my wife heard them. As the project moved forward, their attendance got worse. They got the bigger draws (money) from me and started moving on to other checks. In fairness, he only has one guy working for him and a sub or two. One sub had left one day with less than an hour of work to get done to finish the project, didn’t see him for two weeks. Just finished the project yesterday that was started October 14th and it’s now December 5th. There were times the Contractor was at the job so infrequently, he didn’t even know where we were on the project and at times expected me to purchase lights that were installed weeks earlier and apart of the original contract. I worked in construction while going through school. I wouldn’t hire this guy to hang a picture in my house. He moved on from us to other checks and could’ve finished this project a month ago. But he kept pulling his guy to other jobs. Then he’d come by on a Saturday and install the handrails, then wouldn’t hear or see them again until the following weekend for an hour or so and put the spindles on, then gone again. If you don’t stay on them, I don’t think he would’ve cleaned up the site. Quality of wood construction was pretty good. Metal work was average at best. Dealing with the Owner....not worth it. Just hire his Main guy.
Response from Papa's Painting & Construction
"Wow! Very surprised by this review considering every time I spoke with you you appeared to be satisfied. I am a onsite / office man. There is no possible way I can always be on the job especially when I do 20 appointments a week. As far as my metal guy goes I don’t blame you for being upset because I was also. He apparently had personal situations going on that amounted up to two weeks. I always clean up My worksite that’s why it got Cleaned up. If it was up to my main guy it would not get cleaned . I asked for him to clean because I care. Had to he siding guy not go missing for two weeks you would have gave a 5 star rate without a doubt. I also never expected you to purchase lights never even asked you To buy lights. I asked if you did because you bought your ceiling fan and the lights for your fan and thought that you would want the same lights for everything else. I actually was being mindful and caring for the project which somehow is mislabeled. I am a very expierenced master remodel construction worker! This is why you got a amazing job done at your house. I am so deeply sorry you are not happy with me!"

This crew and company were punctual and finished the job in a very timely manner. Daily clean up was excellent and Trevor, the owner, was quick to respond to texts when I had questions or concerns. I am happy with the job they did (rebuild front porch, including resurfacing the deck portion, as well as replacing, or repairing and repainting termite damaged portions of house trim. I would, and already have recommended them to friends and family for their future projects.
