I am very happy with the work that Brian provided for us. Good craftsmanship, good price. He modified the doors and doorframe so that the doors would never need to be replaced. Carefully done. A+.
I contacted Brian after not hearing back from my original contractor after a week of waiting. He answered the phone while on anothr job and told me he'd be in my area within an hour. He arrived within the hour, ready to quote the job. We reviewed the fence and talked through what he suggested. He was courteous and professional. He surveyed the damged and took photos. He told me he'd swing by The Home Depot to get material pricing and I'd have a quote by the evening. He asked my preference of communication and sure enough, at 4:45 pm I received his estimate. I asked a couple of questions, which he answered promptly, we settled on a price and service day.
He contacted my the day before the scheduled day to confirm and said he'd be out to start in the morning. He was there on time to work, ready to work. He finished up the following day and the fence looks like new. Job well done!
He believes in providing real value for a fair price. He is very likable and has excellent ideas and suggestions.
Highly recommended.
"I have been out to the customers house for additional follow-up. Prior to going even the first time I informed the customer that I was booked into September, and was told that was not a problem. I can not hold up a customers job that I am currently working on in favor of another, that would not be fair to them. Brian Condra"
I can say confidently that you're making a great choice if you have him do a project for you. His rates are very reasonable and the quality of his work is outstanding.
He did extra clean-up and took time to explain everything very well. Very honest and dependable.
I could not ask for a better job. Cleaned up every day, completed job on time, all work looks great. The custom slider doors were a real project to suspend from ceiling with no floor tracks. Big 100% solid wood doors 9 feet tall. Pictures to follow.
Brian is top notch and I will use him again and recommend him to all.
In October 2013 I called him from Angie's List and he said he was a few months booked up. I am really glad I called him back in January. He sat a start date 3 weeks out, showed up and got it done at bid price with a detailed materials receipt that actually returned some of my deposit.
I live out of town (and inherited this house), and Brian was very good about communicating with me every step of the way. He subcontracted several tasks for me to highly qualified professionals (drywall repair, roof repair, and plumbing) at competetive, reasonable prices, and he handled all of the communication with those workers.
Brian went above and beyond the call of duty, and I am completely satisfied with his results. He made several suggestions on the work to be done that saved me time and money without sacrificing the quality of the finished product. The final dollar amount was consistent with the original estimate. A word of note: his estimate was not the lowest I received for this list of work, but I feel that the work he performed was absolutely worth the value, and his communication skills and availability set him apart from his competitors.
I would not hestitate to hire Brian again.
"[member name removed] This is a record of my contact with [member name removed] concerning repairing her bathroom door: 8/13/2013 Hello, I was interested in procuring your services in repairing my bathroom door. It has never closed since I lived here, but now it's even worse. It's an older house, so I'm not sure if it can be repaired or if the door and casement will need to be totally replaced. Please contact me via email: [member name removed] or text/phone: [member information removed] Thank you,[member name removed] Hoosier Daddy Woodwork 8/13/2013 Hello, I would be glad to take a look at your door and tell you what repairs I could do and the cost of those repairs. What area do you live in? I may be able to take care of this quickly working around some other jobs I am working on. Brian Condra (812) 989-9442 USMC Ret. [member name removed] 8/13/2013 Fantastic. I live in [member information removed] For further contact: Email is always a good way to get a hold of me but even more quickly is texting. I work two jobs, so I can't answer my phone. [member information removed] [member information removed] Thanks so much, [member name removed] [member name removed] 8/16/2013 Hello, I haven't heard anything from you since Tuesday. Are you still interested? [member name removed] Hoosier Daddy Woodwork yesterday I just took a look at the reviews. I also checked my texts to see if I had missed some. I have not gotten any texts from you. Could you check to see if you had my number on them. If it is not could you correct the review? I haven't had a break between jobs to take care of your door as of yet and my previous message projected the first opening to be mid next week 28-30 Aug. I am sorry you feel as though I stood you up but we hadn't scheduled a meeting. You had told me that you work 2 jobs and don't answer the phone, today (the 20th is also the first time I've checked my TWC email, I have still been getting Insight service. sorry for the confusion. (812)989-9442 is my number. Were the texts sent to that number? Brian This customer did not schedule a time for me to do work or even look at the door. I did not get any texts from this customer asking for either. I had told this customer that I could do this between jobs I was working on. There hadn't been a break between the current job or the next scheduled one for me to contact [member name removed]with a time to meet. I was expecting the time frame of 28 - 30 Aug as the next open time, and that time hadn't arrived. You can't be stood up is nothing had been scheduled. I know my customers time is important and I treat it as such. Six plus years of A's from my Angie's List customers is a more accurate picture of my work and attentiveness than a review of work or a meeting that had never been scheduled. Brian"
But here was the clincher. After all this, I called Brian about a month ago to see about having him do some other work that we were also supposed to have done last year, but that got held up do to delays(not his fault) and additional cost for the bathroom, and Brian informed me that I had failed to pay him for some material from the last job...not the job itself...just material, and because of this, he could do anymore work for me. I was shocked to say the least. When I ask Brian to please let me know what I still owed him; a) because I was unaware I stillowed him anything, and b) I pay my bills, he has totally ignored my request.
"This job was completed in the summer of 2012 and I think her review was in response to me not working for her on another job she called about in early August 2013. This customer was informed that the only way to fix the bow in the wall was to remove and replace bowed studs in the existing wall that was between her bedroom and the shower we were adding, she said not to remove any more wall. I had submitted a weekly bill with the receipts attached and was paid for each bill, until the final bill. The final bill had the receipts for the materials gotten during the final phase of the job. The bill reflected the labor and materials for the job as well as the money paid for each to that point . (member name removed) then said she was deducting the material listed with the exception on the final receipts because she couldn't find the previous receipts given her, (over $200.00 worth). The plumber had installed the shower control that she had picked out the wall was tiled, the glass door had been installed and the room painted and she then decided she wanted a different controller of a different brand (Mohen vs Delta). The plumber told her they were not interchangeable and to get to the controller and change them out he would have to cut in from her bedroom wall, she told him he was lying and told him to get out. All that remained at that point was attaching the control handle & shower head, the plumber asked if she wanted him to do that first & she said no to just get out. NOTE: The controllers of the two different brands are not interchangeable. The breaker installed was a twin breaker that split the bathrooms power from the box and the previous single breaker. The main box did not have any open spaces for a single breaker. When the bathroom was finished (member name removed) told me it was beautiful and she had her family over to show it off I also have worked for other family members and they were also delighted with the bathroom and the additional storage that was added with built in storage. During this period (member name removed) was undergoing medical treatments that changed her mood for the worst. Her sister kept urging me not to take anything personal that it was her treatments that had made her so mean and that even her mom, daughter, and nephews didn't want to go over there and take the abuse she was giving out. (member name removed) contacted me near the beginning of August about adding storage to her dinning room. I told her that after the last experience and being shorted the money for the material that I could no longer work for her. She said she didn't remember that happening but if it did, and even if I didn't do any more work for her she wanted to pay what she owed, I told her at that time that wasn't necessary and to have a good day."
