Duffy's process of evaluation to dog handling to one on one sessions were amazing. Our dog has made a complete 360 from what she was before. Now we can have family and friends over without barking, jumping or licking. We can walk her with no worries of running off or pulling. Also, we could drop a whole chicken on the kitchen floor and she wouldn't even move. I believe anyone who has a dog in need of training call Duffy's.

I have had my rescued mix breed for two years and worked hard trying to train her just using books and online resources on my own. While I'd had success in the house, I had not been successful with training her to walk loose lead. I also had problems with her barking and lunging at other dogs while on leash.
My husband and I recently bought a house in the Highlands neighborhood, and because there are many dogs and pedestrians there, I wanted to be sure I had my dog under control so she would still get the exercise she needs. We are also hoping to have a baby soon, and I knew I wouldn't be able to walk her with a stroller with her current lack of manners.
I called Duffy's because my vet recommended them as a possibility for a place that would board and train her while we were moving. I'd been so fed up and tired of working with her without much success I just wanted to board and and quot;fixand quot; her, no matter what it cost. I went in for my free consultation and Dave spoke with me for nearly an hour. He interviewed me about my dog's routine and got into Duffy's philosophy behind the training. From my research, everything he said made perfect sense. He showed me that I was using her collar incorrectly — I even had the chain on backwards. He demonstrated how easily he could settle her down with small, specific and well-timed leash corrections. Zoe went from very nervous and jittery to calmly lying by his side. It was amazing! He said I didn't need the full boarding, as she was already responsive and half-way there. He suggested a one hour training and then day boarding with training if I wanted somewhere to house her during our moving days.
I called and scheduled my training session for the following week. I worked with Tyler this time, and he was great! Both he and Dave were totally professional and explained everything very well.
Because I'd had success working with my dog in the house and her manners were good with guests and everything, I asked if we could focus the whole training on walking. Tyler showed me how to correct my dog in a very clear and direct way so that her full attention was directed on me as her leader. Just like mother dogs communicate to their litter and alpha dogs communicate to their pack, a quick pinch on the neck re-directed her attention on me. She immediately started walking calmly at my side — it was amazing! We practiced in lots of different settings, and Tyler brought two other dogs out to practice. Once I was doing the correction properly, she stopped pulling and she stopped responding to other dogs.
When I got home we practiced in our neighborhood and with a few corrections she was like a brand new dog! I couldn't be happier with this service! I highly recommend these guys.

I cannot say enough about how much I love the guys at Duffy's Dog Training Center. I knew they were going to help us from the first five minutes of our initial evaluation. I have a 75 pound Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pitbull mix. He was having aggression issues with strangers as well as other pets. He was very territorial. He was snapping at people walking past us in the park, and growling aggressively at everybody we invited in the house. I am only 130 pounds myself, so this dog was a bit much for me.
We signed up for the full course which included 10 free days of doggy daycare (up to 12 hours a day). While in daycare, our dog was treated wonderfully. Even though his training was intense and difficult (for both him and me), he and I both looked forward to going in every morning. He had no hesitations going right into his kennel at their facility and wagged his tail everytime they walked by. In two weeks they had completely transformed the dog.
He is now friendly to everyone, ignores distractions like other dogs and people, walks on a loose leash in the park, stops at every doorway, doesn't grab food that is dropped on the ground, and has great composure. Not to mention a long list of awesome tricks that he completes by viewing our hand signals (very helpful in public!)
We were mostly with Tyler and then Josh. They are both very skilled at handling any type of dog. If you find yourself worried about the price, just think of it as insurance against a lawsuit or a new couch.

Overall, I am Super Pleased with the results that we are seeing in our 6 month old goldendoodle. We have taken her for 3 days of Doggy Daycare and had one private dog training session. Ellie seems to love being dropped off and has really responded well to this type of training. All the trainers are fantastic to work with and I fully trust Mr. Duffy and his philosophy on training dogs. We plan to use Duffy's for all of Ellie's training and if we ever get another dog they will spend time there as well.
