I felt this was his responsibility since it wasn't properly checked and ran to make sure it was in working order, because of the temperature. He should have originally taken care of this. This seems to be a poor business practice to me, not following up on your work. This was a new piece of equipment that he was paid to put in. Original out of pocket was $628 for materials, so I went to the warranty company. I negotiated with them to split this with me. He charged me $320 for sheet metal work. He cut a hole in the duct above furnace, took the A frame coil out, slid my new one in, and patched it with a sheet metal patch. Doesn't seem right. Over charged for something to make his job easier. Shotty solution. Cost reflects warranty deductible and half of extra supplies.
