My son was mowing some tall weeds when he hit a tire that was partially buried. The mower stalled immediately and belched white smoke, then began to leak oil after he checked to see if the blade was damaged.
I called EZ Way Rental (aka the Mower Outlet) to see if they could take a look at it, and they said it sounded bad, and they had a 3 week backlog for mower service. I arrived 5 minutes before they closed, thinking that I would just drop it off. The guy at the counter listened to what happened, and decided to take a look - basically to help me decide if I just needed to buy a new mower. Within 20 minutes he had replaced the air filter and spark plug (which had been soaked with oil when my son tipped it over the wrong way), and the mower was running beautifully. I was so impressed at the employee's courtesy in staying late, not pressuring me to buy a new mower, and getting me back in business for $30. I won't go anywhere else for small engine service.
