Becky White

Becky White from Zook was the listing agent for a bank-owned house we were extremely interested in purchasing. We went to see the house several times with our buyer's agent, who called Becky every time and arranged for our showings, and communicated our strong interest in the property. During all this time, the listing agent never once mentioned that this house would be going up for auction soon. Not until we actually went to make an offer, and wanted to see about having a pre-offer inspection done, did she FINALLY tell us it was in "pre-auction status," meaning it was listed on an auction website accepting offers through a pre-bid process. We scrambled to find the house on the website, but it was not listed there (and we communicated this to Becky). She still told us to go ahead and have an inspection done, so we paid $400 for an excellent inspector to go over the property. AFTER that happened, when our buyer's agent went to try to put an offer in, there was a lot of confusion because the house wasn't on this website. Without giving us any other information about what was going on, Becky just forwarded us on to the auction website where we FINALLY got in touch with someone who told us what was going on. They told us that there was already an offer in on the property, and that was why it wasn't on the website. In other words, IT HAD ALREADY BEEN UNDER OFFER AND OFF THE WEBSITE when Becky told us to go ahead and get an inspection done! She did not perform her due diligence responsibility and let us know what the status was at that point. Aside from the $400, this was a very emotional, stressful process for us, since we have been looking for a house for months and had finally settled our feelings on this one. Her behavior was uncommunicative, irresponsible and unprofessional throughout the entire process.
