met them at the storage unit in less

The rep cut open the padlock and 
the whole process took less than
half an hour.

very well. Owner stated he would get me a price on a new lock for my boat but never called me back. Guess he forgot. Thats additional lost money in tough time for some.

I believe the locksmith arrived sometime around 1:30 in the afternoon. Once he saw the job he said he didn't have the part required (a dead bolt with hand lock mechanism as opposed to keyed mechanism). He left to get the right mechanism. It was also determined that a new door handle would be appropriate for one door. He returned and worked for a long time on all three doors, and again did not have the correct type of deadbolt for one of the doors and had to leave again. He could not get a door that had been working to rekey so a new knob and mechanism had to be purchased. He did not leave until about 6:45 at night. It would probably have been less expensive for me to purchase three new matching locks and deadbolts and have them installed by a carpenter, and it certainly could not have taken five hours. Since this work was required due to an illness in the family time was of the essence. I was seriously inconvenienced by this time-consuming and expensive procedure. I had agreed to what I thought was an expensive ($180) fix to prevent my having to spend excess time and this process was exactly the opposite of what I expected for my expensive outlay. I can understand that some odd part might not be on the truck, but I am still not sure how the locksmith could not see what materials were required once the doors were right in front of him. A second trip and not being able to make a door work again that had been working with the old locking mechanism seems quite unprofessional.
