They were very friendly, informative and punctual. They do approach cats with a very comforting tone and demeanor. I got some helpful tips for giving pills to our crazy cat. They gave me a tour of the facility and I was impressed with all of the services they can provide and feel very comfortable seeking emergency care there. I do think they are quite expensive though. They, of course, wanted to do a full bloodwork panel on my older cat and clean both cat's teeth but they didn't give me a hard sell when I told them and quot;no.and quot; FYI...$200 for and quot;older cat complete blood workand quot;, $545 for teeth cleaning for 1 cat with and quot;mild tartarand quot;, which includes an optional $135 full mouth X-ray. Like I said, expensive, but they do some things outside the minimum care. Instead of a 3-year vaccination known to increase a cat's rick of cancer, they give an annual shot, etc. I also noticed they took their time performing the physical exam. I can't tell you how many vets I've seen breeze through an exam. I'm a nurse and I know you can't hear the heart or lungs sufficiently by placing the stethoscope on a chest for 1 second. Vet probably spent a whole minute or two just listening to my cat's chest in multiple places. I appreciate any health practitioner, human or animal, that takes the time to actually listen and palpate thoroughly...otherwise why bother performing the exam in the first place?

At my first visit to Magrane, I was impressed with how quickly I got in with my dog, the one-on-one attention we received, the cleanliness of the examination room and lobby, and that they took my dog's conditions and my questions seriously. However, after a few months' experience with Magrane, I'm beginning to wonder about how great they really are. First, the prices are extremely high (given other comparable service in the area or even elsewhere!) - almost ridiculously so. Secondly, they performed unnecessary procedures and tests on my dog. When I questioned them about this (the first time they performed the test it was unnecessary and unwarranted given his history and current health - so a COMPLETE waste of money - and the second time they did this test, it was needed), they didn't seem to care and blamed the first test on me, despite having knowledge of my dog's health status at the time of the first test.

Dr Neuhoff and the techs at Magrane's are fantastic. We have 3 cats and have been thoroughly pleased with the care they have been provided. One of our cats is diabetic and one has IBS and arthritis. We are always listened to and given many treatment options.

I had a bad experience there because they withheld information. My puppy had a urinary tract infection and they were putting a needle into her bladder to get a sample, but she collapsed and had a seizure. They did tell me about this so I was surprised when I got home and she was having seizures. I took her back to the vet and they insisted that she was okay but they called me later to let me know what happened. The dog was very sick and they were going to go ahead and spay her even though she had an infection and they didn't know why. I don't think they would have confessed everything to me if I hadn't asked for the records before I took her to Purdue. They are very expensive and you don't always get what you pay for. I wouldn't trust my pet with them anymore.

The price is pretty high. Our puppy had a urine infection at it was $127 to get the prescription and stuff. Ten days later I took a urine sample in and it is another $44 to get it tested. Their services are very good. They are friendly, they are up-to-date, and they have a lot of equipment and services. They always work you in and they saw us first thing in the morning because my dog was sick. They give you a lot of information when you take your puppy in; they gave us handouts about training schools and stuff.
