Lowes - Mishawaka

I called the store, bow for a fifth time. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, I asked for a full refund. A staff member/manager said she had to pull up the file and would call me back to process a credit. She called back after 90 minutes and said the installer already picked up the door and she was unable to process the credit until he returned the door. I don't know why this is my problem, but she refused to issue the proper credit until the obviously unreliable installer returned the door. I asked what would happen if he didn't. She said he would. So I asked her to issue the credit. She refused. So I disputed all charges on my credit card. Completely unreliable, unprofessional, disappointing, and frustrating. I will not be inside Lowes again for anything.

It went very well. I had gotten several quotes before going to Lowe's. By then I knew what I wanted and I knew about how much it would cost. I love my Pella windows. The installer did a great job installing them. They look great.

We are needing a new roof for our cape cod style home due to age and storm damage. We happen to be in Lowe's looking at patio doors when I mentioned the need for a roof. The employee asked if they could quote the job. I didn't even know that they did that type of thing. He got a date and time scheduled for a salesperson to come out and quote the job.
The salesperson called about a half an hour before the time and said he was in the area and asked if he could stop in a few minutes early. We were fine with that so he showed up early.
He introduced himself, explained a little bit about Lowe's and how the process of them doing the roof would go. We went outside and he looked at the roof from the ground. He said that he had gotten a measurement by satellite earlier. We went back inside and he proceeded to do some calculations and explain what all was included in the quote. He then presented my wife and I with the quote and asked if we would like to have them do the job.
He wasn't a high pressure salesperson, but he did ask for the sale. He did mention that the longer we waited to schedule into the summer the longer the wait could end up being.
We decided to wait to take a look at some other options, but they will definetly be in the running.

They were great and I didn't have any problem with them. They were on time and very professional. The person who came was a very nice guy. He had Lowe's gear on and had his paperwork and business card, so I liked that.

I was always been pleased with their service. They were extremely helpful. Their pricing was very competitive. They keep track of everything for me and tell me what I purchased before and they seemed to be very informative when I go in there.

Granted we had winds of 60 mph a while back, but it shouldn't blow both doors locked together off! I never read anything such as rbbermaid claims about the shed being only to take35 mph winds. They need to redesign the door hinge system. I have since read where people put bricks etc. on the roofs to put pressure down on the hinges, which I think is unsafe.

Wonderful design services and the installer they contract with was very professional and detail-oriented.

I like Lowes a lot. If I were to be reincarnated and have another job, I would probably work for them. They were professional, answered all questions, and they were accommodating. The person that came out to do it was an exceptionally good. He completed the flooring in two days and did a great job. His price was fair as well.

Overall, the results for this job were mixed. Last year we had replacement windows installed, and the service was excellent. So we also sought a quote from Lowe's for a roof replacement this year. Rusty, the contractor, was very good. He got in touch with us and clearly explained the products and gave us a quote that was reasonable (not the lowest, and not the highest, but on the lower side).
One issue with Lowe's is that they hire a subcontractor to do the actual work. This is where things did not go so smoothly The contractor got a very slow start and then appeared somewhat intermittently. In the middle of the job, the roof started leaking at 11:00 PM on a Saturday night where it was not tarped properly. This caused some minor water damage to a bedroom ceiling and some stuff stored in a closet. Overall, the contractor appeared understaffed. The end result looks pretty good from the roofing perspective, although the gutter screens they replaced look uneven and one already blew out. I keep waiting to see how the one year warranty will work out. I also had to nag them to replace the water-logged insulation in the attic but they did a nice job in the end. In the end, everything did get done except for some material pallets that were left behind the garage. I don't know if my first experience (with the window replacement last year) was unusually good, and I don't know if the roofing experience was average or below (although the leaking in the middle of the job does not seem common for sure). I would definitely quiz Lowe's very carefully about their sub-contractor before I would have them do another job for us.

Lowe's was one of 2 bids. They were the less expensive and carried the windows that Consumer Reports rated number one. I liked the fact that everything was included in the bid. eg: we wanted the interior in white and exterior in dark brown. No extra charge. The other company wanted 20% more for this. All removal and clean up was included. The man from Lowe's was very nice and professional. The people who removed our old windows and installed the new ones were on time, professional and did a great job.

This was a great experience. The two gentlemen who did the installation were wonderful and they did a fantastic jop. I have no hesitation in recommending Lowe's for countertop purchase and install.

We had a small problem with the installation, which is why I gave a B for professionalism which applies only to the way they attached the strike plate. When I called to complain after the screw broke free from the framing, they were very cooperative, had a man out that week, who took a look and went out to buy longer matching brass screws and fixed the problem. And then they called two days later to make sure I was satisfied. Of course, who wants a problem in the first place, but I give them an A because of their quick and complete response.

It started out great but ended up bad. They sent the wrong supplies for the contractor to do the job. The man that came out to do the estimate was really nice but once things started being delivered it was all wrong. I felt sorry for the contractor. They sent the wrong size railing after he dug all of the posts. He had to redo half of the post holes. He and I had to reconfigure the whole deck one day so it would look right with what we had delivered. It looks gorgeous, but only because we had to redesign it so we could use the materials they delivered. They had to come out in the spring because a bottom part of the railing split in half and they had to replace it. I have an open account with them in case more railing split this winter.

The Lowe's people were extremely helpful, answering all questions and giving us options we had not known existed. They set up an outside contractor for an estimate and ultimately the job itself. Both the estimator and the 2 man crew that showed up were prompt and very professional. The crew not only answered questions about what they were doing (my curiosity) but cleaned up the area so well you'd never have known they they had been there to work. We are extremely please with the overall experience and would definitely use them again.

I have been happy with everything I have gotten here. I give them an "A" and I will go here again in the future.

I have been shopping at Lowe's for years. If they have what I want, they usually have someone there with knowledge with that product. I will continue to shop at Lowe's.
