During the inspection they found critter damage in the cabin air filter - torn up filter, sticks, leaves, all the rest. They showed me and asked if they should add filter replacement on to the job. I said yes. I have been going to them since 2012 and they provide good reliable service like this. PLUS, so far anyway, the prices have been reasonable. I went there because I heard from several people that they provide good service. And, as illustrated here, that is what I have experienced. One friend of mine thought they were the best in the area. So, I hope they can keep up the good work for reasonable prices. I think Gates Mishawaka works hard to do that. They are a valuable asset to the community.

I bought a new car from Gates Chevy World and I go there for service now.  I was there about a year ago, well for my oil change, I haven't had any troubles to take it back.  I know that there like every other garage but you know you have to wait a long time and I guess you can't get around that.  Interactions with them were fine.  If you make an appointment with somebody you shouldn't have to wait so long.  Maybe they overbook too many.  You just can't get away from waiting around.  The work they have done has turned out good.  The price is fair.

They did some auto repair that was very good. The auto body work was very well done. They did it in a timely manner. They did a very good job. You couldn't tell that anything happened. It was for a fender bender.

The service was covered under warranty.  They are pretty friendly and explained things pretty well to me as I really didn't know anything about the parts & so.  I think a lot of mechanics kind of take advantage when the people don't know; but they were pretty patient with me and explained really in detail what they were doing & why they were doing it.  They worked pretty fast, so that was nice.  The work that they did in the past was very reasonable.  It is a dealership, but a little bit more expensive.

I was so impressed with Gates Chevy World! I took my '09 Pontiac G5 coupe to a local SuperCenter-type store to have the battery tested and replaced, only two leave 3.5 hours later with a bad attitude and no new battery. It turned out that since my car is no longer being manufactured and isn't particularly common, I needed an AC Delco (manufacturer's) battery put in. Since I'm not from the area, I wasn't sure who to call, but I chose Gates due to the close proximity. I called and spoke with an EXTREMELY helpful representative who told me to come in right away and they'd get me all taken care of. He even offered a tentative quote over the phone, which most dealerships are stingy about. I took my car in, was greeted by the same friendly rep that helped me on the phone, and I was out of there within an hour and a half with a new battery. To get a factory-brand battery and service that I can actually trust, it only cost me roughtly $10 more than what the SuperCenter and other auto parts stores quoted me! If anything goes wrong with my vehicle again, I know where to go!

We have used Gates Chevy World in Mishawak to sservice our 2000 impala. There have been times when the work performed was questionable or downright sloppy like the time I had my brakes done only to drive to work the next day with a sickening loud grinding noise coming from the back ...it was so bad I called them to ask if I should even be driving on it. They looked at it after work and said their mechanic forgot to hook up the emergency brake right and it got hung up. That time there was also a smaller noise with the brakes which I found out later is normal enough...but that didn't stop them from convincing me it was the part of the steering assembly they replaced but made no difference...in the end it corrected itself after driving more. Most recently we brought it in for the cheapest oil change available (we normally do it ourselves but had too much else to do) ...I think it was supposed to be $9.999 or $19.99. But it was the oil change special. I ended up paying $60 for that and a cabin air filter. What I don't understand is how they can take a filter out and check it as part of the routine inspection provided with the oil change but then charge me to put a clean one back in after I agreed to buy a filter. Seems to me. 25 hours of labor is a bit excessive when they would have put the old one back in for free had I not bought a new one. Then after getting home I found the dip stichandle k broken and told them about that. The oil looked dirty after it was done too. I told them I wanted a new dip stick so they gave me a new one.

What an experience! I test drove the car on wednesday and it was mine by friday! One of the easiest car buying experiences I have ever had. We love the car, it was recommended to us by Mr Baer, the salesman. the were able to get us good financing and a low interest rate while staying in our budget. Very Very pleased. we will buy our next car from there!

Our first interaction with Gates was for the purchase of my car almost 2 years ago. We were paying cash and the sale went very quickly. They were professional and all around good salesmen. I was purchasing a trade in, while the customers trading the car were still there. The car had not even been put into the system yet. We paid that day and they took the car into the service that night to look it over, giving it all necessary service. I picked it up the next day and it was detailed and was running better than when I had looked it over. I was so impressed with the service that when my husbands car broke down a few months ago I immediately suggested that we go back to Gates. I was a little scared, because we would have to do financing as we didn't have the cash to buy a car and we were expecting our first child in just over a month. However, they were amazing. They worked very well with our budget and found us a great car. They handled most of the financing paperwork and they explained everything as we went.
We have also had some service done by the service department. Each time it was reasonably priced and was done when they said it would be. They were always professional and would explain exactly what needed to be done and why. We never had any unexpected charges. I know when we need a car in the future, that we will go to a Gate's location!

I had a really good deal on it. Once I buy a car from them; they mail out these flyers. The oil change was free and the front-end alignment was $39. I don't remember what it was for the belt but it was a very fair price. We got the coupons for the free oil change and a coupon for the $39 front-end alignment. I bought my car in 2004, and I am still getting coupons all this time later. I would use them again in the future.

My car needed body work done after an accident. Gates is the dealership where I purchased the car. They gave me an immediate estimate, clarified my insurance coverage and scheduled the work quickly. They were very cooperative when I rescheduled the work due to weather conditions. The work was done completely, on time and the paperwork involved was fully explained.

Was quoted a lower price when I came in initally. Would have been happier if price was in the same ballpark when I checked out. The charge for labor was around $90 dollars an hour. I wish I had just purchased the parts and had them installed outside of the dealership. I would not reccommend using Gates unless you receive the correct price beforehand.
