I reminded them that WE were there at the scheduled start, that we had both taken a day off work to be present (property is an out-of-state second home), and that we had reserved a crew of 4 and it's not our fault one left early. They would not budge.
What cleaning they did was average, but the project was left incomplete. The cost was grossly excessive and came out on a per hour basis to 100% more than we pay back in our home town of Chicago ($350). Note: rural northern Indiana is typically far less for services than a large city.
So folks, don't use this firm. They clearly care about themselves a whole lot more than their clients. No doubt they get away with it because the competition in this rural area for home cleaning services is so light.
As they were getting ready to go I noticed that my kitchen floors we streaked all over, which they attempted to fix to no avail. I told them I would take care of it and they left. (I did have to clean my kitchen floors a couple of time to get it back to normal)
Upon checking the rest of the job I noticed that my kitchen bench and my bathtub were not cleaned. The living room carpet had
so many footsteps that I could not tell where it was vacuumed.
All in all, I was disappointed after hearing the good prior experiences posted on this sight.
I did received a phone call to follow up and was able to let them know my concerns; he offered to send someone over to take care of it but I declined since I was already doing it myself. No other contact was made.
"Our first indication that arrival time was an issue was in June 2013 in an email "...since the kids are home from school I was wondering if I could get a smaller window of time when to expect the ladies... Even a text the day before estimating the time would be great. Other than that things are going great. If there are any concerns please let me know. Thanks! [member name removed]". We then changed her file to "9-10 am or email" which we then did each Thursday prior to her Friday cleaning when we were going to arrive out of that time frame. We were unaware of any disappointment with the actual cleaning until we received an email in Feb 2014. We were working with the team to address her concerns when we were dropped because of an arrival time frustration on March 7. I left a voicemail and emailed her that day to try to reach an agreement but have never heard back."
Initial cleaning was not completed as requested. Crew finished on a subsequent visit, which was added to our bill. Each time the crew was out, they neglected to fully clean our kitchen tile. Furniture was not swept under including beds, couches, etc. Showers/tubs were not cleaned thoroughly. These issues were addressed after each visit and assurance was given that the subsequent visit would provide better results, but the same issues continued.
When he came to our home, the owner provided a very thorough list of
items to be done. Most were done---and done well. Some were never
done. For example, he made a point to talk about having the exterior
entryway swept out. It was never done. We were not fans of the vacuum
cleaner they use. It is basically a shop vac.
OUR BIGGEST COMPLAINT: I had to call and switch our time for service. At this
point, we had been using them for about three months. They rescheduled
and also sent an email to let us know that our price went from approx.
$115 to $150. Just shy of a 30% increase from THEIR quoted price.
They seem like genuinely nice people, but the price increase was far too steep for us to absorb.
