+ 1 moreThe job went extremely well the hot water heater was installed within a few hours the old one taken out and loaded in my truck for scrap. Furnace and air conditioning were installed within a day and a half. The men were highly qualified, professional, and enjoyable to have around, they made sure to cover our floor with drop Cloths so they did not make a mess of our home at all. They're clean up time was minimal at most as they picked up and cleaned up as they went. This was a complete install of all Heating components and air conditioning components as well.My dogs, who don't like anybody love the installers. Made my wife feel very comfortable while I was at work. I would highly recommend A Good Neighbor, to do all of your heating and air conditioning needs.

+ -1 moreSmooth talking incompetent senior technician and staff. The furnace wasn't working, they tried to sell me a new furnace system for $10,000! When they left I contacted the manufacturer of the furnace and they recommended that I check the air filter, it was dirty so I put a new one in for $29 and it works fine!! They also tried to insist I had a moisture problem in the basement and I've NEVER had any moisture problem! They were trying to make me think some parts are going to rust and need replaced. Then when I called them at their request to ask why I wanted a refund, and I explained what I did the owner laughed at me and didn't want to believe me, she defended the employee vigorously. She was very concerned about their public image. Now you know the truth, do your own research or get a second opinion, it may save you $10,000.

+ -1 moreWe had used them in the past. I knew they were charging me too much, but I needed it done. I had them come out and they suggested to have the condenser and the electric switch replaced on my AC unit. I called around afterwards to other heating and cooling places and found out they gave estimates half the price of what I paid Good Neighbor. As a mechanical engineer I believe after inspecting the unit, it didn't seem that I needed the condenser replaced at all.

Description of Work: My A/C wasn't cooling efficiently anymore, I had them come out to test it. They tested the system and said that it very likely had a leak and was low, so they added 2 lbs. of coolant and said I would very likely need to put in a new system the following year (it was close to the end of the year). So the next year I had someone else check the system because their work didn't make any noticeable improvement in the system. After checking the system they said it was 2 lbs. over charged and just needed to have the main coil cleaned. This fixed the problem and it worked great for me for years, I sold the house and the AC was still in great condition. My cousin had an issue with their heating unit this past winter and called Good Neighbor to check it out, Good Neighbor said they had to replace the whole system ($7,000.00), they got a second opinion and everything worked fine after some wiring issues were resolved ($300).

+ -1 moreI called on Tuesday afternoon, the service tech was there the next morning, on time. He checked the system and found it to be low on Freon, causing our cooling problems. He told me how much it would cost to recharge (ouch!) before performing the service, and had checked out the system for leaks before refilling so the new, very expensive Freon wouldn't just blow through a hole in the system. Aside from the high cost of Freon which is out of their control, A Good Neighbor Heating and Cooling was prompt and efficient, did a great job and got us back up and running quickly.

+ -1 moreWith two missed appts. I can't tell you how it went overall, but will never call them again.
Description of Work: I called them last winter march of 2009, Because Our furnace would not turn on at all. I called on a Saturday some man answered what Sounded like a cell phone, told him our problem gave him our contact info he said he would "give it to the girls in the office on Monday. We had an appt. set up for the following Friday that was the soonest he could get us in. Called them that Friday they had never heard of me evidently he never told the girls in the office. So I called church who sent someone out the following monday and did a great job. This past December of 2009 I called A good Neighbor again Cuz there were running a special on furnace maintenance. Anyway talked with a nice elderly lady who said the special was over made an appt. for Dec.18th at 2:00, called them at 3:00 when no one showed up. Told the girl who answered the phone she put me on hold then the elderly lady came on and said I'm sorry it's my fault. I told what happened last March and she kept apologizing. I finally hung up on her.
