I have never paid such a price for house cleaning, though I probably would have felt it was warranted had this company come in with professional, effective equipment. I've had various cleaning women through the years who came equipped with ladders, poles, etc., left the house sparkling, cleaned the windows, and charged almost half of what Home Matters Cleaning Service charged. Unfortunately, in the rural area where my second home is located, women don't regard house cleaning as a long-term career and seem to drop away from this type of work after a year or two. I felt that a service such as Home Matters would be more reliable and would stay in business longer than the people I've had in the past, which is why I responded to their ad in the first place. Additionally, I assumed that a service would have professional equipment that would give them an advantage over the "part timers." I have subsequently asked around of other people who use cleaning people and none pay anywhere near $185., let alone $230.
