We have a contract with them and use them every year. I was pleased with the service and we have a very healthy lawn. Anytime I ask them to take care of something, they do that. We never had any problem with them.

Very well. Michael V on Friday 10/12 /18 explained that he was going to apply a liquid fertilizer to our yard. He said his notes said the south side of our yard was recently sodded so he was going to apply a granular fertilizer to that part as the granular fertilizer was better for newly sodded lawn. He took the extra time needed for our newly sodded lawn. He was very polite, courteous and thorough in his explanation of what he was going to do. You could tell he took his job seriously and enjoyed it. Some companies send out grumpy service people, but not Trugreen.

Short Story: Terrible. Find someone else to take care of your lawn or do it your self and avoid the disrespect, shabby service, and high prices. Long Story: I cancelled my service and demanded a refund today, the 5th of July, after a technician disrespected my wife. In the months that I have had TruGreen, my lawn shows the same level of mediocrity as my neighbors, who do not have lawn service and they NEVER water. After having TruGreen since April, my lawn has received "three" treatments, two of which (TruComplete Lawn Service and Grub Control) came on the same day and I still have weeds, bald spots, and my grass looks weak as ever despite the decent amount of rain and regular watering over the summer. I paid TruGreen $460 UP FRONT in April for the total lawn care package because I was not satisfied with the results I had on my own from the previous summer. As July has rolled around and I saw no real improvement in my lawn compared to the rest of the neighborhood and from the previous year, I put a note on their website that I was dissatisfied and I was told I would be contacted by a technician. Someone showed up to my house (unannounced), checked my lawn, and told my wife in a rude and unprofessional manner that I wasn't watering the grass enough and I was cutting it too low. He then ridiculed what he suspected was lack of water pressure at my home and suggested we couldn't afford a device to measure water level. After he was done talking down to my wife, he forcefully and with attitude read the list of grievances to my wife that I posted on my account and stated if we watered the grass more we wouldn't have as many weeds. My wife told me she felt threatened by his hostility and he seemed clearly annoyed at the fact that I posted my issues with our lawn care on the company web site. TruGreen clearly did not send someone to my home to fix the issue or retain a customer (a prepaying customer), instead they sent someone out with a chip on their shoulder. I could go to a big box store and obtain the same results and not have my wife or my lawn treated this way. A professional and courteous phone call explaining that I needed to water more, mow less would have been sufficient, but this whole ordeal just stinks of a low brow overpriced operation. Note: the $123 is the amount that should be charged to my card after they refund $337 of the $460 that I prepaid.

Service was never performed. After two months of being told they would be coming next week, I demanded a refund and will never to business with this company again.

So far it is going well. Last year we had the same service through TruGreen and we were disappointed with the aeration and overseeding. But we decided to give it another year.

They were fantastic.

What I like about them is, if they do a treatment and then if you see weeds or something and you call them up, they will come out and put another treatment on and they won?t charge you. They don?t us anyway, I don?t know if they do everybody this way. I have it so I pay for the year for so many treatments.

It is really nice. Because you always know, If there is a problem, something doesn?t look right, you?re concerned about something. You call them and they will come out and look. Their company, I think has done better in the last 2 years than previously. I think they are improving! 
I had a little bit of a problem the last couple times, they said they would be out and they weren?t out.

The first year, my grass was nice, thick and green. I liked the way it looked. I'm a little disappointed this year because they said they put weed control and the next thing I know, crab grass started appearing yet there were no weeds before. They sent someone back out but the weeds are still there. I found out that they charged me for the return visit. I think their price is a little too high for the work they do. Every time they're coming, they call and always show up.

They've done a pretty good job. I know it's required by their company. They want to make the money. I signed up for it and they do this on a regular basis, but last summer we went through a dry spell. It wasn't as bad as the past years although we've had them too. When there's a dry spell, I do not water my lawn, there’s not enough water in this town and they did it last summer, but they had in the past rationing of the water. They've got water from Lake Michigan coming down here now so it will be available to us, but during that time, they continue to come with the fertilization and I kept telling them to stop burning my lawn. They did a better job last year. We had enough moisture last year but I always worry about that. They come when they say they are going to come. They call first and they give me a heads up. I won't advice anyone who has pets to have a lawn service. Our last pet developed cancer. It was a fox terrier, and the backyard was fenced at that time so he can run through in the big backyard. They were treating it and I’m very sure that that’s what caused him to develop cancer. I would have to pay for granules and stuff if I did it myself. They do go around and check the lawn and I can do other services such as they told me I needed to do overseeding last fall so I overseed right under the last snowfall last spring so they didn’t do any overseeding for me, but they do check on other things and point out other things to me. I will say this, the grub control has worked. They got rid of the vols. I just wish they would get rid of the chipmunks. When it comes to punctuality, they don’t tell me an exact time. What they do is they tell they are going to be out in the morning or in the afternoon, or they would be out on that day. They are out on that day and they give me a call. My frustration is the fact that many times it’s a robocall and I cannot get the callback if I say it would be better if they didn’t do it that day or something like that. They are punctual. They come when they say they are going to come. Many times I am out and about or I’m doing something somewhere else and they go ahead and do it. I don’t have a chance to watch them. They do leave a note on my door that tells me what they have done and the amount of material they have used. They are never there long enough for me to ask what they are doing.

We signed a contract for a year's worth of lawn care services and have followed every recommendation they had to improve our lawn.  After a year and $1,200 our lawn is still full of weeds, brown grass and bare spots.  We have tried contacting the local office with no success and recently wrote a letter to the corporate offices of Scotts in Ohio and got no response from them either.  We tried using the Scotts products available in any home improvement store and weren't happy with the results so thought a professional application with a regular schedule would help but we were very wrong.  They say the service is "satisfaction guaranteed" but we haven't been offered anything.  Returning to apply more chemicals doesn't seem like a viable option.  I would never, ever recommend these services.

They're always polite and professional. They always let you know the day before that they're coming. A professional wearing the proper shirt and van will show up. They do the work and always lead feedback on your door about how your lawn looks and make recommendations for further work. They're good. I don't have any problem with them.

Tru Green has been servicing our lawn for approximately 20 years!  We had become increasing more dissatisfied with their service. I received an estimate from another company providing the same treatment - we'll be saving over $100 by switching companies!

It went fine. I like that they are local. They do a great job. They are very prompt.

It was fine. I had no problems. They're dependable.

It was a year ago. The basic chemical mix worked very well with the lawn, but I couldn't get them to spray for weeds on the whole lot. The guy didn't spray next to the garage on one side, or in one bald spot.
That was a bit annoying, but after one spray last summer, there was a four foot patch of fertilizer burn in an otherwise nice area in the back yard. I can kill the lawn myself cheaper. Had they not called up to try to sell me some other service, right after that, I might have let it go. The spot did more or less recover this year. I did the liquid weed-and-feed myself this year, to similar effect.
