I found Maximus on the list and read several of the reviews. I had not heard of the company before, but liked what I read. As insurance was covering the vast majority of the repairs, my job was to shop for the people to do the work. Boy, was I glad I called Eric! Right from the first phone call, Eric answered personally---no voice mail or answering service, though during the course of the work we did occaisionally play phone tag (no problem---to be expected). I spoke to him late on a Thursday afternoon, and his first question to me was if the insurance people had been out yet. I said that they were set to inspect the roof at noon the following Monday (1& 1/2 business days away). He said he wanted to be there when they walked the roof to make sure they didn't miss anything since he had worked on the other side in the insurance end of things for 20 yrs( I think) and knew what to look for. As it happened, he got to the house and had done his own inspection before the insurance company's inspector even arrived! I was so impressed! He knew exactly what needed to be done and, yes, he DID point out several things that the insurance people had missed! Furthermore, once he had the specifics he needed, he already had several books of shingle samples in his truck for me to look at for the new roof. Wow! And to think I had only called him less than 2 business days ago FOR AN ESTIMATE! I had called several other places earlier in the week and had appts for estimates coming up in the next 2 weeks. Here, Eric was ready to schedule the work before I would even be getting my next estimate! It was very clear that he wanted my business and he made me feel like a priority without being pushy. I still went through with the other scheduled estimates, but Eric got the job! Unfortunately, I was not able to be at home to actually witness the work being done. Eric said everything would be done in 1 day and he was right! (about 6hrs actually) He kept me abreast of the work by sending me pictures of the work in progress and the final product. I appreciated that! He also personally hauled away all the trash and clean-up was terrific! (he said he didn't like using dumpsters as they were an eyesore, they generally didn't get picked back up promptly and they usually left marks on the driveway. Wow! Again I was impressed!) The roof looked great when I got to see it in person! Furthermore, Eric was also able to help me out on half my insurance deductible! If I were to move and find the next house needed a new roof I would call Eric in a heartbeat!!

Eric is a very nice person and seemed knowlegable about the work that needed to be done. I think this was a very busy time for him since there had been a storm with hail damage. All that being said, I would prefer him saying he was too busy serving other customers and would not be able to get to us rather than dragging things along, making commitments he couldn't keep and delaying our repairs. I don't like having to give a negative comment but just being a nice guy didn't get the job done.

Eric came to our house to give us an estimate at the time given. He told me he would do all I asked with the products I specified. He told me his pricing would be the best I'd get from any competing company and he was correct. I received a quote with the upgraded dimensional name brand shingles (not a no name brand), ridge vent, replacement of required roof sheeting and flashing. His price and crew were excellent! ! ! I could not have asked for a better job. I highly recommend all other Angie List users consider Maximus.

I highly recommend Eric Hunsucker and Maximus General Contracting. Eric worked patiently with us and made a couple of visits to go over details with us and with the adjuster from the insurance company. Because there was damage to the siding, gutters, and other parts of the house, there were many details to sort out. We still have some work yet to be accomplished but I am confident in Eric's abilities to get it done right. Years ago, Eric was in the business of insurance himself so he is uniquely qualified to work with adjusters and others from insurance companies in order to get results. The crew that put on our roof was very efficient. We have a 1500 square foot house and the roof was on in less than a day. The men who worked on the house were professional and courteous. Eric is aware of many options in the business of general contracting and that can be very helpful in making decisions. He is well connected to others in the industry and knows how to get things done. To anyone needing a general contractor for insurance work or repairs on the home, I would recommend Maximus first.

Maximus General Contracting LLC reroofed our house and shed and replaced gutters on the house because of damage caused by a recent hailstorm. Mr. Eric Hunsucker, Owner, was very professional, patient, prompt, complete and precise in the work that his company performed. Prior to starting the job, he thoroughly outlined the various options available for the roofing and gutter jobs and the corresponding price and the advantages of each. We had a particular problem with part of our continuous hung gutters that was caused by rotting fascia board. One of his crew cut the rotten sections out of the fascia board and replaced the rotten sections with new treated wood prior to installing the gutters. Some of this work is tricky and not easy for the average homeowner ? the carpenter that Eric employs did an excellent job in reconstructing part of the fascia board structure. The crew found a leak in the roof covering our shed and part of the decking was replaced prior to installing the roof shingles. (we had no idea that the shed had been leaking). The price was right, the roofs were installed in one day and the gutters within a few hours during a following day. Eric and his crew (including the gutter contractor that the company contracts with) were a pleasure to deal with. They were very attentive to our needs including doing the job right. Quality and workmanship were excellent. When the job was done, my wife and I truly felt that we received very high quality roofs for our house and shed and gutters for our house that were installed promptly and in an excellent manner. We highly recommend to anyone Maximus General Contracting LLC for roof or gutter repair or replacement.

We had a couple of roof leaks and after initially consulting another Angie's list contractor first, we chose to go with Maximus due to price and ease of working directly with Eric Hunsucker the owner of Maximus. All went very well. Due to shoddy workmanship by the original builder of our home (Ryland), we had an entire new roof installed and some rotting wood trim around our windows expanded and replaced. Eric and his crew took extra effort not to damage our extensive landscaping around our home during the roofing tear off and replacement process. There were a couple of bumps along the way in the projects, but Eric handled everything to our satisfaction with no hassles. If the quality of work by his company stays as great as it is now, we will use him again in the future. We would recommend Maximus General Contracting to our friends and family.

Chose to call Maximus after thoroughly looking at Angie's List Top-rated roofers with the most reviews. Called them because of consistently positive reviews from people who used their services indicating honesty, fairness in pricing and quality of work (recent negative reviews are notable for being from people who did NOT use their services). Had my call returned promptly, followed by visits from Eric Hunsucker, who provided an estimate which was more than fair and answered all my questions about what needed to be done. He clearly is interested in customer satisfaction, which can be gleaned from reviewing other reviews as they all speak to his positive personality. Scheduling for roofing jobs requires some patience as you have to work around the weather and other competing work, but Mr. Hunsucker kept me posted as to when to expect completion of the job. They arrived and finished on the day scheduled, completely cleaned up and left without any evidence of having been there except for a beautiful new roof with upgrades!! The best part was being able to sit on my enclosed porch deck this morning while it was raining without it leaking all over me:) Have recommended Maximus to my family, and would gladly use again.

Eric came over rather promptly and provided me with estimate of services for a complete rip off and replacement of shingles on my extremely steep pitched roof. Though not the cheapest, Eric's bid was significantly below two of the major roofing companies found in Louisville and it was the recommendations of previous Angie's List customers and Eric's personality that won the bid. Within a few days after I announced that he had won the bid, Eric arrived with a full crew to start and finish my roof in a single day! It was amazing! Eric also replaced sections of my vinyl siding damaged by hail and the previous owners errant weed whacker. He even came up with innovative ways to reuse the good sections of siding in other damaged areas to minimize the discoloration with the new replacement vinyl. My wife came home and could not even see the difference between the new siding and the old due to Eric?s expert color matching. If in the future, I have another property requiring Maximus? services, I will be sure to call Eric! Thanks Eric for doing a fantastic job!

Eric Hunsucker came out on a snowy day to provide a quote for a roof repair by our chimney. He was punctual and we appreciated him coming out with poor weather. He was not able to inspect the roof due to the snow. But came inside and saw the interior damage. He said he would need to come back to provide a quote. I had to call him back and ask about the follow up and quote. Another appointment was made and one of his workers came by to examine the roof. The worker was very nice and examined the chimney from the outside and through the attic. He said he needed to discuss with Eric and I would receive a quote soon. A quote never arrived. Due to their lack of follow through, we did not feel compelled to call back and ask for the quote.

I called late in the day on Friday, April 19th, to request an estimate to replace my roof. Eric called me right back. I told him that I was getting ready to list my property for sale and that I was hoping to replace the roof as soon as possible. He said he would handle the estimate personally. I never heard from him again. I went with another company.

Maximus (Eric Hunsucker) performed the roofing job in October, 2011. At that time, we discussed siding the entire house (which is 3-story and has plenty of detail work), and he gave me separate estimates for both jobs. The weather turned, and we ended up waiting an entire year to do the siding. In Nov 2012, he kindly honored his original estimate, which he was under no obligation to do. We had him come back to do the siding because his price was good, the job was completed quickly, and it was done well. The siding job, while big and complicated, was completed in a timely manner. Along the way he had to replace rotted decking (roof job) and deal with some other carpentry hassles- which he did without gouging me on materials (which is unusual for some contractors); I believe he did those repairs at virtual cost. His roofing estimate was considerably lower than the other one I got from a competitor, and the third contractor that I attempted to get an estimate from did not even show up. Eric's siding price was similar to the original competitor, but since I'd already dealt with Eric, and he was fair, reasonable, and prompt, I went with him. I'm glad I did. The house looks great, and my wife and I are very happy with the job.

We were selling our house and no longer living in the state, but Eric worked with me to ensure our roofing and timeline needs were met. Due to a firm timeline and bad weather we were rushed to get the job completed in time for our closing, but Eric pulled in two crews on a Sunday to tear off and replace our roof. I would definable use Eric's company again.

Excellent service and communication from this company. It couldn't have gone better for a true novice like me. Mr. Hunuscker came out, looked at the property and at the insurance company's estimate, and promised to do the job and save on the deductible. Explained the process thoroughly, performed the work when scheduled and appears to have done an excellent job, as i write some six weeks on. The experience was for me smooth and stress free. I definitely recommend Maximus and would call them again.

Made call, got estimate, made appointment for job to be done. They arrived on time and completed the job quickly.

Perfect. House roof and 2+ car detached garage is 1.5 days with tear off. No fuss, no issues, and no nails or mess left for me to deal with. Eric is very good to work with, I would hire him again twice.

Eric, the owner, actually responded to my initial inquiry for an estimate while he was on vacation which was impressive. After he returned home we subsequently set a date for him to come out and inspect/measure my roof. He didn't show. I called him to follow-up to make sure my calendar wasn't wrong and he apologized that he hadn't put our appointment in his calendar. Fortunately I didn't have anything else planned that day and we agreed for him to come out later that day. He spent quite a bit of time in the hot sun inspecting the roof and measuring, and we had an in-depth discussion about roofing options in general. Eric inquired if I had spoke with my insurance adjuster and I told him yes, they confirmed my coverage for hail damage. He then offered to do the job for whatever my insurance company would cover. He had previous experience as an adjuster himself and assured me he could be an effective interface between me and the insurance company adjuster, and maybe even help cover some of my deductible. I liked the idea of all that he had said up to that point, and it did sound appealing to just let him handle all the details of the job and insurance claim. However, I still wanted a written agreement which stipulated what my expectations were for the job and specified what materials were to be installed and where, and he was reluctant to provide that. He really wanted me to make the decision to hire him right there before he left, without anything in writing, which I wouldn't do until I had my other estimates in hand. I eventually got a very broad, general description of the bid from Eric which I felt didn't protect my interests enough with sufficient detail. These last two observations were the deciding factor not to hire Maximus.

I contacted Maximus Roofing to replace our existing roof and gutters with a certain budget in mind. Eric was very easy to work with and we came to a quick agreement in terms of cost. Eric set up a date a couple weeks out to begin work with the roof replacement. Upon his arrival, he realized that our roof had two layers of shingles but the insurance company had only paid for removal of one layer. He advised us of the issue and said he would contact the agent , even after we offered to take care of it. A few weeks later, Eric contacted us to begin the gutter work. We did have some issues with the wrong color gutters being placed on the front side of our home, but Eric was quick to correct the problem and the staff was here the following day to replace them with the correct ones. We are very pleased with the new roof and gutters, and the whole process was handled in a professional way. Eric and his crew were very timely and responsive. I would definitely recommend Maximus Contracting.

They were very courteous and pleasant in getting back with me. They worked with me on scheduling to have the work done too.

We received no response via the email/request for quote. And we received no response from our voice mail left for him last week. I find this unacceptable, in any business. I don't tolerate it in my line of work and I won't tolerate it when seeking contractors for my home. If you're too busy, delegate a person to return the call and say so. If the job's too small, call/email and say so. If you don't work in our area, call/email and say so.

My husband and I decided to use another roofer. It was a tough decision but felt that the other roofer had impressed us with how they were going to fix a roof slope and other issues with the roof. Eric offered a slightly lower cost but with a product like a roof which is supposed to last 25-30 years, it wasn't enough to make a difference in our decision.

We had a windows done by a different company and had Maximus come in the day after to replace the siding. I got 6 estimates prior to choosing Maximus and I thought Eric (owner) was the most reasonable and from talking with him he gave me the best feeling that he wouldn't cut corners or rush through it and that he would do it right (another contractor told me he would get it done in a day). Eric was very honest, he told me exactly what he was going to do and gave me a really fair estimate (after 6 estimates, I think his bid was VERY fair for the amount of work he was going to complete, and while not the lowest, the lowest bid I got was from someone who didn't sound like he knew what he was doing). Eric came out to the house while the window installers where still installing the windows to check things out and make sure things were going to be coordinated nicely (impressed because I do realize hiring two separate companies for tasks that go hand in hand might get a little uncomfortable). After all the windows were in (except for 1, because the wrong size was made), Eric's crew showed up and did everything that was agreed to. Periodically, Eric would stop by to check on how things were going. It took his crew a couple/few days to complete all the work, but it was done right and he was flexible in holding off completing a small section where we saw some carpenter ant damage and that I wanted sprayed before siding that area. I should also say that when the window installer (35 years of experience) came back to put in the final window after the siding was done, he said "that guy who did your siding did a really good job, I like the way he did [talked about several things]....You can really tell when they do a good job or bad job and that guy did a really good job." So Maximus got a thumbs up from the window company as well. Overall, I am totally happy with the work. GOOD QUALITY, GOOD PRICE, GOOD SERVICE. Thanks.

Maximum GC provided excellent service and got the tasks done quickly. I would recommend them for any roofing needs. They decided to take on the inside work which they normally do not do. This work was done well also.

We had a hail storm on 7/24/2012. I called Maximus on 7/25 am. He was able to come out that afternoon. He was thorough, pleasant , professional & honest. He told me there was no damage due to the hail storm.

Took awhile for Eric and I to connect timewise to get things started, but he was always very responsive to pick up phone calls, or return phone calls whenever I tried to reach him. Eric stopped by the house and checked things out, then spoke with me over the phone to give a rough idea of what was needed. He then met with my husband on a Saturday morning to get more specific and detailed. They agreed on price and work to be done. By Monday afternoon Eric had himself and two workers start and complete the job. They left things in good shape and the work was done very well. We would definately hire Eric again.

Eric the owner was professional and attentive from start to finish. The estimate was competitive price-wise, and I was confident based on the estimate that they were the right company for the job; I had confidence they were going to be professional and do a good job. They first removed the old gutters, replaced any damaged wood, painted the brick and wood, and finally put up the new gutters and downspouts. Each step of the way, Eric called and/or stopped by to follow up and make sure everything was going to my liking, and frankly it was. He uses guys that are professional and it seemed clear take pride in doing a good job. Would use again for future projects.
