About us

Fall Creek Veterinary Medical Center is a modern, full-service small animal hospital that provides complete preventative and medical/ surgical care to pets in the Fishers/ Geist/ McCordsville/ northeast Indianapolis area. Opened in 2007 by Dr. Jerry Risser, a 1992 graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, the office offers facilities for digital x-rays, laser therapy, spay/neuter and other soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, geriatric care, cancer medicine and chemotherapy, safe anesthesia, hospitalization and critical care medicine. Initial examinations for newly-adopted pets from animal shelters and rescue organizations are always free. We also welcome the opportunity to offer second opinions. The hospital staff is well-trained, experienced and friendly. Drs, Aaron Luth, Katherine Becker and Wendy Moore are also on the veterinary staff. We are in a beautiful freestanding 6,500 square foot building near 96th Street and Olio Road. We encourage you to visit, meet our staff and take a tour of our facility. Estimates for major services are gladly provided.

The team at Fall Creek Veterinary were wonderful. Kind, patient and reasonable. The doctors are very knowledgeable and compassionate; the staff are always friendly. Highly, highly recommend!

I had a pet rat that we put to sleep and that's how I ended up going there. The other vet we went to wanted $80 to euthanize a rat, and Fall Creek was $15. I found them to be very reasonable, and they provide good, high quality services. I also have a dog and two cats and they all go to Fall Creek vets.

They're caring. We had to put one of our dogs to sleep and they did a great job planning with us during the trying time. They did a fantastic job. The dogs are well taken care of.

Our eight year old Labrador Retriever injured his elbow in the field hunting and was limping very badly the next day. Fall Creek Veterinary Clinic got us in immediately. Dr. Luth performed an examination and x-rays to rule out a break or fracture. We were given two prescriptions to give him for pain and inflammation. Two days later the doctor called to see how our dog was doing. We've seen improvement and hope he'll mend without any further visits although we'll be bringing him back for his annuals and any trouble in the future. The staff and doctor was very friendly and accommodating and the office nice and clean.

I've been taking my cat to Dr. Riser for several years now.  He's always kind and compassionate with realistic expectations with treatments.  He always calls me directly with lab results and discuss plan of care.  His staff is excellent and they almost always call me days after a visit to check in on her to see how she is doing.  I trust his clinical decision making skills and appreciate the fact that he is conservative in his approaches.  I have recommended him now to several friends.

Very well.  We've been going to Dr. Risser for one year.  He's compassionate, personable, professional and knowledgeable.  I appreciate that when he makes recommendations he's also realistic how it being doable.

Ann is the groomer at FCV.  Ava is our second bichon, so we've been getting one or two bichons groomed almost monthly since 1998.  Ann does a fantastic job--our dogs have never looked better than the grooming that Ann provides.  Dr. Risser provides our vet services, and he is professional, kind, informative, patient and everything you would want your vet to be.  He had me years ago when I took our first bichon to him for a recurring ear infection and itchy skin.  He rubbed her head and said, "Sometimes it's not easy being a little white dog."  So true and so sweet!  The entire staff is pleasant, professional and thoughtful.  You can tell that they all love animals.  Also, many of the staff members have worked with Dr. Risser for several years (we've been with him for almost 10 years, I think) and I always think it is telling when good staff members stay with an employer.

Dr. Riser and his staff are always very friendly and professional. He is very thorough and answers any questions concerning my cat's health. I have been seeing him for several years now and am always happy with the level of care my cat receives. He and his staff discuss the cost of services before anything extra is done so you can decide what is right for you and your pet. I have been to several vets over the years and can truly say that Dr. Riser ranks at the top of my favorite vet list.

We have been bringing our pets to Dr. Risser for years. We simply adore him! He is fabulous with pets and their owners. He always explains things very clearly. He truly cares about the animals he cares for and it shows. His staff is awesome as well! I simply can't say enough good things about Dr. Risser and his staff, we are so lucky to have them care for our fur babies!

I moved to Indianapolis last year and was a bit more than nervous about finding new care providers in a new town. I found Dr. Risser to be not only thorough but very loving toward my dog as well. The office staff was very friendly.  They even made a follow-up call to make sure my dog was recovering well.  Every visit has been a good experience.

We have used Fall Creek Vet since it opened.  We followed Dr. Risser from his prior practice even though the drive was a bit longer because we felt he was caring, qualified and very understanding.  I would have no problem recommending his practice. All of the staff is super.  We especially like Kali and she really seems to know her stuff and love animals.

We have taken our dogs there for many many years upon the referral of a friend. They have excellent staff and care especially when boarding and when there is a problem. Dr. Risser is very responsive and does not order extra unnecessary treatments for the care of our pets. The facility is very clean in there always accessible and responsive by phone and by email.
