Repaired outside chimney masonry and placed a cap on the top of the chimney. It went very well and the job was well done.

Richard came by when planned for an estimate. Explained the work to me. Came back 2 days later when planned, set up scaffolding, did the work as planned. I'm not getting up on the roof to judge his work, but based on everything else, I'm confident he did a good job.

A few arguments when we were talking about the job and he
wanted half up front. I did pay and then almost on completion.
My roofer{Sheriff-Goslin, with whom I am really happy} provided
extra shingles for the job
My contact person at Sheriff-Goslin checked the work a few
days ago since I saw a lose shingle hanging from the
dormer. He said the job on the chimney was well done.
I was not happy with cigarette butts in the driveway, cement
on my plants and windows. When I cleaned the gutters
I found more cement.
I feel he could have done a better job of cleaning up the place
and based on the original price noted in the ad when I
paid Angie's list, I felt he overcharged me based on the
number of hours worked.
It seems he took advantage of me with your offer.
Also a hole appeared which had not been there
prior to the work in my gutter.
Response from Tru-core masonry
"Responding on [member name removed] chimney , I received a not very pleasant review on chimney work that was done in two days it was planed and completed on time and as you have read her roofer said it was a great job. There was no mess left behind like she had indicated and nothing of mine touched the gutters! I think that some people was under the assumption that a 99$ coupon would be enough to cover the tear down and rebuild of a chimney !"

Richard Watkins is a consumate professional and did exactly what he set out to do.  The chimney top appears to be the way I want it.  It looks clean, neat and effective.  Richard was on time and left no messes. I will hire him again for additional masonry work in the spring.

I purchased a 4 hour work coupon off Angies List for Watkins Masonry for $99.  I
contacted them and Rick Watkins came out and estimated the work.
He came out on a Wednesday, said they  would begin on Thursday and be done
on Friday.  The chimney on top of my house was falling apart and was in
desperate need of repair.  They rebuilt the chimney from the roof line
up and put new flashing around the chimney.  He also put a cap on top.
My roof is very steep and they had to put up scaffolding to get to the
top.
They required $800 deposit to start the work and the remaining $800 after completion.
They did a great job and I would recommend them for any masonry work you would need.

Great. He plays no games and shoots you straight about the damage.  I appreciate that.

He was the only guy who would take the job. His price was reasonable, but the problem was he wasn't very motivated to get it done. We had to keep at him to get it finished, that was the biggest issue. He did a good job with what he did but it took him forever. He said it only took him a couple of days to do it, but it was spread over a month. He did a good job, but it just took way too long. We wanted to get the driveway sealed, but by the time he was done it was too late. He also tore down the roof level and rebuilt it and redid the bricks on the front porch that was cracking. This was difficult because he had to match the brick. He did say he had some personal issues going on, but if he had just stayed on it he would have had it done in a couple of days. He did have the best prices and if you got a hold of him he was pretty good at responding.

It all was quickly and painlessly done. Rick even entertained my 94 year old father with construction stories. The chimney looks great, up close and from a distance, and my retaining wall has a new lease on life. Excellent experience!

He did a great work and did what he said was going to do with no problems. He even told us how to wash the brick and what to get to maintain the brick. We are installing a front porch are going to have him do the brick work on that, also.

He was on time everyday. he did an excellent - he cleaned up beautifully. He took all the bricks down and loaded them in his truck and then he put the new bricks up. He washed the whole chimney. He put something special around the top that guaranteed the chimney top for at least 10 years - it will not crack. He has done three chimneys in my neighborhood. He will work all day long and you won't hear a peep from him. He now is repairing another one of my homes. He is working on my garage floor. He is filling a big crack and putting rubberized epoxy on the floor.
