HERITAGE HARDWOOD

The first day he quit early because he indicated that there were problems with the material--scratches. We consulted with the wholesaler and looked at the issues (tiny little scratches) and asked him to use the scratched pieces in the closets. He left all the old carpeting he had removed piled in our front yard overnight instead of hauling it away the same day. We noticed that he had broken a tile on the floor of our newly remodeled bathroom, and when we confronted him about the damage, he said he thought it was already like that. We insisted that since he did the damage, he should fix it. He agreed.
The next day, we noticed several places where the floor seemed to have nails sticking up between the newly installed boards. He told us there was nothing he could do about that because the floor was already nailed down. He quit early again that day.
The third day, today, my husband was home when the contractor arrived. He stated that he didn't like to work with the homeowner around. My husband suggested that perhaps he should consider another line of work if he resented the homeowner being present to ensure the work was completed correctly and the home was secure. Words ensued between the contractor and my husband.
My husband fired the contractor. He left another pile of trash in our yard, our home has damage to the new tile in our bathroom, and the hardwood installation is only about 3/4 completed--with issues of nails protruding between the boards. We now have to find someone else to finish the work and fix the damage to our bathroom floor.

I would NEVER use this company again! Very poor job on installed hardwoods in our family room. Stained cherry, he got dark stain all over our white trim, he did an awful job reinforcing the top stair leading to the basement(which the newly installed wood had a crack in it!) When asked if he was going to repair large gaps, the cracked wood on stair, etc. he became very defensive, and said "oh now you're gonna complain about the work" We were getting ready to vacate the house for the weekend so he could apply the stain! I guess as a paying customer, you are unable to question his work! After telling him that we would not be paying the balance, due to the horrible workmanship- we called Albert Griffin and Sons and had them fix the newly installed hardwoods- they did a great job, and I truly wish we had gone with them from the beginning!

DO NOT USE. THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB AND WERE VERY RUDE.

ASKED HIM A COUPLE OF TIMES FOR 2-3 NAMES TO USE AS REFERENCES. HE NEVER WOULD GIVE HER ANY, SAID SHE COULD GET THOSE FROM ANGIE'S LIST, WHEN SHE EXPLAINED THAT THAT WAS NOT HOW IT WORKED, HE SAID SHE SHOULD GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE JOB.

PUT IN WOODEN STAIRS & LANDING. CAME BACK TO RE-DO A GLITCH AT NO EXTRA COST AS WELL.
