We originally purchased a custom gunite pool several years ago from Blue Haven Pools and have been thrilled with it ever since. We have a beautiful quartz finish that has maintained a beautiful blue color for several years and never requires a liner change. Over the years, we have relied on Mike at Blue Haven for occasional replacement supplies and he has always come through with flying colors. Mike is extremely knowledgeable about pools and has always given us outstanding advice. If we ever move again, Mike at Blue Haven will be one of the first contacts at our new house to install a Blue Haven pool there. Our Blue Haven pool system has an ozonator that considerably reduces the amount of chemicals needed and thus saves a lot of money. In fact, we rarely ever have to put anything more than chlorine about once a week or so to maintain crystal clear water. We have been very happy with the original pool installation that Blue Haven did along with all of the follow-up services. Just this past week, Blue Haven mailed me some tile pieces I had inadvertently lost at no cost!

Blue Haven was very responsive and professional. After cutting the old liner out we discovered severe damage to the bottom of the pool. This put an extra day into the schedule which I know they hadn't planned on. Rather than rescheduling the remaining work for another day, they kept to their original schedule and they proceeded to do what was necessary to repair the pool bottom correctly. The entire staff was a joy to work with and we now have a beautiful, smooth-bottom pool.

It's been a few years, so we have been able to let out the steam but the bad taste from this experience will forever remain in our mouths. They promise you the world and then start retracting their promises and telling you why they cannot do one or other thing. They promised to install an attic heater, but just before the pool was completed, told us that they were not installing those heaters anymore. They did reimburse us but now we were stuck with no heater. They also promised to build an overflow from spa to pool but then said they could not do it because of the automatic cover the pool would have. However, that was the only reason we wanted a spa and when they told us that, the spa had already been constructed. They also left us with 15 tons of extra soil to remove ourselves!!! They are full of hot air, unreliable, deceitful. I am surprised the pool itself turned out as well as it did. Would never work with them again!!! DON'T build your pool with them!

Signed Feb 2007 and pool not done as of 9/13/2007. Retaining wall constructed not per manufactures requirements. Manufacture wrote letter stating defected areas including not following Town Of Fishers Codes. When my attorney expressed these items, they treated me with lien and foreclose on my home for the $7,500 balance of the $68,500 already paid to them, and stated they will not fix the items. They promised concrete around pool plus 500 more sq feet, we only received 540 sq ft. Water fall was to be 5 x 9 around a slide, we only received 4 feet high not the 5 ft high promised. They had the concrete contractor come out and he gave me a quote for $5,600 for concrete around the pool that I already paid for in the contract. They have a contract that helps them not you, make sure you get an attorney to review before you sing, get every detail in writing. They have broken the heart of my two children that can never be fixed.

The work was not done on schedule, they didn't return phone calls, and the total ended up being more than the estimate. The slowness of the completion and their excuses for why they didn't come would be the reason we would not use them again. However, they did good quality work.

AFTER A CONSIDERABLE STRUGGLE AND FIGHTING TO GET THEM OUT HERE TO GET THEM TO DO THIS, THEY TOLD ME IF I PAID ANOTHER $10,000 ON TOP OF THE $55,000 THAT I ALREADY SPENT, THEY WOULD PUT IN A BRAND-NEW POOL. NOW, THE POOL THEY PROMISED TO RE-BUILD IS SITTING INCOMPLETE AND I JUST WANT THEM TO COME OUT AND FINISH THE JOB THEY PROMISED THEY WOULD DO IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE AND UNCOOPERATIVE. I THINK THEY HAVE BLOWN ME OFF BECAUSE IT IS A RE-BUILD AND NOT A NEW CONTRACT.

Blue Haven designed and built the pool of our dreams! Before choosing Blue Haven, we were concerned with some past negative comments on Angie's List. However, Mike gave us a list of references and, after talking to other customers and actually visiting some, we found that they were very satisfied. We were also impressed with the beautiful styling, quality, and ease of maintenance that Blue Haven offered compared to other pool builders that we considered. In the end, it was an easy choice and we are absolutely thrilled with our pool! They did a wonderful job of explaining the process and made our decisions much easier. Although we had some limitations in our backyard, Blue Haven still came up with a plan that fit all of our wishes. Blue Haven personnel, particularly Mike and Denise, were very easy to deal with and always professional throughout the process. We would definitely use them again in the future!

Never on time. Missed deadlines and phone calls were never returned. Construction on the pool began 4/2/05. Pool was supposed to be done by 5/25/05, but we were not able to swim until 8/1/05. The pool has leaked since day one. 7/19/05. Water still, 'til this day (9/18/06), leaks everyday. We have had leak detectors out here and no one can seem to find the problem. (Leaks about one inch a day and have standing water in the back yard).Blue Haven fixed a leak last year and another this year but the pool still leaks. Getting ahold of them is impossible and you always get a different answer. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

We signed a contract, February 22, 2006, with an understanding that our pool would be complete in close to 90 days. It is now 7+ months later and it's not done. The company subcontracts all of its work and doesn't schedule one trade until the last one is done. Then there is a waiting period of 3-4 weeks before the next step is complete. They have made numerous excuses, including too much rain, subcontractors who have quit, etc. They built and completed a pool for the company owner prior to working on mine (even though his was started at the beginning of summer, it is complete.) The initial price was $63,000. We added some concrete at the beginning of the project (verbally quoted at $800-1000 - ended up being $3000). Despite numerous requests, I didn't receive a written quote until the work was already done. Other change orders added $4000 more. The pool itself is very nice, but their lack of customer service and professionalism has made it a lousy experience.

They were the worst company I have ever worked with. We signed a contract with them in March and they instructed us that our pool would be completed by the end of May. However, they didn't even start it until May 19th. It is currently mid August and it still isn't finished. They fail to keep appointments and return phone calls. They have failed to keep any deadlines that THEY have set. I absolutely would NOT recommend this company.

I would do it again. There were some difficult communication early on but everything got ironed out nicely. They were very responsive.

They told us that we could swim in it when it was finished which we later found out was a violation of code. We cancelled a week of vacation to make sure they would do the work, because nothing at all had been done while we were gone previously. There is a big problem with the placement of our skimmer boxes and pool cover. Both skimmer basket access lids are located under the pool cover track thus making basket removal impossible. We were advised to remove the baskets from the skimmer throat (at water level). The $$ waterfall is dry stacked and very unstable. The sand base is washing away at an alarming rate which could make it life threatening. This is only a short list of the many problems we had with this company, whom we have paid in full. Now they will not respond to our efforts. We could not imagine a worse experience and it ruined our entire summer.

IT WAS STARTED IN SEPTEMBER 2004 AND NOT COMPLETED UNTIL MAY 2005. DURING THE FALL, WE HAD SUSPICIONS THAT IT WAS COMING OUT OF THE GROUND. IT SAT EMPTY ALL WINTER AND THEY FINISHED IT UP SLOWLY IN MAY. WE HAD IT FILLED IN MAY AND AS SOON AS THE POOL WAS FILLED, IT STARTED CRACKING AND LOSING WATER. THEY HAVE BEEN OUT SEVERAL TIMES TO FIX IT. WE HAVE COMPLETELY EMPTIED IT AND THEY SENT A COMPANY OUT, OCEAN REFLECTIONS, TO DIVE AND CHECK THE CRACKS. IN A 36 HOUR PERIOD, WE HAVE LOST AN INCH AND 3/4THS. THE FOUNTAIN WAS NOT THE ONE THAT I ASKED FOR AND IT LEAKS AS WELL. THEY SENT PEOPLE OUT 6 TIMES TO FIX THESE LEAKS. THE FOUNTAIN IS TILED AND WHEN WE HAD DRAINAGE PROBLEMS, THE SUPERVISOR TOOK A CHISEL AND BUSTED OUT A COUPLE TILES. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE COSMETIC DECISION AND HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. THEY ALSO HAVE YET TO DELIVER OUR ANCHOR COVER FOR THE POOL. IN THE MEANTIME, THEY HAVE BEEN LYING TO US AND NOT CALLING US BACK.

1: MET IN OUR HOME W/ SEVERAL COMPANIES BEFORE CHOOSING BLUE HAVEN. NOT TOO IMPRESSED WITH SALESMAN, RICK. WERE IMPRESSED WE COULD GET A GUNITE POOL, NOT VINYL, LINED W/ TOP QUALITY FILTRATION, CHLORINATOR, ETC. FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. EXCAVATION BEGAN 3/14, TOOK FIRST SWIM ON 5/28. WENT SMOOTHLY, EXCEPT TILE. VERY UNHAPPY WITH WAY TILE INSTALLED ON WATERFALL WALL. "STUCK" IN TILE PHASE ABT. 4 WKS. MIKE RUTHERFORD, OWNER, HAD TILE SUB TAKE ALL TILE DOWN & RE-DO COMPLETELY TO SATISFACTION. WILLIAM, CONST. SUP., AVAILABLE BY CELL PHONE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. ALSO MET W/ CONCRETE INSTALLER WE SELECTED. HAD TO BE PERSISTENT CALLING OFFICE, BUT EVENTUALLY RESPONDED. 2: IN 24 HRS OF MAKING AWARE, BH SENT OUT 3 GUYS TO FIX. IMPRESSED W/ THEIR TIMELINESS, AS WE WERE HAVING A POOL PARTY SAME WEEK. ALSO, LINE WAS DAMAGED BY ANOTHER CONTRACTOR WORKING IN YARD, DIGGING, HIT LINE. BH CAME OUT QUICKLY, FIXED LINE COMPLETELY NO CHG, ALTHOUGH REPAIR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN WARRANTY, GIVEN HOW IT OCCURRED.

THEY CLOSED THE POOL. I WANTED THE SPA BUILT 18 INCHES UP OFF BUT THEY ONLY BUILT IT 6 INCHES. WHEN I ASKED THE WORKERS THEY SAID THEY WERE TOLD TO MAKE IT 6 INCHES AND THAT THE OFFICE WOULD TAKE THE HEAT. THE SPA WOULD LOSE WATER & WAS BEING MONITORED EVERYDAY. THEY DETERMINED IT NEEDED CHECK VALVES IN THE POOL LINES, BUT COULDN'T INSTALL TIL SPRING OF 2005. THEY SAID BY CLOSING THE POOL WE WOULDN'T LOSE WATER ANYMORE. IT LOST ABOUT 4-6 INCHES OF WATER EVERY 2 DAYS. IT TOOK THEM TIL DEC 30TH TO REPLACE THE SEALS & CHLORINATER BECAUSE THEY WERE FAULTY. THEY DRAINED THE SPA, PUT CAULKING IN, AND FILLED IT BACK UP. IT WAS LEAKING LESS BUT STILL LEAKING, & THEY SAID, "THAT'S ACCEPTABLE." THEY WANTED $175 TO CLOSE THE SPA. AFTER CONTACTING ANGIE'S LIST THEY AGREED TO A FREE CLOSE, BUT THEY ALSO REQUESTED I WRITE LETTER STATING HOW PLEASED I WAS OF THEIR SERVICE. I DO NOT INTEND TO WRITE THEM A LETTER. I HAVE WITNESSES WHO CAN TESTIFY I WAS TOLD THE TREE WOULD NOT TURN BROWN.
