Rick was continually late and uncommunicative. He would give us an excuse, for example his father passing, only to discover his father hadn't died. What should have taken a few days took months, was only 'completed' because of threats of legal action, and he never sealed it as agreed. It was done in an amateur manner, which he blamed on staff he'd hired, only my wife saw him there 'supervising' and despite our work being the biggest of our neighbors he was working on, he paid no attention to it and it showed. I could have done a better job doing it myself. He had some genuine unforseen circumstances, like equipment breakdown, but for the most part, he merely made excuses and worked on someone else's contracts while leaving ours unfinished. I had to pressure him after he ripped our old concrete out to return and pour the new concrete, which took weeks. When he did, it looked so horrible I was convinced I'd have to pay someone to rip it out and replace it (and I'm almost certainly going to do that). Others in our neighborhood had the exact same experience; poor workmanship, no communication, deceptive practices and inability to get work done in a timely manner or show up when he said he would. I did eventually pay the remainder of the contract, despite the shoddy workmanship, just to get him away from us.
Use at your own risk. He has great pricing, but you get less than you pay for. In the end, I gave him 1000 for something I'm going to have to have ripped out and replaced by someone who can actually do it right. It will probably cost me more, but I would have saved money to pay that up front and never deal with him.
