A+ For Davey's Tree Service

Only ground half of the stump. Piled grindings up around it to hide unground part! Could not see unground part. I called him back to get the job done right. He kept saying that he we would take care of it. He would even give date and time, but never showed up. No phone call or text. Always had an excuse. This went on for a month and a half! My neighbor finally did it. If you like to pay full price for half the job, then Davey's Tree Service in Lawrenceburg, IN is your business!

The the original bids, etc... were done over the phone.  I saw him in the truck with one other person and one chain saw.... I should have let him know I didn't need/want his services then and there.  But I needed to have a tree down in time for the plumbers to come as my water lines had been destroyed by tree roots.  I was in major crunch time...and he took advantage of that.  Stupid me gave him a cash deposit.
After promising me he would take care of it quickly -  he did not show up for days.  I had to call him daily -  When he finally showed up, he dropped off his "crew" and left.  When I came home that day - the tree was partially down and the truck and limbs were scattered all over my front yard - it was a mess.  The logs were left in very large pieces.  The pieces were laying on the spot that he knew the plumbers had to dig.  It was a marked area.   The yard was left a mess - after much angry calling - he finally showed up the next day - late in the day and took a few pieces and just stared at my house - creepy.  He said he would be back for the rest.  He never returned.  The plumbers came and completed their work.  Fake Davey called and wanted to know if I wanted him to finish up the work.  I did not answer the phone.  The only contact I would want from him is for him to give me half of my money back.
I had to call and pay for another company to clear the mess he left so I could get my plumbing done and my pipes
 relined.
I am usually more careful.  I know I will be from now on!

Very professional overall, and the work was delivered exactly as promised. There were some scary moments (for me, not them), as I watched their tree guy hanging several stories off the ground, but in the end there was no property damage, they had everything under control, and it was clear they were experienced and knew exactly what they were doing. I would definitely hire them again the next time I needed tree work done. My only complaint was that sometimes they would say they were coming back to continue the work at a certain time and day, and then they just wouldn't show up. If I called, they would update me on when they're coming, the reason they had to reschedule, etc., but the owner didn't call me on his own to say they weren't coming when he said they were. But this is a small communications issue, and overall I was very happy with them.

They worked carefully, lowering tree sections with ropes to prevent damage to the grass and shrubs below.

Removed all of the tree and parts of trees that they had cut down and raked up the area. Removed the stump and left the area ready for me to sow grass seed.
