Nice guys, answered all of our questions. Pumped the tank and cleaned up. They were quick to respond (scheduled to come within 2 days of our call). They phoned first and came a little early due to a cancellation. Nothing to complain about :) I would recommend their service.

They just come out and did the job.

I am thankful to Jack & Vernon's for their service. I had called three other septic companies prior to this one. Because the tank needed to be uncovered, all three refused, saying the ground was frozen and they would not come if they had to dig it up. When I called Jack & Vernon's, the gentleman explained that the ground does not freeze over the septic tank and said they would do it. I was concerned about time because I had to go to work soon but he assured me they would be out quickly and get it done before I had to leave. Two gentlemen showed up in a timely manner, quickly located the tank and uncovered it. He was right...the ground was not frozen. The tank was pumped but one toilet still didn't function properly. They said I needed to have the line rodded out. My only disappointment was that they said they do not do that service and gave me a referral to another company. Still, I am grateful that they came and did a job that, for some reason, these other companies did not want to do. The price they charged was fair and comparable to other companies.

Excellent service! We called another local company on a Friday for an appointment on Monday. They called Monday after they were supposed to be here to cancel stating they didn't have insurance coverage. How a company does not know that is beyond me. So we called JACK AND VERNON who came out right away with no problem!!! They were $50 LESS than the first company but because they were very professional and quickly responded we paid them extra! We will stay with JACK AND VERNON as long as we have a septic system. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!

These are the guys to go to in Porter County. Unfortunately we had to completely replace our septic field as the one that was installed 17 yrs ago when the house was built was done incorrectly and our septic tank never had a baffle. The contractor was very responsive and tried to first find the most inexpensive way to deal with the problem, which was my house was backing up. After futher diagnosing the problem, they knew how to resolve. We had to deal with the county goverment regarding site inspections, application and retrieval of permits, etc which is a service they also provided. Also had access to all the right equipment to handle a full field replacement in very tight quarters.

I had an incompetent contractor repair my septic system. Usually it is a $6000-$8500 job. I had very little money after being laid off for 7 months. I worked overtime as much as a could and skipped my summer vacation and hired Huron Septic. I paid $4400 and got screwed. All the work Huron did was against Porter County Code. It was wrong material and incorrect design. Porter County inspectors have no sympathy or concern if you are laid off or have no money. They demanded I correct the job to code. This meant redoing the job 90%.
I then called Jack and Vernon Septic and they basically saved my house for me. He seen I was screwed and spent $4400.00 for nothing. He could have charged me $4000-$5000 to redo the system,NO I MEAN HE SHOULD have charged me $4000 but he did not.He decided to help me out of a bind that was no fault of his and only charged me $2000!!!!!! He knows all the codes for Porter County and the proper way to do the job! He also knows the Porter County Inspectors and they know him. I can not thank them enough for the help on this nightmare. I will recommend them no matter what. You want to hear my story call me at 464-4809 (Mark) I dont mine. Im out $4400 and no reason you should be.
Please don't make the mistake I did. Use a reputable company like Jack and Vernon in the FIRST PLACE!!!!!

They did the work quickly and they were clean. I'm pretty sure the work is up to code and done correctly, but I haven't received a receipt from them yet.

We had just bought an older home and decided to have the septic cleaned. They came out the next morning and pumped out the tank. They were very professional about it. Since this was our first house with septic, they let us know how often to have our tank pumped, what to watch out for, and were sure to answer any questions we had. I would use them in the future.
