YODER HI-TECH HEATING INC

It went really well, the guy came 30 minutes after i made the call on Monday around 15:00. I didn't know what the issue was until the tech told me it was a broken capacitor, and the charge was going to be 120 USD. I was a bit flustered, so i questioned the tech about the issue and why the price was so high. He then explained that the capacitor powers the compressor and it takes a very skilled worker to replace it because of the potential risk of death due to high current. He then stated that Yoder himself sets the price of the replacement, then he told me that the capacitors cost 120 dollars a piece. He orders all shapes and sizes and has about 11 of each standard size in stock at any given moment. This impressed me, and the professionalism of the tech surprised me due to reviews on this site.

Awful. Did not run upon installation but techs left stating it was fine. Had to demand they come back and still took hours for them to figure out how to properly install and get up and running. Also we've had nothing but problems every year since installation, this is the worst company anyone could ever use!! Biggest waste of $3000 we've ever invested

The lack of professionalism was astounding.  The team left, stating the job was done, but I came home to find muddy footprints tracked throughout the downstairs of my home, especially in my bathroom & in my shower!  And not just footprints -- mud was caked onto my throw rugs so badly, I couldn't tell what color they were supposed to be!  The installers had to be in the bathroom (and shower) to raise the ceiling tiles to access the ductwork.  OK, that's a perfectly understandable part of the job, but any professional installer should have known that when raising those acoustic ceiling tiles, 'crud' will drop down ... and you would expect that to be cleaned up.  Not so!  I even had to throw away my toothbrushes that were on my bathroom sink, because everything in that room was covered with that dust & dirt. I contacted the owner, and he did promptly arrive to look at the damage, but his attitude was not apologetic, nor did he even seem surprised to see such a mess! The installers returned the following day and did a fair job of removing the mud from the floors and the shower stall ... but no other cleanup was done.  The following day, I discovered water flooding into my furnace/water heater room when I ran water through the kitchen drain upstairs.  Turns out the PVC pipe the installers connected into the existing drain pipe was not sealed at all ... so water coming from upstairs just gushed out around the new pipe.  Again, they did respond promptly, and did seal the pipe connection, which has been satisfactory so far.  Overall, we do seem to have a working furnace (and hopefully A/C)...but the manner in which it was installed was the least professional of any service provider I've ever seen.  I would NOT recommend this company.

The workers were not respectful of our home.  They wore dirty shoes from being in the crawl space, and left a mess in every room that they worked in.  They entered our home without ever knocking.  They smoked in our crawlspace often.  The vents were all taken out so the smoke permeated thoughout our home.  The workers took breaks and even left the premises for hours at a time and we were forced to pay the hourly rate of $100.00 per hour even when they weren't here.  When we were presented with the bill, which was a piece of computer paper without a letter head or anything on it, I pointed out that the labor hours we were being charged were over the actual hours that the workers were at out home.  Greg Yoder, the owner screamed at me for at least 5 minutes straight. There was no warranty for the work on the sheet of paper,  only the labor and materials used. We kept track of their hours, and we were overcharged by several hours.  The work is bad, and we will have to pay another heating professional to correct the problem because I do not have anything from Yoder saying they will stand behind their work.  I would never recommend them for anything ever.

My air conditioner has a slow freeon leak.  It was late Friday afternoon and I noticed the air coming from the vents was not as cold as it should be.  The temperature outside was around 100.  It was too late in the day to call the company I normally used and this same company does not work the weekends nor do they provide emergency service.  I knew it was going to be a hot weekend so I started looking for a company that worked the weekends and did not charge me extra for that service.  I called Yoder early Saturday morning.  Within 1.5 hours they were at my house recharging my a/c with freeon.  They informed me that my a/c was completely out of freeon.  Having had to have this service done before during normal business hours I had a pretty good idea without asking how much this type of service cost and being a Saturday and 100 degrees outside I was just grateful to find someone who advertised 24 hour service at no additional cost.  When they completed the work and gave me their invoice, it was approximately $100 more than what I had paid to another company who performed the same service during normal business hours.  I was a little disappointed to find them that much higher than a previously used company but I really had no choice with the heat wave we were experiencing.  I couldn't wait until Monday.  Yoder was professional and I would use them again if I had a weekend emergency but for work during normal business hours, I would probably continue to use the company I had been using and save $100.

The Yoder team arrived on time and worked diligently until all systems were up and running.
