The service that Dave and his crew provided were amazing. This was not the first company I called, but it was the first company that came and quoted me in a reasonable time. Their quote was competitive to a few other companies, but still a significant amount less than competitor's models at the same level which was all an added bonus! His crew were prompt, friendly, and did a great job installing the new furnace. I would highly recommend this company...service was one of the best we've had!
Our a/c did not work very long this spring. We also had a 18 year old furnace as well. I decided to replace both units.
Dave came by within a week of calling him. I had received two prior estimates before Dave came by.
Dave gave me several options/packages to replace the units. I actually mixed and matched my a/c with the furnace options. Dave checked out the compatibility and we were set. I really liked the flexibility that Dave showed, and it allowed me not to overbuy on my furnace.
Installation just took a day. The guys that did the job were professional and on time. They answered my questions without any delay or disdain.
There was a leak where they tapped into the water ( I had a humidifier installed too). It showed up the next day after the installation. It turned out to be a faulty device, not in the installation, and they came by that Saturday afternoon to fix it. Good follow-up.
It is now two months later, and everything is running smoothly.
Plus, I know, that if I do have a problem, I am sure that the Mecko team could handle it.
They worked us into the very next day, and stayed until the job was done - after 7:00 pm.
Thank you to all of the guys at Mecko's.
Being tight on money, I got several quotes for a furnace / ac unit. I did some of the work myself (removed the old furnace, pulled power and thermostat wire, set concrete pad for condenser, drilled holes for refrigerant lines, and brought a drain line close for the condensate) ahead of time. I received a quote of $5000 for a full install and was told by the owner that when they arrived for the install, the work I did would reduce the cost. They inspected the existing unit and knew the installation area (suply plenum and return duct size). When they came for installation, they didn't bring a return grill made to hold a filter though it was part of the estimate. After the install, the furnace cabinet would whistle terribly. Not being sure what a new furnace should sound like, I ignored it and hoped they would check it out when they came with the new filter grill. Unfortunately, they never did. I received a call from the owner asking when I was going to pay them. I told him that when the installation was complete I would pay. He acted as though he knew nothing about the return grill though it was in the estimate and supposedly the installer talked to him about it. By this time I had done some reading and found that there was not enough return filter area and the return duct was barely big enough and the whistleing was caused by the furnace sucking air through the cabinet panels. My wife picked up the promised filter grill when she dropped off a check for the install and the owner tried to add it to the project cost again. In addition, in order to meet the required filter area (this information was all in the installation manual from the furnace manufacturer), I cut in an additional return. The whole install came in barely under the $5000 estimate even though I had completed several items and purchased those materials.
They may be great for repairs but they showed no knowledge about manual j or manual d sizing and demonstrated no knowledge of anything technical other than the physical duct, electric, and gas hookups.Licensing
