I live in an older home built around 1910. There were a total of 6 doorways (3 doorways and 3 entryways leading into a walk thru closet, bathroom, basement, kitchen, bedroom, and outside doorway. ) I was going to attempt this myself. Whew, what a relief it is knowing I didn't  !   This being an older home, under sawing the door jams was tough. (They don't build them like this anymore) .
I called Adam and he arrived the very next day and emailed an estimate by that same evening. He arrived at  my house on the day and time we had setup, and completed the job within 2 weeks. Adam is a true professional  ! He is thorough and precise with his work.  He has excellent communication skills. He gives the customer options, and is willing to explain to you what he is doing. Adam is very detailed, and takes pride in his work. What a difference it makes having the floor I have now, compared to the old nasty carpet I had for years. If I need any flooring installed in the future, I will call Adam Harrison. Highly Recommended !!

Adam is a true professional.  He knows everything there is to possibly know about flooring and he isn't afraid to tell you things shouldn't be done the way you want because it may effect longevity of the job since his name is at stake. He does the job the RIGHT way.
My only gripe is that it took me a few times to get him to tell me the progress of the job each day as he left.  I didn't know where I could / couldn't walk and once we were left without a washer and dryer for a weekend without knowing they were going to be pulled.  Aside from a minor hiccup with communication he was a dream to work with and I would fully recommend him to anyone looking for flooring to be replaced.

Adam is really meticulous with details. If you want a high quality job that you can really show of to others, he is the man for the job. Only down side is that you have to invest a lot of time to wait for him to get the job done. Him being meticulous and all makes him do the job at a slower pace compared to other contractor since he only works mostly by himself. But after you see the finished job it would all be worth it! We love the outcome of his work. We got a lot of compliments already on the quality of the floor and the work he did. He does not do anything just to finish the job, he does a detailed job and does not want any bad comment from anybody for his work so he makes sure he does everything the right way. Hands down we'd recommend him to anybody else who wants quality work done at a very reasonable price too. Remember it's high quality work that he does, you just need to have a lot of patience with him and give him the time to do his job.

Adam is a perfectionist and everything he did was super high quality (even in our 1930's home which has MORE than its fair share of irregularities and difficulties). Very pleasant and easy to work with. Very attentive to what the customer wants instead of just doing what he wants or thinks should be done. Very educated and up-to-date with his knowledge of flooring and tiling.

We loved his work and his prices and will definitely use him again for future projects. Highly recommend Harrison Flooring to anyone who wants their job done right and at a fair price.

Response from Harrison Flooring
"I did over 90% of the job. I didn't charge for any labor, only the materials that were used, of which they were given the original receipts, to show there was no mark up. It was determined upon removal of the old hearth that structural work, that was not apparent until revealed, was needed. I did all of that work at no cost to the customer. I cut and dry laid the tile. The very small pieces of besalt kept coming loose from the mosaic backing. I checked with the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), to see optional trowel sizes. The customer contacted the store where they purchased a generic, off brand tile, that told them to have me use a wall trowel. Saying that'[Member Information Removed] what they use. The trowel they suggested would not leave enough thinset for a floor application. It would be ok for a wall, where they wouldn't get walked on. I explained that to the customer, stating I didn't want the job to fail, in my name. It was a holiday weekend and I had contacted another well respected tile setter I know to come out and take a look at it, at my expense. She was not happy with that. While holding her baby, she began raising her voice, cussing & demanding me to do my job against industry standard. I politely refused, stating once again that I will have another professional come out and assess it. She continued yelling and cussing. I remained calm and began to load up my tools. As I was leaving, her mother came outside and apologized for her daughters behavior and she stated that she didn't blame me for not wanting to do the job wrong. I worked for free and was completely disrespected and talked down to while I was there. I would never want to do work for someone that is ok with treating another person like that,"

On  Wednesday, May 29th, 2013, Adam and his partner Tony came to my home in Golden Colorado, and provided us with a detailed, free estimate, that we received by email within two days of the initial meeting.   By far, Adam and Tony
provided the most reasonable estimate for the extensive flooring work we needed done.  We needed to install tile, hardwood and laminate planking, and requested detailed tile work on stair risers, and the center of the hardwood in the bedroom.  We met with about eight different contractors, and without a doubt, Adam and Tony were the most honest, trustworthy, and upstanding pair out of everyone.  They are just regular hardworking family guys, with an intense desire for customer satisfaction.  Their extreme politeness was a welcome change. We had all of the materials, which made the project extra challenging as we only had a limited quantity of the hardwood, yet an abundance of tile.  Adam  and Tony?s creative expertise came into play as they made a hardwood border around a large tile design in the center of the bedroom.  It turned out absolutely amazing!  In this old house, none of the rooms or stairs are square, but Adam and Tony fine-tuned everything to fit perfectly.  The intricate detail that they put into every separate area is extraordinary, and looks nothing like the standard mediocre flooring work done by most contractors today.  The project took longer than expected to complete, as they came across some interesting structural challenges with the stairs, but they arrived in a timely manner every day (including the weekend), and stayed into the evenings until the project was finished.  On top of the unfailing punctuality, and high level of expertise, they left the work area/s spotless prior to leaving each day.
My husband and I are thrilled with the final results of the project, and highly recommend Adam and Tony for any project that someone may hire them for.

I would highly recommend Adam Harrison for installation of flooring.  He stopped by in advance of laying the flooring and gave a free estimate that was competitive with many of the other installers in the area.  He does excellent work.  As a result, he is usually booked up for several weeks.  But he is well worth the wait.  In addition to doing excellent work, he is a very honest person.

Adam Harrison measured area to be carpeted and provided good information for ordering. He was meticulous about replacing tack strips, stretching carpeting and matching seams. He was pleasant and professional.  Because he is a single installer, the installation took almost four days but the results were worth the time spent.

Adam is a talker, but that worked out well for us because he is very knowledgeable of options and was eager to share with us and work with us on our unique situation.  He was able to figure out just what kind of flooring would work well and save us quite a bit of money, both on materials and the install.  We needed the work done fast to sell the house, so he prepped during the week and came over and had it all done in a weekend- leveling and all, in time for a showing Sunday afternoon.

Adam did a fantastic job. He was meticulous about the job, inspecting each board before installing it, making sure my house was kept in order, and leaving it looking better than he arrived. He was quick to respond to all my questions via email. He took all the time necessary to explain what he was doing and why. His measurements were dead on, no overage and no shortage. I was impressed with his work ethic and was very happy with the completed project. I would definitely have him back.

Perfect, the carpet was installed promptly, and care was taken to prevent damage to my home. He made seams that are invisible, and laid out the carpet so that I had to pay for very little waste. He is an expert in his field.

This is the second time he has done flooring and it was another great experience.  I won't use anyone else for flooring installation. He is the cleanest contractor I have met.  He carefully prepared for installation, protected my furnishings, and did an excellent job for clean up.  I pleasant man who takes great pride in his work.

Adam came to see the work that was needed to be done and prepare an estimate of the approximate cost of the repairs. He explained in detail what had likely caused the problem, how it would need to be fixed, the approximate cost of materials and labor to be performed. We scheduled a date for the work to be performed which he estimated would take between 2-3 days, depending upon any unforeseen difficulties/drying times. The original date ended up being changed due to another project's delay. The first day of the job entailed lifting the damaged tiles, selecting grout color, and his shopping to obtain the required tiles to match. He returned after trying all local stores with 2 different tiles that were close but not exact. Therefore, he would need to use some hidden tiles to do the visible repairs, and would use the selected newly purchased ones to replace the hidden tiles. When he left Day 1, all tiles had been dug out and new cement board was installed where it was missing due to the poor work done during building the home. He also removed the too few sheetrock screws (also improperly used) and replaced them with the proper cement board screws, increasing the number of screws as well. All tiles were also installed by the end of Day 1. On Day 2 he grouted all of the floor tiles replaced and began the tedious job of removing the masterbath shower stall and bathtub grout. All grout lines were barely 1/16th of an inch so this was a very painstaking task, much of which required the use of hand tools to prevent damage to the tiles themselves. Day 3 he reurned to find the floor grout had water seeping up through it. Pulling out he shower fixtures revealed that there was no waterproofing between the tiles and the cementboard. There wasn't even any fiberglass tape on the cementboard joints. It looks like water has been seeping through the cracked grout and settling in the walls and flooring underneath. There is likely mold underneath. I will have him back after the holidays to complete what now will be a major fix for someone else's shoddy work. I will also have him reseal the floors. He explained everything he was doing in great detail. I was impressed with his work ethic, his dedication to his profession, and the pride that he took in doing excellent workmanship. He was very critical that the previous work had not been done properly which was the reason for these repairs and was very critical of several of the major builders in town who allowed shoddy work to be performed. I will definitely go to him for references for any additional work that I may need to have done.
