This is the kind of review I hate to do. I chose a local, well recommended, flooring store. I will never do that again. The store does have an adequate amount of flooring to choose from. Hannah was very pleasant but new. I had a good idea of what I wanted so that was a plus. I should have seen what was coming when a representative came to measure and thought he was measuring for carpet. He was very nice and talkative. He seemed to know what he was doing. He did inform me that I would either need to install quarter round trim myself or hire someone to do that part. OK I approved the quote that Hannah sent me via email and the order for the flooring was placed on Sept 22. She thought it would take a week to get to the store. I could go into great detail of why it wasn't fully installed until November 23rd but I will keep it to the highlights of the many issues that made this a blundering failure. Timing: Delays on delivery, the fact that it needed to acclimate, and getting the installer to my home were major problems. Holidays and company on my part were a factor also. I'm not a flooring expert: I thought the people who do this were supposed to know what was needed to complete the job. Someone forgot to order transitions and I was shorted quite a bit on the planking for the order because no one checked the quantity on the order when it came in. Good thing a friend of mine counted the boxes and I had the receipt. Still cleaning up: The installer had an assistant, at least I thought that's what he was. Let's just say, he stood around a lot and tracked glue on the floor a couple of times. Clean-up on the glue should have been done as the floor was being installed. I'm still finding spots and trying to clean them up as I see them. What should have taken about 3 weeks total, took over 2 months. Actual installation time was maybe 18 hours if we had all the materials. I ripped out my old carper so we were walking on cement the majority of the time waiting for the install to happen. Hannah was the only bright spot for the whole process. She always got back to me promptly and apologized repeatedly for all the problems. I know she learned a lot during my installation. Hopefully she will be able to head off any future issues like mine from now on. Great Floors did not charge me for the transitions as they should have been included with the quote and they knew I wasn't happy at all with the whole ordeal. The floor looks great overall. Time will tell if the installation was done correctly. I would not recommend Great Floors for hard wood.

The process of choosing the carpet was simple.  They were patient and no pressure.  They made recommendations on types of carpet that would be better for hallways and stairs.  The installers were professional and did a great job.  We had the carpet installed in our hallways, stairs, and basement family room.  When the installer noticed a leak in our basement floor, he told us right away.  He was also very nice and offered to come back after we had fixed our leak to finish laying the carpet with no extra charges.  We live 30 minutes from Lafayette so that was very nice.  I would definitely use them again.

They did one of the nicest installations we have had in a long while.  Did it in a very reasonable time and cleaned up after the job was done.
